Sep 28, 2022  Ali Abbas Zafar and Salman Khan have collaborated on films like Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai and Bharat. The director-actor duo ride on a 100 percent success record and over the years, there has been constant conjecture about their fourth collaboration. In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, Ali confirmed that he is indeed planning a film with the superstar, but its too soon to comment on the timelines. Talking about the combination, Ali says, “God has been kind that my name is there with him as a combination of actor and director. I have always said that he is a huge star and I love him as a person.

”The director adds, “What I like doing with him is celebrate his stardom on the big screen and that’s what quintessential cinema fans want. Over a period of time, directors have often celebrated big stars on the screen and the audience has given a lot of love to them.

With Salman sir, I want to write characters which stand up to his persona on screen.” Ali reveals that the two decided to take a break after Bharat, but with 3 years since the release, a reunion is due. “I always told myself, when Salman sir and I reunite, it should be that film where people say that the character stood up to what we have done in past.

”So what’s the status quo on their fourth film? “Well, I am working on a character at the moment. Once that is ready, I will share it with Salman sir. Then move on to writing. Once he is happy with the film, we will be back together inshallah. It’s all work in progress at the moment.”  But does he work on characters before scripts for Salman? “Yes, because he is so big with the audience. It’s not worth making a film with him until and unless you find that right character who does some kind of justice to his persona. The character and film need to look humongous – something that the fans wait for.

”Ali concludes, “It also needs to be a story that demands his presence because his diaspora of the audience is so huge – be it in India or International belts. That’s where a major amount of my work goes and that’s what I am working on. Let’s say, I am in the process of locking a story that warrants his presence.

  Iran midfielder Saeid Ezatolahi, meanwhile, has raised doubts about the AFC appointing an Arab referee for their Asian Cup semifinal clash against the hosts and defending champions

Wednesday’s semifinal will be officiated by Kuwait’s Ahmad Al-Ali, who has taken charge of two group games and a last-16 tie at the tournament.

“What is a little bit surprising for us is that the referee for the match is from Kuwait, he’s an Arab,” Ezatolahi told reporters on Tuesday.

“We’re just wondering how it’s possible that they put an Arab as a referee for the match.

“But we are the Iran national team, we are a very big team. We have very good players, we are professional.”

Iran coach Amir Ghalenoei reiterated the rest period being “less than 72 hours” before they faced Japan while he also took a shot at the video assistant referee (VAR).

“In this tournament at least, I can say that VAR was not very kind to us. We had a situation in the match against Japan that could have been a penalty on Sardar Azmoun, but VAR did not check it for us,” he said.

“But we have to be stronger than everything that is happening at this tournament.”

Iran beat Qatar 4-0 in October, but Ghalenoei urged his team to forget about previous results as they seek a place in their first final since they won their third title in 1976.

Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal dropped a 'so-much-in-love' glimpse of himself with his wife, actor Katrina Kaif from her Maldives birthday celebrations. On Monday, Vicky treated the 'Vickat' fans with this glimpse, which he posted on his Instagram handle. Fans and celebrities have taken notice of Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal's postcard-quality photos from the Maldives.

With family and friends, the couple set out for the Maldives. At Katrina's favourite place, they celebrated her 39th birthday. On a yacht, Vicky and Katrina Kaif can be seen laughing in the photo. Vicky decided to go for a contemporary style by donning a white shirt, flaunting his new 'clean-shaved' look while Katrina donned a white dress. Vicky held Katrina's hand as they had a special moment when the sun was setting, and the moment was captured. The two could be seen having a great time together in this neutral-toned set-up.
