Everything we know about Diavolo so far, lore wise.

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR ALL SEASONS

➤ He's the prince and future king of the Devildom, and the founder of RAD — the Royal Academy of Diavolo — taking the position of Student Council President. (swd: 1-1)

➤ He created the exchange program as a first step towards his goal of strengthening the relationships between the three realms and forming an allyship between angels, demons and humans. (swd: 1-1)

➤ He has the ability to discern the truth from the lie. (swd: 4-1)

➤ He was the one to step in and save MC from being attacked by Lucifer in the underground tomb. (swd: 6-6)

➤ He hasn't seen his father in several centuries now and only knows that the Demon King is somewhere in the bottom of the Devildom. (swd: 7-10)

➤ Unlike Lucifer, he saw MC's pacts with the brothers as a good thing from the very beginning. To him, MC's pacts were proof that demons and humans could put aside their differences and actually form bonds together. And that made him happy, considering it was all he wanted with the exchange program. (swd: 8-19)

➤ Before, citizens of the Devildom were allowed to travel to the Human World whenever they wished through passages spread through the kingdom, but Diavolo changed that after taking over the throne. Now, those passages are blocked and the only way demons can use them is by getting permission from Diavolo, Lucifer, or Barbatos - the only demons apart from his father who are allowed to use them freely. (swd: 11-4)

➤ When the eight siblings were cast down to the Devildom and Lilith was in the verge of death from the battle, Lucifer begged Diavolo to save her and he did, having her reborn in the Human World with no memories of her previous life. This came with a cost, however, said cost being Lucifer's loyalty to the prince for the rest of time. (swd: 14-10 and 15-7)

➤ He ordered Barbatos to imprison Belphegor in the castle for plotting treason and put Lucifer under house arrest for protecting the youngest by locking him attic and not telling Diavolo about his plans. (swd: 13-14)

➤ He knew about Belphegor's situation from the beginning, and told this to Lucifer when he arrived in the castle with the others asking for him to free him. "...Truth be told, I knew. I knew you were hiding Belphegor, and I knew why. Your loyalty to me forced you to deceive your brothers, and I knew that was a source of guilt. I saw how you struggled with it - how hard it was being pulled in two directions at once. And it made me sad." (swd: 15-12)

➤ He refused to free Belphegor at first, but eventually made a deal with MC: to release him from prison if they went back in time with the help of Barbatos' powers and found out who had freed him in the first place. (swd: 15-14)

➤ He had Barbatos trace down MC's bloodline and found out that they were a descendant of Lilith because of it. (swd: 16-15)

➤ On his birthday he decided to not only celebrate himself but also MC, to give them a "late welcome party" and show appreciation for them after everything that had happened. (swd: 18-A)

➤ He was suspicious of Solomon for suddenly showing up in the Devildom with MC unannounced (swd: 21-4) but arranged things so they would be able to stay for a while. (swd: 22-19)

➤ When Lucifer and his siblings fell Diavolo found them in the colosseum, and every now and then he finds himself going there and pondering over his past decisions and wondering if they were the correct ones after all. (swd: 24-13)

➤ He was the first Solomon talked to about his suspicions that MC was connected to the natural disasters happening in ancient locations around the realms, and for a while only the two of them and Barbatos knew about it (swd: 37-4), since Diavolo decided to keep it a secret from everyone else until he had proof of MC's powers being harmful to the realms (swd: hard mode, 32-16).

