You probably know Kate Mulgrew from her iconic role as Captain Janeway on Star Trek: Voyager, or from her stint as Columbo's wife in the spin-off show Mrs. Columbo. For me, I know her mostly for the time she and a bunch of physicists were tricked into appearing in a pro-geocentric documentary. Good times.

Private Franklin Delano Donut is a member of the Red Team on the landmark machinima series Red vs. Blue. He exists mostly to make gay jokes, but that used to be the closest to representation we got, so. He can throw things really far and his boyfriend is also named Frank. To quote: "You spend a lot of time thinking when you grow up on a farm in Iowa... and then a lot of time repressing those thoughts!"

With Season 10 finished, here are five Death Battles MUs I'd like to see

I don't think it is surprising to anyone who follows me that I'm a fan of the Rooster Teeth acquired series Death Battle. It's probably my big guilty pleasure series, and I've talked multiple times before about Death Battle MUs that I've wanted to see, but this time, I'm taking this a bit more seriously.

So, what are the likelihoods of any of these match-ups making full episodes? Probably not very, but it's not like they're not possible to do. I'm going to make it so not all of these picks have obscure characters, but I will have a couple more obscure characters on here.

Also to make things more clean, I will be disqualifying any match-ups that have been part of my Disney Duels Polls, so these are five of the many match-ups I would like to see Death Battle tackle.

#5. Lister & Rimmer vs Grif & Simmons (Red Dwarf vs Red vs Blue)

This one is at the bottom of the list because, I've already talked to death about this one, straight up even writing my own battle between these guys, which you can read here if you're interested.

This is a really good idea though because Grif and Lister are both underachieving, slobby, kind of in a position they really don't want to be in, and Rimmer and Simmons are both uptight, arrogant, rule-following, pseudo-human smeg heads. I think this would be a really fun battle between them both, and it's about time Red vs Blue got an episode with an opponent from a different franchise.

#4. Odo vs Shane Gooseman (Star Trek: Deep Space 9 vs Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers)

Okay, I'll be honest, I know next to nothing about The Galaxy Rangers, that was not something that aired on Teletoon Retro when I was a kid, in fact I really struggled to find a good MU for Odo, so this is more of my Dad's suggestion.

Can you believe that ten seasons have gone by, and not a single Star Trek MU? No, Kirk, Spock, Picard, Q, Sisko, Bashir, Garrak, Odo, Dax, not a single MU, well I think season 11 should have one, and while I'm gonna bet they'll probably have Captain Kirk, I can hope that they make this duel between the shapeshifters of space.

#3. Cybersix vs Jack (Cybersix vs BioShock)

Okay, this one would just be awesome. These two are genetically engineered who ultimately rebel against their creators. Oh this one would be so good, I wanted to write this as a battle, but I just... never felt like it. Writing is weird, don't take it up as a hobby.

I think this would be good too because BioShock could really use an MU, it is a franchise that is fading into irrelevancy a little, which sucks because the first game was so good, but I think it still has some interest that this battle could be done. Hey, if people can still be asking for Cole MacGrath vs Alex Mercer or Travis Touchdown vs Jack Cayman, I don't see why I can't ask for this one.

#2. Katara vs Lapis Lazuli (Avatar vs Steven Universe)

Straight up, Steven Universe needs another MU, and the Crystal Gems are so full of potential for match-ups, like Garnet vs The Meta, Jasper vs Luke Cage, Pearl vs Undyne (Though I'd personally prefer Pearl vs Zuko), and one I've been hoping for for ages, Katara vs Lapis Lazuli.

Two absurdly powerful water-benders pushing each other to their limits, this one would be so good. Plus. correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they've done a full on Aquamancer themed match-up, I think the closest may be Aquaman vs SpongeBob? But that was a joke... and kinda sucked.

Anyway, number 1!

