Hello, people! Today, I want to introduce you to a poem by Nikolai Gumilev that is called "A Chained Knight" (original — "Рыцарь с цепью"). I haven't seen the English translation before, so I translated it myself. I am sorry for my mistakes, because my English isn't perfect, but I just couldn't leave this part of the Internet without knowing this beautiful piece of poetry. This is the first time I ever write poetry in English. Enjoy!
A Chained Knight.
I can hear the folks are blowing horns and calling me away.
Once again, I'm conquistador, and, oh boy, I'm on my way!
Like a slave, I was in bonds, lived like a bird with broken wing,
And I couldn't see it coming, coming of the mighty spring.
Though she came, with scarlet flowers, rivers flowing through her veins,
She was jealous, and she shattered all my miserable chains.
Once again, I headed forward, up the mountains I climbed,
I was breathing ocean waters, so my wounds would heal with time,
And, renewed, I hurried further, to a land unknown before.
I remembered all, but wasn't really bitter anymore.
So, to keep in mind my failures, feats and everything I gained,
To my silver proud helmet, I will forge my broken chain.
Thank you for reading!

"I didn't fall in love with you. I walked into love with you, with my eyes wide open, choosing to take every step along the way. I do believe in fate and destiny, but I also believe we are only fated to do the things that we'd choose anyway. And I'd choose you; in a hundred lifetimes, in a hundred worlds, in any version of reality, I'd find you and I'd choose you"
I just want someone to grab my little face and scream "ON PURPOSE, ON PURPOSE I AM GOING TO CARE ABOUT YOU"
Chidi Anagonye : Can I ask you a question? Soulmates aren't... real, are they?
Michael : Chidi, in all honesty, I don't know. But I don't think so.
...
Michael : If soulmates do exist, they're not found, they're made. People meet, they get a good feeling, and then they get to work building a relationship.