➤ He had MC undergo the standard magic exams that demons students are given at RAD, and although he initially told MC it was to help them learn more about the powers demons possess and how to control them (swd: 29-5), it was actually a test to see if their magic was as powerful as Solomon suspected. The sorcerer was proven right when MC passed each of them. (swd: 37-4)

➤ His secrecy and unusual reliance on Solomon caused a strain on his relationship with Lucifer, as the eldest knew that Diavolo was hiding something but refused to tell him. They eventually had a conversation in the colosseum after RAD's exams week ended, where Lucifer directly enquired him about what was happening. Diavolo refused to tell him, saying it wasn't "the right time" for him to know yet, and when Lucifer asked if whatever secret he was keeping involved MC the prince replied that he wasn't certain yet, further concerning him. (swd: 28-C)

➤ He's "not fond" of Simeon because he finds him difficult to deal with it and told this to the angel's face while speaking to him. When Simeon asked Diavolo why he found him difficult to deal with, he answered saying that it's because angels never divulge anything about themselves or the Celestial Realm but are constantly inserting themselves into Devildom business, and he's specially not fond of Simeon because he hides his true intentions better than any angel Diavolo has ever met. (swd: hard mode, 31-16 )

➤ He's so not fond of and unsure of how to deal with Simeon that when he finally decided to let him in on the secret and make him aware of MC's powers being a threat to the three realms he asked Solomon to break the news instead of doing it himself. (swd: 32-16)

➤ He eventually decided to tell Lucifer about MC’s situation and through text apologized to the Avatar of Pride for leaving him in the dark for so long and asked him to meet him so he could finally let him in on what was happening (swd: hard mode, 36-16). Unfortunately that meeting never happened, since Lucifer ended up affected by MC’s powers and lost his memories before Diavolo could explain anything to him. (swd chat: the fantastic three, untitled)

➤ Finally breaking the news to everyone, he and Solomon told the others everything, from the moment the sorcerer started growing suspicions about MC's powers to the moment that their powers struck Lucifer and he lost his memories. They also presented their only solution(s): to sever MC's pacts with the Night Dagger in order to break their magical connections to the brothers and make them an avarage human again. There was another solution: to stabilize MC's magic with the Ring of Light - the counterpart to the Ring of Wisdom that once belonged to Lucifer - but it was discarded right away as the ring had been lost in the Great Celestial War and no one knew its whereabouts. (swd: 37-9)

➤ Once everyone knew the whole story, he apologized to MC for not finding another way to prevent their magic from causing massive destruction to the realms, since he knew neither MC or the brothers wanted to sever their pacts with the each other. (swd: 37-9)

➤ When all things ended well and MC was able to get their powers under control without using the Night Dagger thanks to the Ring of Light that Simeon found just in time, Diavolo organized a party to honor MC and celebrate the victory. (swd: 39-1)

➤ He showed no surprise when MC expressed wanting to stay in the Devildom instead of going back to the Human World but still refused the request. (swd: 39-10) Later, with everyone, he explained why he didn't want MC to live in the Devildom permanently. “...All of you... I want you to listen carefully to what I'm about to say. I don't want MC to be a demon...or an angel, for that matter. No, I want MC to be a human. A human who understands us, and who works together with Solomon to shepherd the human world toward a better future… Someday I'd like MC to work alongside me to bring harmony to the three worlds. Which is precisely why I won't allow you to be stuck here in the Devildom, MC. I want you to learn more about the three worlds and to understand each of them better... The human world, the Devildom, and the Celestial Realm.” (swd: 40-22)

➤ He couldn't accompany the brothers on their vacation to the Human World at first because of work and told MC he often found it hard to get things done with everything being so quiet since the others weren't in the Devildom with him. (swd: 42-18)

➤ When tasked with the over the kingdom in his father's absence, the first thing Diavolo did was to start conciliating with Celestial Realm to end the conflict between the two realms. For this, he started having meetings with high-ranking angels to explain his plans and hopefully reach and an agreement of peace between the realms. That was how he met Lucifer in the first place, when the angel came down the Devildom to hear what he had to say. (swd: 44-12, 44-15 and swd card: Lucifer, Glory Days)

➤ He's a majority shareholder of the Three-Legged Crow Group otherwise called Yatagarasu, the largest company in the Devildom that's been expanding business in the Human World with their technology devices. (swd: 47-11)