#1. Lief vs Bilbo Baggins (Deltora Quest vs Lord of the Rings)

This is the Match-up I've been wanting since season one... Okay well more specifically I was asking for Lief vs Frodo, but my brother is more of a Tolkien fan than I am and he told me that Lief vs Bilbo was a better idea, so I'll go with that one.

However, the characters don't matter too much, because the real battle I'm curious about is between the Belt of Deltora and the One Ring.

Okay, bear with me, The Belt of Deltora is a magical belt, it can only be worn by the true king and it has several gemstones on each piece, gem has a magical ability, like the Topaz which can strengthen a clean ones mind, and the Lapis Lazuli that protects from evil.

I want to know if the Belt of Deltora can protect Lief from the One Ring, and if Bilbo could use the ring's corruption to his advantage.

I was a big Deltora Quest fan in middle school, I even found the anime adaptation on YouTube, so I really want more people to get into the series and pull it from obscurity, because I really want people to talk about this with.

Anyway, these were five Death Battle Match-ups I'm itching to see, here's hoping they eventually happen.

me when it’s time for locus:

Fr the amount of lore I have stacked up in my brain for this man... all 3 of you who read these posts better be ready to do some scrolling because I am rotted in the cabeza.

Here’s some feverish rambling about one of my favorite rvb characters (of all time):

- Locus is a changeling, courtesy of my most genius moment in this AU 2 years ago. At the time I was only watching bits and pieces of DS9 whenever my mom had it on, but I got enough to immediately know it was perfect for him. Like Odo, Locus is one of the hundred baby changelings who got sent out into the galaxy with no memories. But I think he probably floated in space for a long time before landing anywhere, so he is decently old physically.

- As continued, Locus followed a similar path to Odo, but instead of landing on Bajor, he crashed onto Cardassia in the wild lands, where he lay for a very long time. Until one day, he was found by a Cardassian military group - which included Felix and Siris. Since the equivalent of the Halo Great War would be the Dominion War, that’s when this is set. At first, the Cardassians just think this is a mildly interesting slimy sample, but when set near their weapons, they find that it can transform into them. All of a sudden Locus becomes very important to the Cardassians, even more so when they discover he can change from one weapon into another. And that’s what they think he is at this point - some kind of shapeshifting weapon. This is also why they call him Locus - I’m twisting canon a bit, but I’m gonna say that a particular type of phase rifle that they use is a “Locus” model.

- Eventually, one day as the squad is sitting around talking, they start to prompt Locus to change into one of the soldiers. To all of their utter shock, they discover he can do this, and is in fact a sentient, living creature. But they are in a war after all... and he is still a weapon. (can I get a you are nothing more than a suit of armor and a gun?) Locus becomes an unofficial member of the military squad, who manages to survive in ragged numbers. He’s used both as a soldier and as a physical weapon/armor, which as he’s known nothing else but these Cardassians, he accepts as a fact of life. After the war ends and Cardassia is ravaged, his story would proceed much like it did in canon - he joins up with Felix and Siris, working as a mercenary on distant worlds. I’ll talk more about Siris once I draw him, but at some point Felix and Locus end up working together without him and eventually make their way to Chorus. Which I’ll talk more about when I draw Doyle and Kimball. Goddamn the thoughts in this head.

- Just as Odo has limits to his shapeshifting, I wanted to give some to Locus as well. He does still have to periodically rest in his liquid state, because I think that’s very funny. But his main weakness is that he’s an incredibly good shapeshifter, able to mimic people and things down the smallest detail - he’s just an incredibly terrible actor. He can look like your friend, but if he opens his mouth he cannot convince he’s them. So Locus mostly does spying/background work, which makes Felix desperately he - the “people person” - was the one who could shapeshift instead.

- Locus’s weird little obsession/mancrush with Wash is one of my favorite little details about him, and when you can literally turn into someone I think that leaves some very fun doors open. Just to explain that ridiculous second extra drawing I made.

