Ferris returns after many years to talk to you about something important! This is a PSA I put together for Twitter regarding a surge of vet bill scam posts I’ve been seeing there, and red flags to look out for! I am NOT saying any post asking for help is a scam. What I’m saying is these scams exist, are becoming more common, and to do your due diligence before sharing or donating. Help is a limited resource, so we want to make sure it gets into the right hands. <3

Additionally, on both Tumblr on Twitter, it seems like these scam accounts reblog/retweet a bunch of stuff to look legitimate, but lack much (if any) original posts due to the high amount of turnover - an easy thing to check!

I went on a high stakes time traveling adventure with Wilbur Soot while being chased by Sonic and Knuckles who were calling us slurs (my dream redacted them so all I heard was [slur]). We rode a weird dimension-hopping bus, saved the driver from his evil clones, accidentally shoplifted from an emo store, scammed a liquidation outlet, and fucked up the timeline even worse.

While normally Tim would run towards the terrified screaming, right now he’s just going to be pretty much useless, so he’s going to make an intelligent decision and proceed in the opposite direction. For his health and safety.

If you receive a text claiming to be from USPS, asking you to click on a link or copy/paste a link, DONT DO IT
It is a phishing scam attempting to get your personal information. USPS doesn’t send links. This type of scammer disguises the text as being from some government agency and requiring your information for something.
Verify the name, USPS customer service doesn’t use hotmail, and is also called USPS customer service.
If you get a text like this, report it as junk. Even if you ARE expecting a package, USPS won’t send you a link.
Report it and move on.

Reblog to spread the word, scams like this steal your personal information which is VERY DANGEROUS
Reblog and tag your mutuals so they know to avoid these scams, and what to do if they receive a text like this.

I got scammed yesterday on Twitter.
I'm not breaking a sweat about it. It won't have long term consequences for me, but please for all Artists and Buyers, if you're making a Deal for a Commission or to buy an Adopt DON'T use Friends&Family.
I know the extra Fees can be annoying, but it saves you a lot of trouble in case of Scamming. Adapt your Prices for the Fees (for the Artists) and stayed save!