➤ He “went missing” to purposely lead everyone to the karaoke place owned by Yatagaeasu where the brothers and MC had to play a game and get a perfect singing score in order to get out and would vanish from the room if they failed. His reason for this as he told MC later was because had been missing everyone ever since being left in the Devildom while the others were in the Human World, saying that being alone with no one but Barbatos by his side had made him remember how things used to be before the brothers started living in the Devildom and that had made him terribly lonely. In that same conversation, Diavolo also admitted that he felt jealous of the brothers for being able to spend so much time MC. (swd: 48-12 and 48-15)

➤ Later on during an outing with Lucifer after being confronted with the fact that the karaoke ordeal had been orchestrated by him, Diavolo explained his reasons this time to Lucifer and opened up about feeling jealous of MC as well. “I wonder, when was it, exactly? When did you and your brothers become so very important to me? I thought I'd never be able to become ‘one of you.’ It seemed ridiculous to even try, because it was just obvious that I couldn't. But then MC did just that... Effortlessly fitting in with the seven of you to become just another one of the gang. More than that, actually. MC is part of your family now. And when I saw that, it may have made me a little jealous. And while I haven't wanted to admit it to myself up to now...the truth is, I think I was lonely.” (swd: hard mode, 50-16)

➤ His mother died shortly after giving birth to him and he was raised by his father who was very strict and gave him a sheltered childhood, so much so he rarely ever left the castle. (swd: 56-18)

➤ He met Barbatos for the first time when he was still a child and the older demon was the first person he met from outside the castle. The older demon amazed him with stories of the outside world, and little Diavolo begged him to stay with him, getting to the point of threatening not to assume his position of king in the future if Barbatos left him. (swd: 56-18)

➤ When the brothers at the farewell party asked if they could make MC “officially part of the family” by marrying them, Diavolo explained that demons and humans aren't able to marry yet but that he'll do everything he can so one day that'll be possible. “MC, you aren't aware of this, but some bad blood still exists between our three worlds. No matter how much all of you may want this to happen, it's not something I have the power to do on my own. [...] However, my ultimate goal is to eliminate these barriers someday. And I will do everything in my power to make sure that happens.” (swd: 60-15)

➤ A while after MC left Diavolo sent them a magic letter and asked them to come to the Devildom for a third time because he had something important to discuss with them. (swd: 61-4) And that something turned out to be a request for MC to participate in the exchange program for a second time and an invitation for them to be a new member of the student council. (swd: 62-17)

➤ The intentions for this second try of the exchange program was mostly the same but now with a different approach, as Diavolo explained to everyone in the meeting then: “Our last exchange program was meant to provide an opportunity for cultural exchange among the inhabitants of all three worlds. But nothing more than that. Think of it as merely a starting point on the path to mutual understanding. But this time, the goal of the program is to make a stronger case for mutual understanding. Directed at everyone both inside and outside of the Devildom.” (swd: 62-17)

➤ He's known Mephistopheles ever since they were children. (nb: 13-11)

➤ Initially, his father was the main reason why he was determined to be a good king and why he even rescued the brothers in the first place. He craved the king's approval, wanted to live up to his name, show himself worthy of the throne, and eventually surpass him. He was forced to face this truth when he was younger during his last trial of the Kingsblood Crucible - a traditional ritual that demons of royalty have to go through before they take the throne. (nb: 14-7)

➤ After MC was officially appointed as the 9th member of the Student Council and the short-term exchange program ended, he gave them an “entry permit” so they could travel from the Human World to the Devildom whenever they wanted. (swd: 80-22)

Yandere Asmodeus x Cupid Mc

A/N: This was unedited and scrambled. I might add on to this in the future- but for now this is just some brain rot lol. If anyone wants to add on or use this idea for themselves, feel free! Just give me credit ^^

Cupid! Mc who would spend centuries doing their duties as a cupid, walking amongst the human world and influcing the feeling of love amongst people.

