and here comes watcher with a (n actually) good apology but i still believe they need to drop steven lim. he will ruin them in the end.

he can go hang out with his racist and homophobic friends, hang out with his homophobic pastor and he can ask simu liu to pay for his expensive lifestyle because i think it's clear most of us don't like him.

also NO ONE EVER asked for tv quality shit. that's why buzzfeed unsolved remains a better source of entertainment because it wasn't about production but about the charisma and chemistry of shane and ryan.

i'm still DEEPLY dissapointed. this should've NEVER happened. it's good that they backtracked but more shit needs to change. i'm not even a patron and i felt TERRIBLE for them. they were treated terribly and were left on read for TWO days.

also sara rubin's deaf tone post about a survivable living... guilt tripping the fans like that was infuriating... the post before that she posted that she bought a $100+ tote bag... you know what? thats 1/4 of my monthly salary.

steven lim eating food that cost $1000 for a video that barely gets 200k views... that's 2 WHOLE MONTH SALARIES.

ryan and his wife going every week to an amusement park and every month to another country when many of their fans (me included) barely make it to the end of the month, less have never traveled abroad.

shane being silent. you raised us better man, says a lot.

these people and their LA brainrot crying poverty bothers me a lot. even if the apology was good. i'm still angry and i don't even have money or would've had any money for their streaming service (that btw, it's not worth it... because getting like 4 videos a month for 6 bucks is crazy).

you ARE rich. you live in a expensive city and make overproduced content that people would watch back then when it was two guys sitting on a desk.

@wearewatcher things need to change. let this be a HUGE lesson. also, literally no one wants to pay for steven lim's luxuries. NO ONE.

I also think it is very important to remember that while they apologized for the one stuff, Steven has still YET to apologize for being buddy buddy with known racists, homophobes, and also owning an anti queer book and hosting an anti queer pastor on his podcast. Not that an apology can even fix all this, but he should at least hold himself accountable and not brush it under the rug and act as if it never happened. He needs to do something.

You cannot just ignore the deeper aspects of this all. You really cannot. Everything is not suddenly okay just because they handled the one aspect of their issues okay.

It still rubs me wrongly how any criticism towards these men, especially in regards to Steven "My only personality trait is being rich and hanging with homophobic racists and living in the rich parts of LA" Lim, gets met with "But they're an indie company!!! :(( they're not as rich as Musk or Bezos, so therefore, you can not criticize them!!! Despite the fact they're still filthy rich."
