Sam believing that Dean would not say yes to Michael when even Dean intended to say yes. The fact that Sam knows Dean better than Dean knows himself and the fact that Dean decided not to say yes because he looked at Sammy and didn't want to let him down... that trust in each other... The samulet should have returned here... (I know Jensen was having trouble with it but they could hang it in the car or sth T.T)

It’s so completely late, but after I missed the deadline I just decided to take the time to clean it up and make it all finished looking for this one at least. It also helped that that the mods of the event didn’t seem to mind late entries. Hopefully that hasn’t changed after 11 days.🤞
I would have been done with this short comic earlier, but tbh it was hard for me to work on it because the subject was affecting me so much. I can torture Sam in a lot of bloody ways but I can’t handle the emotional angst as much lately.
Like the last few times I’d rather go into detail on Ao3 when I make that post. But, long story short, I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do for this theme until way too late. And then I remembered 2x04 where Sam buried John’s tags at Mary’s headstone, and then I figured maybe Sam might do the same with the Samulet.
And in 11x23, Dean said that he wanted his ashes buried at this grave site. But instead of his ashes, I thought the Samulet was more poetic and fit the theme that this was a family grave with no remains in it. It just has Mary’s headstone, John’s tags, and now the samulet. And, the samulet could be a representation of both Sam and Dean and thus the family is symbolically finally together again. Idk, it depends on how people want to take it.
The dialogue was a parallel to when Sam said “I love you, Mom” at Mary’s headstone in 2x04 after he buried his Dad’s tags and I like to think of it as a sort of reply to Dean saying he loved Sam in 15x20′s barn scene.

It always makes me sad when Dean puts the Samulet in the trash. Like, I know it kind of became a symbol of failure, a symbol of God’s apathy and indifference toward the plight of his creations, a symbol of disappointment and loss of hope. But Dean loved that necklace. It was special to him because it was a gift from Sam. When Cas asked for it, Dean automatically said no. He was extremely hesitant to hand it over, and told cas very explicitly not to lose it. So to see him drop it in the garbage makes me sad. I know that Jensen didn’t wanna wear it anymore, so I get it from a production standpoint. I don’t know, I just love the samulet.

Adding into the discourse about the Samulet that if they truly got rid of it mostly because Jensen kept being hit by it during fight scenes then he's a weakass motherfucker and also pretty fucking dumb because I played volleyball for years while wearing my own samulet all the fucking time and it never hit me in the face (it occasionally got tangled in the net yes but still, manageable).

I know the Samulet had to go because it injured Jensen, but couldn't they have its cord rib symbolically during a car ride while they talk about how all hope they used to have is slipping away, and because Dean is driving he can't do anything about it but toss it over to sam. And then they are sad for a while but later they catch a break and things go up a little bit again and Sam takes a moment to fix the Samulet to Baby‘s Keychain, as a symbol for it may be different Hope now but the hope isn't as entirely gone as they thought? And when they meet Chuck Deans ass would glow because he put the keys in his pocket?
Wouldnt that be nice?

Today in art class I spent about 90% of the class talking aka info dumping about Sam’s lack of autonomy throughout the series but more specifically with the focus on the conflict about Sam and Dean’s heavens. The only thing that cut me off was the bell ringing.