Cupid! Mc, who was the cupid of Eros, often pondered if demons could ever fall in love. Love is a natural feeling, whether it be platonic, romantic, or familial - so could the worst of the worst feel something genuine like that?

Cupid! Mc was curious when they heard about the exchange program for angels, demons, and humans to get along. Maybe they would get to meet new creatures alike!

Cupid! Mc, who decided to apply to the program out of pure wonder if a creature who was neither angelic, demonic, or human could join the Royal Academy of Diavolo.

Cupid! Mc who often found themselves the main attraction of the school. Somehow, always finding a group of demons staring at them with malicious intent.

Cupid! Mc who somehow found themselves befriending a group of incubi and sucubi. It was eye-opening meeting a bunch of beings who were the polar opposite of you. Regardless, they helped you around while they bombarded you with questions.

Cupid! Mc, after staying in devildom for years, would eventually be introduced to the king of lust himself, Asmodeus. With the personification of love being in hell, of course, the personification of lust would come along.

Asmodeus! Who would rush at you with exciment, stating how he's it's been a while since he's encountered a cupid and asked how your goddess the "Bitchy jealous Aphrodite" was doing.

Asmodeus! Who would always stick by your side, claiming how a dove like you should be careful in hell. Generously offering to be your tour guide while he showered you with companionship.

Asmodeus! As the king of lust, was surprisingly modest with you. To your surprise, he was in no rush to get in between your pants but rather trying his hardest to keep his reputation with you on a good note.

Asmodeus! Who you soon got to know as a close friend was a selfish individual. Casually sleeping with those left and right while breaking hearts along the way simply because he was bored.

Cupid! Mc, who doesn't expect much from the avatar of lust just simply accepts him for who he is. They don't understand why lust is so tempting for someone.. Regardless, they simply turn the other way and continue to treat Asmodeus as a friend.

Cupid! Mc, who begins to find themselves closer with Asmodeus. No longer seeing them just as the avatar of lust - but a trustworthy friend they could gossip with and someone to go to advice.

Asmodeus! Who is conflicted about how he feels about Mc begins to question them and their relationship. After all, someone always wants something..

"Ruining people's lives, preying on innocent people. No. Of course not! But, you've been good to me, and I think that's the best you've done. Why? Aren't you usually like 'Oh! Well they deserved it!' Or 'Meh, sucks to be them'?"

"I mean yeah! They were asking for it. It's not like I directly ruined their lives. They came to me first! But you..Aren't you disgusted of me?"

"No, actually not at all. I get it. We're similar actually. Constantly chasing a high that only someone can give us..Yeah?"

"Yeah..You..You get me"

Asmodeus! Who gained a new perspective about you eversince that conversation begins to feel..Anxious about you. He's never felt this way, and he hates it. He's never felt so insecure about his relationship with someone.

Asmodeus! Who begins to scratch at his skin whenever he sees you talk amongst other demons. Jealousy..He's never felt it before with others.. Why was it with you?

Asmodeus! Who wants to get rid of this awful feeling, sleeps around with whoever he can find. Trying to distract himself from you plauging his mind. But no matter what, it never helped..

Asmodeus! Who slowly loses his mind whenever you speak your mind. When was the last time someone spoke to him without wanting something? If you were to leave, would he ever have that again?

Asmodeus! Who slowly reveals his ugly flaws around you. He's slowly falling at the seems with his alienated feelings towards you..

Asmodeus! Who finally snaps under the pressure of his internal struggle decides to do something about it. His solution? Keeping you locked up until he figures out what you are to him and what he wants with you.

Asmodeus! Who sweetly smiled at you, wrapping his arms around your waist while cooing those words that seemed to mush inside your head.

Asmodeus! Who had successfully lulled you inside his room keeps you locked up in a nice set of chains.

