why sam’s (wii deleted you) writing is misogynistic : a 🧵
so.. when sam is first introduced, she’s characterized as “not like other girls,” point and center. while most characters in wii deleted you don’t have like, more than 3 personality traits, i think sam’s is the worst.
in the main animation, sam is the only woman in the series with a major role, let alone more than two lines. the other named women in the series (excluding sam’s mother) put down sam and talk abt her behind her back.
going back to the point where sam is the only woman in the series. sam is characterized throughout the story as “not like other girls” and generally dislikes other women around her. the entire premise of her being not like other girls gives off the idea that the writers kinda just threw her in. she also has little to no positive interaction with anyone really in the series besides eteled and even in sam’s story she doesn’t feel like a main character bc it focuses a lot on him
compared to characters even such as kyle, sam has little to no real development or characterization. by the end of sam’s story, (at least from what i remember) she had little to no development—even her last lines in her arc being similar or even almost the same as her first introductory lines. while writing this post i tried to remember any outstanding personality traits or plot points regarding sam and i could only think of ones that involved a male character, and none that revolved solely around her.
TLDR/in conclusion: the entire “not like other girls” thing sam has going is borderline mysognistic due to the fact that she’s the only woman in the series with more than two lines and a major role, and compared to male characters within the series she has little to no actual characterization beyond disliking generally “girly” things, and she doesn’t have any major plot points in her story that don’t revolve solely around her. even her own story/arc at times feels like it doesn’t revolve around her.
sorry if wording is weird. repost bc it wasn’t showing up anywhere in tags

Kyle didn't actually want to get into the fight with Sam, as he wholeheartedly believed he was doing the right thing.//Kyle en realidad no quería pelear con Sam, ya que creía de todo corazón que estaba haciendo lo correcto. 😢🤙

Female Sociopaths in Popular Media (Part 55)
Go here for Part 1. It provides an explanation for this list. Also, check out the master list which includes analyses of all the included characters. (Some analyses still may not be completed as of yet.) If this is the first part you’ve seen, reblog one of those two posts. Otherwise, feel free to reblog this one.
Sorry for being away for so long, but I'm back with my usual contribution to International Women's Day. Like always, I'm bringing in more sociopathic characters for your perusal. I'll be posting a bunch of female sociopath profiles this month (at least one a day from now until the end of the month). After that, I'll be ready to explain my absence and where this blog will be going after this month.
Pictured above:
Yuri[1] (played by Chanya McClory) from Girl from Nowhere (2018-present[2])
Catherine "Cathy" Ward (voiced by Mariya Tse (JP) and Jamie Marchi (EN)) from Angels of Death (2015) and its manga (2015-2020) and 2018 anime adaptations
the Doll Woman from Chainsaw Man Part 1 (2018-2020)
Manaka Sajyou (voiced by Aki Toyosaki) from Fate/Prototype (2011) and Fate/Prototype: Fragments of Sky Silver (2014-2017)

[1] Thanks to @nannoselliot for recommending this one.
[2] Valid as of early March 2023.
[3] Thanks to @donovaneagle2098 for recommending this one.
[4] Thanks to @rickyriddle for recommending this one.
[5] Major spoilers associated with this one.
If you wanna help me with this list, you can fact-check my profiles on the master list. I haven’t seen a lot of the things that these characters come from, so I don’t have a lot of firsthand knowledge. If you have seen/played/read any of the works that I have included, look through the profiles and see if there are any inaccuracies I need to edit.
Once I get a better flow of releasing new profiles, you suggest some characters for me to include on the list by leaving a comment on any of the posts, sending an ask, or messaging me. You’ll be credited for helping me when I include them in the gallery post. If you don’t want to be credited, just ask and I’ll leave your name off the post.

📽️ Me Before You (2016)
This is a movie that is such a good representation of the book. So many book adaptations follow the basic storyline but not much else. There was obviously some stuff they had to change, but they followed the book really closely. Which means that the ending is still devastating. The casting was also perfect, especially the two main characters. This is a great movie to watch any time, but especially if you want to cry. It’s definitely a tearjerker.
Sex/nudity: 2/10 (kissing, some talk of sex and sexual joke)
Language: 2/10 (no f-words, mostly mild stuff)
Violence: 1/10 (references to suicide attempts)
Overall rating: 8/10
