I’m a little obsessed with Tempest and Rockhoof bonding during that journey they went on together, and with the idea that Sunburst’s type is Big ‘n; Bold, and with the idea that Rockhoof and Tempest both like sweet dorky types, and that through a series of wacky romantic comedy tropes, the three wind up together.
They eventually have one child, Homesteader, a sweet and shy boy whose special talent lies in animal handling--unfortunately, most animals terrify him.

Hello!
For the ask game:
fandom - "We Bare Bears"
pairing - Sylvia + Peepers (wanted to ask on VK, but forgot)
character - maybe, Applejack?
001 | We Bare Bears
I'm sorry I don't remember much x00
Tumblr media
002 | Black eye
When I started shipping them: I don't remember xD I think when I watched the second season for the first time
My thoughts: I love them so much omg. Like, every time I see how they teasing each other, working together, etc, I'm just smiling so widely
What makes me happy about them: anything! From their canon interactions to fanart and fanfics. I'm just happy to see them
What makes me sad about them: Well, Peeps is more villain-y, after all. He likes to conquer planets and staff. And Syl is more heroic. There can be so much angst...
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: Idk, I read them long ago and don't remember much, but remember, that I liked almost everything I read
Things I look for in fanfic: It's good if author can catch their atmosphere from canon
My wishlist: I want the third season xD Also I wish to me to draw black eye more
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: I really don't know
My happily ever after for them: they're together and happy, married or not
Tumblr media
003 | Applejack
How I feel about this character: I like her very much
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Flam. But I like the idea that both brothers are in love with her
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: with her friends, I suppose
My unpopular opinion about this character: I don't know popular opinions, so I don’t know
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: more interactions with Rockhoof, maybe? As I remember, there wasn't much
Favorite friendship for this character: with Twilight. I don't remember all seasons, but rewatched four episodes of the 1st one not so long ago and I just like their interactions :)
My crossover ship: Applejack/The Vigilante? :D

More batches of doodles done at conventions! It's amazing what your imagination can conjour up when you're assistant vending and there's a lull in customers. From top left to bottom right;
Spitfire always presented herself as this tough, brutal and often scary drill Sargent to terrified new Wonderbolt wannabes. Tornado Rush always saw right through her act though (even memorising her 'Drinking through a straw'speech') which proved difficult for Spitfire to discipline her. However, they loved and respected each other very much. Rush had very large wings for a foal so the two always had this little game in which Spitfire would ask Rush how much she loved her and Rush would spread her wings out saying 'THIIIIIIS MUCH'. Long before they discovered their daughter was mute, Discord would make affectionate animal noises as a way to communicate to Upsy Daisy, usually like a mother cat. Fluttershy died of cuteness everytime. Pale Umber is a stickler for the rules and hates it when others (eg, Bramble, Daisy, sometimes Orin) break them and goof off without a care in the world. It's up to Big Daddy Rockhoof to unwind her with playful teasing, raspberry kisses and reminders that's its ok to loosen up a little. I'd like to imagine Rockhoof being a very doting and sweet father, having pet names like 'My wee lambs' for his very embarrassed kiddos. I like the idea of pegasai using their wings to flirt with (the larger, fluffier and more colourful, the better) so here's a younger Rainbow Dash not so subtly working her charm on her future wife. Spitfire may have been mildly impressed ("You're lucky I like you so much, Crash!") I love mlp’s Legends of Magic, I am so excited to learn some equestrian history. The journey to knowing the pillers and how they got together is great.
Can’t wait for the next issue. So heres Steela fighting off the Lumber bears, and Rockhoof digging up the trench for the flitter fish.

One of my all time favourite pieces of MLP:FIM fanart I decided to repost here - it’s one of my most popular art pieces on DA, if not THE most popular. :3 Back before Season 9 aired, I had a headcanon that the Student Six would become the new bearers of the Elements of Harmony, so I drew them together with the previous Element bearers that I had a headcanon they corresponded with. :)
During School Raze, I noticed that during the finale when they were facing off against Cozy Glow, the Student Six were given strength by the Tree of Harmony to help them save Starlight and restore the magic that Cozy had stolen. Judging by the colours that they were glowing, I have a thought what element they could represent – comparing them to the Pillars of Equestria and the Mane Six, and why I think they could represent each element and what they have in common with the other elements in my view).