Asmodeus! Who reveals himself to be a desperate and emotionally starved demon, whines for your attention and affection. Threatening to clip off your wings whenever you ignore him, blaming you for bewitching him to fall in love with you. That's what it was, right?!

Asmodeus! Who after pulling you into a kiss realises what you are to him. You're more than just a typical hookup or 'partner'. You were someone he genuinely loved. Which was embarrassing him to admit since he always believed:

"Love and lust cannot mix. Literally, I'm not capable of it. No matter how much someone treats me good, unfortunately for them, I won't fall in love. Hell, I don't think I've ever had an actual butterflies in my stomach crush for anyone!"

Asmodeus! Even though obessed and greedy for your attention- it is pathetically starved for your approval. He won't push any moves on you, but he'll constantly shower you with kisses, self care, and gifts just to see you contempt!

MC IS CAUGHT CHEATING IN THE EXAM

Ft. MC and the 7 Demon Bros, Diavolo, Barbatos and teacher.

PROLOGUE

You completely forgot that your Devildom History class was having a test today. It was just a minor test, not the final exam for the whole school, so only the students in your class had to take it. Levi was also in this class, but he studied online. An online test was arranged on another date for him and other online students, with different questions in the test of course.

With no time to study for the test, you had two choices: confess to Lucifer before the test and expect mercy or cheat. The former was obviously the better choice, but the temptation was too strong and you chose the latter.

THE STORY:

“MC!”

It was not your lucky day, the octopus-head teacher caught you looking at the cheat sheets hidden in your pocket in the middle of the exam.

Cheating in exam in RAD is considered a major issue. The teacher took a pic of your cheat sheets as evidence. They also made a report, attached the evidence to it and sent it to Barbatos, who delivered it to Diavolo.

The Student Council’s Assembly Hall

Diavolo received the report from Barbatos and began to read it, his face grim.

“A student cheated during the exam.” Diavolo finally spoke.

Mammon: “Who would be foolish enough to cheat in the exam!?”

Levi: “Fr!”

“It’s MC.”

The whole Council froze.

Mammon: “You must be joking, Lord Diavolo!”

Levi: “I…i…impossible!”

Satan: “I refuse to believe it.”

Asmo: “No way!”

Beel: “MC is a good person, they would never do that.”

Belphie: “There must be some understanding.”

“It’s the truth. The teacher even provided evidence.” Diavolo handed the report to Lucifer.

“Diavolo…let me take care of it.”

“Alright, I trust you with this, Lucifer.”

After being caught cheating in the exam, you felt too embarrassed to stay at RAD and went back to HoL early. You shut yourself in the room, lied on bed without changing out of your uniform, waiting for the punishment to come.

“WHAT!?”

You scowled at the six brothers, who was peeking at you through the crack between the door and its frame.

“M…MC…”

“NO!”

5 minutes later, the eldest appeared and opened the door to your room.

“MC, my study.”

You got up and followed Lucifer without a word. You kept your head down at all time. The other brothers looked at you and gulped, one by one. It was like the an executioner was leading you to the guillotine.

Lucifer sat behind the desk, he motioned for you to sit at the chair across him. You sat down gently and dared not to make a sound. The whole time you kept looking down at your hands.

“MC, look up, look into my eyes.”

Although you didn’t want to look up because the guilt was weighing down on you, you couldn’t defy Lucifer.

“MC, do you know what you did wrong?”

“I...I cheated in the exam.” you answered.

“I can’t say that I’m not disappointed when I heard about the cheating. But there’s one more thing you did wrong.”

“One more thing? I...I don’t know.”

Lucifer stood up and walked to you. The action of the big demon made you subconsciously stood up as well. You thought Lucifer was gonna punish you harshly, but what happened next surprised you. The prideful demon embraced you.

“You should have told us whenever you met any difficulty, MC. If my brothers are busy or unreliable, you should go straight to me, I always have time and energy to help you. The moment I heard you cheated in the exam, I was disappointed, but more than that, I was so sad because you didn’t trust us, especially me, to help you.”

