Summary:
During a wonderful, romantic evening at home, Bucky surprises Steve by mentioning retirement.
Then during a mission, someone abducts Bucky. Again. Half-crazy with worry for his husband and rage at whoever has dared to touch him, Steve vows that this time is the last time. When he orders different mission parameters than any he's ever set before, he expects the rest of the Avengers to object, but to his surprise, they're on board.
Because they need to send a message: If you threaten the world, we'll protect it. If you threaten us, there's no one who can protect you. Steve and the Avengers go on a rampage, destroying the kidnapper's base and rescuing Bucky before his mind can be stolen from him again. And once Steve gets Bucky back in his arms, he promises to take him home for good.