Purple = Magic - Star Swirl – Twilight Sparkle – Gallus (while he may not possess magic in any sense, he seems to have similarities to both Star Swirl and Twilight in how they all started off as loners until they discovered how important friendship could be and it seems to have changed and matured him the most, just like how Twilight changed from thinking friendship was a waste of time, and Star Swirl used to have a rather bad attitude in general until he was convinced not to give up on Stygian and give him another chance. )
Blue = Loyalty - Flash Magnus – Rainbow Dash – Smoulder (in What Lies Beneath, she refused to leave her friends behind and can be a loyal friend.)
White = Generosity - Mistmane – Rarity – Ocellus (her species as a whole has learned that sharing love is more beneficial than stealing it.)
Yellow = Kindness - Mage Meadowbrook – Fluttershy – Sandbar (he acted out a ‘cruel to be kind’ sort of deal when he pretended to betray his friends in order to save them, and he is like the Team Dad of the group.)
Pink = Laughter - Somnambula – Pinkie Pie – Silverstream (pretty obvious, given her joyful and bubbly personality. )
Orange = Honesty - Rockhoof – Applejack – Yona (She always speaks what’s on her mind and doesn’t make a habit of telling lies.)

Season 8 Retrospective
This... Okay, Season 8’s final W-L-T score was 0-11-15, which means that, quantitatively, it should have been the worst season yet. But...I dunno, this season just kind of...came and went. It might partially have to do with the fact that this is the eighth season of a show that should have ended with Season 3, but I think there’s a bigger factor at play here. Yes, it’s that most baffling of poor decisions, the School of Friendship!
I still cannot figure out why they thought this was such a good idea to build the entire season around. Maybe the voice actors for the Mane 6 are trying to move on from the show and are minimizing their future commitments? If it’s just trying to sell toys of the New Mane 6, they wouldn’t need to focus on them so heavily (people will buy figurines of background characters, for god’s sake), but phasing out the original Mane 6′s toyline also seems like a dumb idea. I think it’s just that corporations still haven’t gotten over the collective concept that they all seemed to have in the 1980s that kids love school and will watch anything set at a school. You know which cartoons I watched the least (or just flat out never watched) as a kid? Recess! Teacher’s Pet! Braceface! You know, the ones that spent a large chunk of time at school! School is by far the least interesting part of any child’s life! If the characters were school-age, you maybe showed a scene or two an episode just to establish that, but that’s it! A good example is Kim Possible; sure, she went to school every episode, but the majority of each episode was all the spy shit. Because no duh! (For the record, as a kid, I was also incredibly bored by any show that was just about kids doing normal shit all the time, school-related or otherwise: Doug, Rocket Power, The Weekenders, Hey Arnold!, Pepper Ann, As Told by Ginger, every single live-action laugh-track Disney sitcom...come to think of it, is that all that late-’90s to early-2000s Disney Channel and Nickelodeon shows were? Jesus Christ, I miss when Cartoon Network was fun.)
Anyway, I don’t know what kids watch these days. Maybe they don’t even watch this show; I have no idea. I haven’t kept up. Why am I even still talking about this? On with the list!
#1. “Road to Friendship”: Like I said, this one was the closest to “good” we got this season. Starlight and Trixie tend to have good dialogue together, and this was no exception. Did anyone notice that Starlight was barely in this season at all, though? They really need to deal with their constant problem of adding characters to the main cast and then not knowing what to do with them in future episodes.
#2. “Sounds of Silence”: If not for Autumn Blaze being so goddamn annoying (and the moral being fairly lame), this episode might have been better. At least I now know why I’ve been seeing kirin fanart for a few months now.
#3. “What Lies Beneath”: This was probably the only halfway decent episode involving the New Mane 6 because it actually gave us a bit of insight into their characters besides “like the Mane 6, but children”. The Tree of Harmony’s way of thinking is still super fucked-up, though.
#4. “Molt Down”: Puberty episode? Sure, why not. Still better than Big Mouth.
#5. “Father Knows Beast”: This one goes right next to the other Spike one because, like all Spike episodes, it really left little to no impact. The fact that Spike is still being written to be dumb enough to fall for some random dragon showing up and saying that he’s his father is pretty grating, though.
#6. “The Break Up Break Down”: Miscommunication storylines annoy the shit out of me, especially since Modern Family became 90% “I heard a thing and I’m going to assume the worst instead of just confirming it with the person I heard it from” episodes. At least Discord finally got a couple funny lines again.