“I...I’m sorry.” you hugged him back “I knew that I should have talked with you, b...but...” a tear escaped your eye.

“Lucifer, look! I got full mark on the test.” you showed the eldest your paper.

“Hahaha, good job! I guess I shall give you a reward! How’s about a meal at Hell’s Kitchen?”

Speaking of which, guess who showed up at the Newspaper Clubroom this morning after having been "missing" for the past week, once again demanding that one of his brothers be banned from naming days

still my scenario of what happens if we can go back to the original timeline but i made it longer.

set in nightbringer timeline

mc's gender is not mentioned

You have made seven pacts with the seven most powerful demons in Devildom, and now what?

You got your power back; Solomon got his power back, and now what?

And now what?

"Your" seven demons are now happier than ever and are unaware that your pacts with them is only for you to return to a world where they do not exist. You love Devildom, but this is not your Devildom, this may not even be the Devildom you are allowed to exist. You love your seven demons, but these demons are not demons that you want to be with.

You are contradictory, obviously.

And now what?

You remember the reason why Nightbringer brought you to this world: "to find happiness", right? You were happy; you were truly happy. In this world, you have found happiness and you are sure that Nightbringer must be satisfied with the result by now. Satan has accepted himself as part of the family; the remaining six brothers have overcome the trauma from that brutal war and now accept themselves as demons—the most powerful demons in this Devildom.

And now what?

Your role here has ended. Just like the times you accidentally returned to the past before, the seven brothers, Diavolo, Barbatos, Luke, and Simeon—of this world will completely forget you; only the effects of what you did will be the only thing that is left behind. Have you made the people you love into the people you love now, you wondered? You don't understand. You don't know. Everything that has happened to you now is like a dream you cannot run away from.

And now what?

You feel scared.

You suddenly think of familiar faces and voices that you haven't seen or heard for a long time - faces and voices belonging to the demons and angels of the world you came from. How worried were they when you suddenly disappeared from their life? How long have you been here? Have they forgotten you? And you are afraid. You are always afraid. But at this moment, the moment you are about to return to your home, fear is like a tsunami coming, washing away all the words of self-reassurance that you whispered to yourself before, washing away all the stronghold of reasons that you gave yourself. The castle which you once built up in your mind crumbles, and fear occupies the desolate land of your soul. You are afraid. You are afraid that you have caused pain to those you love while pretending to be happy in this timeline. You are afraid that those you love have given up while waiting for you. Or perhaps there was a moment when you chose to give up on returning to them; or perhaps, for a moment, you forgot the despair they suffered. And you are afraid.

And now what?

You must return.

You need to go back.

You have no choice; you have no other answer.

You took advantage of "their" love, even though the formation of the pact between you and the seven brothers was based on free will; you still think that you took advantage of "them," the demons of the past, only to return to your demons in the present.

You did everything: helping the brothers overcome the pain of war, establishing Royal Academy of Diavolo, forging pacts with the seven most powerful demons—all of that, just to return to your timeline and your world.

Perhaps you are indeed Solomon's student, who is now standing in front of Diavolo and Barbatos, expressing his regret at "having to return to the human world due to some sudden works ". Diavolo once again expressed his gratitude as prince of Devildom, and Barbatos once again informed you and Solomon that the portal to travel between worlds was ready.

And there they are, behind your back. You had told them about this a few weeks ago, and you had said all sorts of goodbye. And there they were, looking at you. They stand there, and have no idea that this "unexpected return trip" is just a lie, a pathetic lie. You will return, as you promised, but not to this place—a place that belongs to an old timeline, a place that belongs to the past. But you will return; you mutter it again. No matter what, you'll keep your promise, right? Because you always keep your promises, isn’t that why they love you so much?