- During the equivalent to seasons 11/early season 12, Locus is fully presenting himself as a normal Cardassian, and he and Felix are riding on basically the same backstories they use in the show - old war buddies turned rivals, etc etc. I think Felix would spin himself as a soldier who was forced to do terrible things during the war, but is trying to redeem himself by helping out the rebels (who are Bajorans in this AU). However Locus, as he is wont to do, just plays himself as an ice cold mercenary who is neutral to either side of this conflict.

- As time goes on during the late season 12/season 13 equivalent arc, Locus does spy work, frequently disguised as a Bajoran or a Human. He begins to favor these forms (as he grows more and more conflicted about himself), something that Felix absolutely hates. Post-season 13, he would rarely change into a Cardassian again. His scar is something that he keeps, though - originally he gave it to himself because the leader of the original military squad (the suit of armor and a gun guy) had the same scar, and Locus saw him as an authority/father/mentor figure. Post season 13, he keeps it a reminder to himself and to keep him in check.

- God I can talk about Locus for hours. I’m so fond of changelings. Can I get a hell yeah for any pronouns Locus? Changelings are literally The gender fluid.

Alright I’m done now, I promise I’ll be normal about the rest of this AU (lying). Next week is Siris!

It is finally starting to warm up where I live, so I'm thinking about summer... which means, obligatory RVB beach outfits! All the characters, plus two of my OCs because I like them~

First row are the "shorties", second are the giant tree people.

Left to right first row; Grif (just regular orange swim trunks, he's not fancy), Doc (he likes to go diving, so he has longer wetsuit pants with an asymmetrical purple "paint" pattern), Poppy (one OC, she has a loose "swim dress" with a flower pattern over a form-fitting suit that ends in shorts), Church (pale blue swim trunks with a plaid pattern), Tucker (form-fitting shorts with a v-cut waist and swirling aqua pattern), Kai (yellow two-piece with double-lace straps, and a light pink semi-transparent wrap-skirt), Sarge (old-fashioned one-piece suit with a red and white striped tank-top, and red shorts)

Left to right second row; Locus (wetsuit pants that end at the calf, with a green triangle-pattern as side stripes), Caboose (plain deep-blue trunks, and a light blue sleeveless beach hoodie, he likes to pull it up if his head gets hot), Tex (black sport top, dark swim trunks with pale gold/purple stars), Simmons (dark red/maroon swim trunks with a pattern similar to Star Trek Nect Gen uniforms, and a light open shirt with thin red stripes), Wash (loose white tank-top, swim trunks with a stripe pattern that goes from light-blue to almost black, yellow lines, and a shining sun design), Junonia (another OC, a seashell-top one-piece that ends in shorts, with an ocean wave pattern, purple to pink colors), Donut (pink brief swim trunks with a heart design), Carolina (dark teal asymmetrical one-piece, with a gemstone/diamond design in gold/cyan colors)

With a whopping 64 gals who are cyborgs, robots, programs, and more this is shaping up to be a fierce and fun competition!

Here are some rules and such before I give you a written list of contenders and their schedules.

RULES.

Play nice with each other. No harassment or bullying of any kind will be tolerated. It’s a silly little competition! Stay silly! Stay kind!

Think to yourself: "is what I'm about to type about my opponent something I'd like to hear about my favorite blorbo or fandom?" If the answer is "no" don't type it. Hype up your blorbo rather than trash-talk the other gal.

Propaganda is welcome and encouraged (so long as you're following rules 1 & 2). If I miss your propaganda don't hesitate to hop in my inbox and point it out to me. I don't always get notifications on this tumblr account for some reason.

HERE BE SPOILERS (potentially). I don't know every fandom in this tournament but given the nature of these sort of characters, spoilers are highly likely for character reveals! By continuing to follow this blog and participate in this tournament you're consenting to seeing spoilers. I would tag them but I genuinely don't know which characters are spoilers and which aren't.

Play nice with me, your friendly neighborhood tournament runner. I am not a professional tournament runner. I am just another person on the internet with feelings. Don't come flying into my inbox to yell at me about things like seeding, or that your specific blorbo didn't get in, or that you think a certain character doesn't count.
