I am begging people to understand that reproductive rights is as much the right to become and remain pregnant as it is to terminate a pregnancy.
Encouraging all people capable of being pregnant to get their tubes tied or get a hysterectomy isn't the solution you think it is.
Most people who get abortions do so because they want to be able to get pregnant in the future.
Back-alley abortions often leave people unable to become pregnant again, even if they want to. Legal, safe abortion ensures that a person can terminate a pregnancy while still retaining the option and ability to become pregnant again.
PoC, disabled people, and trans and intersex people have historically been barred from the right to get pregnant and reproduce. These marginalized groups have faced sterilization and maternal mortality for a long time.
If you think reproductive justice is only about the right to *not* be pregnant, you are woefully misinformed.
Reproductive justice means people should be able to control their own bodies, whether it means ending or preventing a pregnancy, or becoming pregnant and remaining pregnant.
Reproductive justice means that healthcare providers should and must address the barriers and dangers PoC, disabled people, and trans and intersex people face when it comes to obstetrics and gynecology.
Reproductive justice means lowering the maternal mortality rate for black people in America.
Reproductive justice means not sterilizing disabled people and providing safe options for disabled people who want to become pregnant.
Reproductive justice means acknowledging that trans people may want to become pregnant and not mandating they be sterilized in order to legally transition.
Reproductive justice means not sterilizing intersex babies and children in the attempt to make them fit into a dyadic, binary sex.
Reproductive justice is not just about abortions.

i just wanted to say this, to anyone in the united states that follows me, i’m so fucking sorry.
abortion is healthcare, healthcare is a human right.
a fetus has no right to be in YOUR body for months without permission, to use your organs.
if there was any sense in that bloody supreme court, they would acknowledge your right to remove that fetus from your body.
also, if anyone here supports the overturning of roe v wade, get fucked. you’re not welcome on my account and you never will be.
*edit* pro lifers, when i said you’re not welcome here, i meant it. do not interact with this or any other of my posts. fuck. off.

seeing as today is the anniversary of roe v wade being overturned, i would like to remind everyone that you can petition your state government to put abortion rights on the ballot and there is currently a petition in florida to do just that.
if you’re a registered florida voter, you can print, fill out, and mail this petition to help contribute :)

⚠️⚠️ATTN AMERICANS⚠️⚠️
ROE V WADE HAS BEEN OVERTURNED BY THE SUPREME COURT
ABORTION LAWS WILL BE UP TO THE STATES. GOING ACROSS STATE LINES FOR AN ABORTION WILL LIKELY BE A FELONY
We are F U C K E D
If you need someone to go ‘camping’ with, hmu and I will help you be so comfortable for our camping trip. Also Nurx provides birth control for cheap (free with insurance) as well as next day plan B pills all through the mail. No doc note needed.
Plan b does not work if you weigh over 165 so you would need two. You can buy they off brand on Amazon and at Costco for cheaper than Walgreens or cvs.
DELETE PERIOD TRACKERS OFF YOUR PHONES IF YOU HAVE THEM. THEY WILL USE THIS AGAINST YOU IF YOU HAPPEN TO GET PREGNANT AND MISCARRY. YOU WILL BE CHARGED WITH A CRIME. PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE APPS.

Attorney General Merrick Garland denounced the recent Supreme Court ruling on abortion, stating that it would "disproportionately effect people of color".
In other words, he is literally bemoaning the fact that more Black infants are going to get to live out their full lives.

absolutely mind-boggling that there are people out there who consider themselves feminists but don't support abortion.
reproductive rights are the most fundamental women's rights imaginable. misogyny comes from men controlling our bodies and pro-birthism is an extension of that. there is no such thing as a "pro-life feminist."

Fuck peaceful protests.
If the oppressors deem your protest acceptable, then it's not a fucking protest.
It's just their way to ignore you.
If we can't be safe
Then neither should they.

You’ve got to be kidding me: https://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/education/article/texas-gcisd-transgender-policy-bans-17392782.php
Not only is this transphobic, enbyphobic, and trans misogynistic but it’s just plain wrong why should we have to fight to be who we are and the gender we are? It’s wrong and unfair. It’s always Texas too! They’re not the reason roe v Wade got overturned but without them it wouldn’t have happened, because of them now we might not even be able to be ourselves or marry who we want. I’ll put it simply: at the end of the day gender is yes an expression and identity but also little more than a formality when at the end of the day we’re all human beings. Why do we have to fight to be treated halfway decent? I’m so sick and tired of this shit but we can’t give up fighting! We need to keep fighting because time and time again it’s been shown and proven that fighting back and protesting can lead to change and better results. An example being the AIDS crisis, lgbtq+ people kept fighting for a faster cure and in the end the CDC relented and lo and behold they found a cure (not cure but made it manageable) faster and now you can live with AIDS and others wouldn’t even know it. Don’t stop fighting, loves. You’re brave and beautiful and need to speak your truth!

Pro Lifers are really Pro Birthers. If they were actually Pro lifers, they'd promote better sex education that isn't just abstinence, promote better health care to allow people to have more access to reproductive health and birth control medication, better education, and increase gun control to actually protect the kids already alive and the future ones they want to be born. They'd promote the increased funding of the foster care system and care more about the children that struggle through the system and face abuse by not only their Social Worker or Foster family, but also society. They'd learn of juvenile delinquency and the consequences that how society treats struggling children forced those children to continue to struggle. They'd want to increase minimum wage and access to services to help the poor. They'd be more open and fight against stigma surrounding abuse, rape, mental health, and protect lgbtqia+ kids. Instead, they are just taking away human rights and forcing themselves into people's private lives. Instead, they are forcing those children they apparently so care about to carry a pregnancy to term. Instead, they are punishing those of sexual abuse by forcing them to carry a pregnancy they do not want and even face felony charges and harsher punishments than a rapist receives. They are forcing people to continue a pregnancy they do not want or are not prepared for. They are forcing children into a system who has high chances of abusing them and making them live a life of pain. They are forcing people to avoid going to their doctor because they know their doctor could report them or turn them away, and they are forcing doctors to not be able to help their patients. Making abortion illegal only makes safe abortions illegal. People will die trying to do it at home or with someone taking advantage of them, or even by their partners who are angry they are pregnant. Children will die and feel pain in homes filled with resentment and abuse. You are allowed to disagree with abortion, but you do not get to decide whether others can or cannot have one because it's none of your business. You don't have to get one if you don't want to.

“What shall I do? what can I do? How can I escape from this dreadful thing of night and gloom and fear?”
this line is feeling pretty relevant considering the recent news regarding the supreme court 🙃

I don’t understand people who think having a cut off date for how far into a pregnancy people can get an abortion is a good idea. For many abortion clinics it’s 6 weeks but one of the main tells that people use to know whether they’re pregnant or not is missing their period. However, there’s about 4 weeks between each period and many people get theirs late. Only recently I got my period 2 weeks late and experienced the normal side effects of PMS like stomach cramps and nausea. So basically if someone is actually pregnant it’s incredibly easy to mistake it as just PMS symptoms, and in the end 6 weeks is way too short of a cut off because at that point there really isn’t any solid indicator that someone might be pregnant, and even though they had no idea in the first 6 weeks that person will be refused an abortion and have to carry out the rest of their pregnancy whether they want to or not. Restricting abortions in any way is restricting healthcare for all people with a uterus, and no matter your gender or experiences remember that no one except the person in question should have any choice whatsoever in what people do with their bodies. There is no picking sides in this matter and there should be no need to even have a discussion about this. Abortion is HEALTHCARE and therefore all decisions made about it should be made by the separate individuals not made by the state or anyone else for that matter.