The portal is opened, and you turn around to see the demons of this world one last time. You know you must not be attached, sad, or sentimental. You are not allowed to, you don't deserve to. You do not belong to this world; you also don’t belong to these demons in the same way that these demons will not belong to you.

Your eyes meet Lucifer's ruby eyes; you cannot see any emotion in those eyes. Somehow, Lucifer is sure that you will never return to him, at least in this world. He once heard you call his name in such a familiar and strange way that it tore his heart apart. You said you would return—to return to that beloved name that he could never compare to. Perhaps it's because of his fantasy, or because of the absolute trust he places in you, or because he loves you so much that he can't bear to expose your clumsy lies; he hopes, hopes, hopes you will come back.

Mammon cannot look straight at you; he never could, nor could Mammon in your world. Is he trying to hold back the tears that he never wants you to see? Or does he know that as long as his eyes meet yours, he will never be able to let you leave? But you know he is always looking at you, always like that.

Levi lowers his head, Satan waves goodbye to you, and you can see tears forming in Asmo's eyes. Beel gives you the saddest look that you know would haunt you in the back of your mind, while Belphie buries his face in his twin's chest.

You look at them one last time, as if you would never see each other again. And perhaps that is the truth; you never will. Your image in their minds will be erased once you return to your timeline. That's how time works. That is the law of time and space. They will be happy until they see you again. They will be happy without your memory until you see them again.

You don't want them to see you cry. You will meet your demons again. Soon, as soon as you return to your own time, you will meet them again—or rather, thousands of years later. You will meet them again and return to the place you always called home, as you promised. “I'll see everyone again soon, I promise.”

And you turns around.

Solomon wraps his arms around your shoulders and leads you through Barbatos's time-space portal. When this gate leads you and Solomon back to the Human World, Barbatos in your-world will open another gate to bring you and Solomon back to the old timeline. You don't know how Solomon and Barbatos in your-world communicated with each other, but perhaps there are things you have to live long enough to understand.

You hardly remember very well all that happened after you and Solomon passed through the gate, even if you had done this countless times before. Solomon holds on tight to you while you keep your eyes shut. You feel dizzy and tired. You feel like you are walking through countless gates of a tunnel without any light. Solomon holds you tightly in his arms, leaves you nestled in this thick cloak, as if he let go for even a moment, he was scared that you would disappear from his life one more time and he couldn't bring you back. You don't know how much time passed, and Solomon stops. He still doesn't loosen his grip on you. Then, you can hear his whisper, "…Are you ready to go back?".

You cannot answer Solomon. You feel sweat trickling down your temples as your spine turns cold. You don't know; are you ready to go back? Are you ready? Are you worthy of returning? Fear once again takes hold of your mind, like a monster is swallowing you whole. Are you worthy of returning? Are you worth it or not? You remember the first day Nightbringer took you to the past. In that timeline, the strange look they once gave you are still a horrifying nightmare that haunts you to today. What should you do if they forget you again? Or worse, what should you do if you and Solomon can never return to the timeline you belong to? You don't know, and perhaps you would have let fear overcome you if Solomon hadn't once again tightened his grip. You open your eyes and raise your head, facing Solomon's smokey purple eyes. Just like you promised your demon brothers, Solomon also promised that he would bring you back.

You take a deep breath, and maybe you're not ready, and maybe you never will be, but you always keep your promise.

“Let's go, Solomon.” You slightly nod to the sorcerer, and Solomon gives you the confident smile he always wears as an assurance. You close your eyes again, and you hear Solomon begin to mutter the teleportation spell, and you feel yourself begin to fall.

One.

Two.

Three.

You think you are used to teleporting like this, but it turns out you can never land properly.

You fall straight on top of someone.

You slowly open your eyes, and what you see was the familiar ceiling of the student council hall.

You look around, and the demons in the room stare at you in disbelief.

There are the emerald green eyes that stare at you in disbelief.