#7. “Non-Compete Clause”: I don’t know why Applejack and Rainbow Dash thought a rehash of “Fall Weather Friends” would be a good idea if they mixed in a bit of child endangerment. Thank god the kids turned out to be smarter than them.
#8. “A Rockhoof and a Hard Place”: Still hard to believe they couldn’t find Rockhoof any digging or demolition jobs anywhere in Equestria. I do like that the ending basically acknowledged that they still don’t know exactly what the point of making Twilight a princess was or what she even does anymore.
#9 & #10. “School Daze”: I was technically right. Neighsay did return to be a villain in the season finale; he just wasn’t the real villain. The fact that they could have arrived at the solution at any time and just chose not to was really annoying. Remember, kids love storylines about legal loopholes and technicalities!
#11 & #12. “School Raze”: Yet another episode that required everyone involved to be as stupid as possible to get the plot going. Nothing like going with your first assumptions and ignoring all evidence to the contrary, eh, Twilight?
#13: “Marks for Effort”: This was just dumb. Twilight wouldn’t let the CMC into the school because they already knew enough about friendship? Yeah, sure. If anything, the episode proved just the opposite. Cozy Glow intentionally failed the test because she thought it would get them in? Uh-huh. Given her secret ultimate evil goal was to make everyone friends with her, I can only assume that she did in fact think that that plan would work, since getting them kicked out definitely wouldn’t endear her to them.
#14. “The End in Friend”: I don’t think this episode accomplished what it was attempting to. No, Rarity and Rainbow Dash don’t have anything in common. No, they don’t have to hang out together if they don’t have any activities they both enjoy. No, that doesn’t make them enemies, nor does it mean they can’t still hang out with their other friends. Sheesh.
#15. “The Washouts”: More child endangerment! Why a dangerous stunt team was able to hire Scootaloo I still don’t know, but apparently no one in the audience had a problem with that. If the lesson was to teach children not to be so fickle about picking their role models, that’s probably a good idea.
I’m not sure there’s all that much difference between these two parts of the list, but whatever.
#16. “Fake It ‘Til You Make It”: Seriously, though, Fluttershy’s only mistake was not telling those raccoons ahead of time that she was going to be using different personae. It was working!
#17. “Grannies Gone Wild”: This episode beat out Book Club by a whole month for its message of, “Old people are people too!” The Wonderbolts are assholes, Applejack is an asshole, and everypony loses! Hooray!
#18. “The Mean 6”: At least Chrysalis was still kind of intimidating in “To Where and Back Again”. This episode just made her look like a joke who had no clue what she was doing (more than “A Canterlot Wedding” already did, I mean).
#19. “The Parent Map”: Remember “Parental Glideance”? That was last year’s, “God, my parents are so embarrassing!” episode. This is this year’s. Joy.
#20. “Friendship University”: Someone was confused that I complained about Twilight apparently hating competition, even though she was trying to shut down the Friendship University because she clearly knew that Flim and Flam were untrustworthy. This person apparently missed the fact that Twilight was upset that somepony was opening a competing friendship school BEFORE she found out it was Flim and Flam who were running it, and she in fact went to the Friendship University specifically to find something wrong with it. That’s the part I was objecting to: the fact that Twilight is still so neurotic that she can’t handle not being in control of everything. In fact, that raises an interesting point. Has there ever been an episode where Twilight has had to learn the lesson of, “Other people are capable of things, too. Not everything has to be run by you first”? It certainly wasn’t this one.
#21. “Surf and/or Turf”: Hey, another episode where the conflict made no sense! And, as an added bonus, another one where just talking to the other people involved would have resolved it instantly! Huzzah! Old El Paso managed to make “Why not both?” the lesson of a 30-second commercial. I don’t know why this took so much longer.
#22. “Horse Play”: COM-MU-NI-CA-TION. “You’re a bad actress. You can have a surprise cameo at the end of our play to make the crowd happy, but that’s it.” Jesus.
#23. “The Hearth’s Warming Club”: What exactly was the message of this episode? “Don’t lie”? No, because they never told Twilight the truth; she just happened to be standing behind them when Gallus told the other kids. “Don’t wreck shit”? No, because Gallus never faced any consequences for that. Honestly, the lesson should have been directed at teachers, and it should have been, “Don’t try this shit. It never works; it just pisses everyone off, including you.”