And before you can identify whether you are truly returning home or still sticking in the past, a pair of arms tightens around you, and there is a trembling voice: “You're back…"

Somehow, you know that you have truly returned.

You hear your voice trembling too.

"I'm back.”

The Butler Types (Jade/MC/Barbatos)

Jade has no fears. What is it? There's a demon butler visiting NRC? Jade has one fear.

NOTE: I only write for female reader but everyone is welcome to read it!

I'm bitter because it's my birthday and Halloween Jade refuses to come, so I'll celebrate it with the better butler boy. *glares at Jade*

Jade is not one for fear.

Sure, he has his fair share of them. One simply does not grow up in Coral Sea without developing some. But one also simply does not grow in Coral Sea without losing some.

So Jade isn't one for fear.

But why does it have to be a butler type?

Jade can only watch, eye twitching in a nervous tic he got from Azul, as his crush ogles at the demon butler in front of her, hanging at his every word and blushing under his gaze.

His name is Barbatos, he is the loyal butler of Lord Diavolo, the Crown Prince of Devildom and the Headmaster of the Royal Academy of Diavolo, one of the few schools that might be older than NRC and even Crowley himself.

And he's exactly (Y/N)'s type.

A good looking, devilish butler with a gentle appearance and behavior who hides something darker and dangerous behind his tea brewing skills and overall otherworldly excellence? Big hell yes from her.

Why does Jade know that? Jade knows everything he possibly can about his crush, including the knowledge that he is exactly her type.

Or, at least, he's the closest anyone at NRC can get to her type.

He understandably did not account for possible visits from the Devildom, a Kingdom that has kept to itself for most, if not all, of its existence, and now he's paying the price. Floyd, the menace, is having a field day, watching from the bench they share as his other half gets more and more agitated while the demon charms Shrimpy.

"Oh, I'm sorry, am I holding you up? You must be busy with Lord Diavolo– I mean, with helping Lord Diavolo," Jade feels like eating glass at the enamoured look (Y/N) sends the demon, clearly not wanting to part but also not wanting to be rude.

"No need to worry, my lady, the Young Lord has given me some free time while he speaks with Lord Crowley," Barbatos gives her a smile the eel just knows is making her legs weak. "And I'm enjoying your company very much."

Barbatos is particularly hateful because he's actually being nice. His niceness is inherent, not trained like Jade's. And the eel can tell the Prefect can tell, she's good at judging one's character. It's one of the reasons why they get along so well, she can tell when Jade is being genuine or not, a skill very few have.

If only that skill wasn't helping the green haired demon get closer to her.

"O–oh, I see..." The girl places her hands on her burning cheeks, and Jade feels another bitter sting. That is his face, that's the face only he can get from her when he compliments her. "Thank you for your kind words."

"All of them true, I assure you."

"Oh, stop it, I'm already blushing."

"It was not my intention to make you uncomfortable, my lady, but... I must admit you look very lovable," Barbatos offers a hand to her, one she shyly takes, only to then squeak when he places a soft kiss on the back of her hand. "Please, allow me to be selfish and keep you by my side for a few more moments."

Enough.

Jade walks so fast, it almost feels like he's swimming through the air. Floyd's loud laugh follows him like a predator, together with a playful "go get'em, tiger shark". As soon as he reaches the duo, he takes a silent deep breath, making sure his usual smile is on his face as he takes (Y/N)'s other hand, a privilege he earned, and brings it to his chest, right on his beating heart

"There you are, Prefect. I've been looking for you."

"J–Jade!" The eel is more than please to see her eyes completely leave the other to focus solely on him, the blush on her pretty face now all his.

When he looks up, mismatched eyes meet green eyes, and he can tell Barbatos has been fully aware of his presence from the very beginning. A sharp—quite literally—smile forms on his face at the annoyance in the other's eyes.

Ah, the greed of a servant who finally found something they want to be selfish about.

Would be entertaining if what the demon wanted wasn't Jade's already.