#24. “The Maud Couple”: Worst new character of the season. Hands down. I hope we never see him again, especially if the only way we get more Maud is if he comes along for the ride. What a prick.
#25. “A Matter of Principals”: Speaking of episodes that teach the lesson to the wrong person... Remind me again why Discord wasn’t the one who learned the lesson here? Because he’s unteachable? Because he’s “reformed” and therefore has already learned all the lessons he needs to? Also, this is a rare episode where the characters do actually communicate properly (Starlight does tell Discord to knock his shit off), and they try to pretend they didn’t! Twilight gets mad at Starlight for not talking to Discord, even though she did! You can’t do this, writers! You just can’t!
#26. “Yakity-Sax”: Talk about not knowing what fucking lesson they were trying to teach. You know what? I bet this actually happened. I bet Michael P. and/or Wil Fox were practicing their electric guitar or drums or bagpipes or whatever for days on end at all hours of the night, and all their neighbors called the cops on them. This was their way of sticking it to everyone. “No! You should let me do whatever the hell I want! It doesn’t matter if it disturbs you! Fuck the system! It’s my passion! You can’t stop me from living my dream!”
There’s a holiday special next week, and near as I can figure, it hasn’t been aired in another country ahead of time! We’ll actually get to watch this one together! Yay!

Note: This has been drawn as a reference guide which is free to use if you wish to draw this character. However, please do not repost or claim as your own, thank you. The fourth born in my Next Gen series.
Pale Umber
Personality: Hard working, honest, a little uptight, focused.
Likes: Climbing trees, cute dresses, music, making sculptures from wood, sparring.
Dislikes: Bramble’s laziness, snakes, homesickness, Strawberry Jam (a pony, not the actual jam).
Story;
Pale Umber is the daughter of AppleJack and Rockhoof and twin sister to Orin. Exceptional large even as a baby, Umber shares her parents’ profound strength and values hard work and honesty just as much as AppleJack does. Mostly a serious and focused pony, she doesn't approve of layabouts, like her cousin Bramble and their friend Daisy.
During her pregnancy with the twins, AppleJack was told one twin (Umber) was a lot larger than the other (Orin). Umber was slowly crushing Orin in the womb, which could lead to health problems for the small baby or even death. Knowing this, AppleJack went ahead with the pregnancy and the twins were born via cesarean. Umber had all of her parent’s natural strength and was perfectly healthy but Orin was very weak. The following weeks were touch and go before Orin was allowed to come home, where he developed to be a normal healthy baby. Despite their differing strengths and interests, Umber and Orin were as close as twins could be and grew to always have each other’s back, like true Apple siblings. Growing up, AppleJack was fiercely overprotective of Orin so Umber knew to give Orin space despite her mother insisting she watch him like a hawk when she wasn't around. Although she did once defend Orin from bullies, alongside Bramble, Daisy and their other friend Tornado Rush.
Growing up, Umber never had any interest in apples, despite being trained in apple growing like the rest of the family. She did take hard work to heart though and was always happy to help out, which was why she got so frustrated by her cousin Bramble’s laziness. One day, while out in the market with her mother and brother, they stopped by a now elderly Burnt Oak’s stall. Umber was fascinated by Oak’s woodcutting and asked him a million questions about it, much to the old stallion’s amusement and delight. Umber later begged her mother to ask Oak to teach her about woodcutting but AppleJack was hesitant, unsure if she wanted one of her kids to handle an axe so young and she was already constantly worried about Orin. It was only until Applebloom (who saw this as a cutie mark potential) encouraged her that AppleJack finally said yes. Oak was more than happy to take Umber as his apprentice, both as a chance to reconnect with the Apples more often and to pass on his passion to a younger pony. Training was tough and hard work but Umber loved every minute of it, even more so when she gained her cutie mark at age seven.
In the same year Umber got her Cutie Mark, Daisy was taken by Tirek and Cozy Glow so the foals hatched a plan to rescue her without their kin knowing. Pale Umber’s part of the plan was to carry a still caged Daisy to safety per Bright Eyes’ order but Tirek caught them before she could. The mission did not go according to plan but in the end, everyone was safe but totally grounded.
As life went on, Umber continued her training until she was a professional lumber worker at the age of nineteen. Around the same time, Orin decided to move to Manehatten to study Fine Art in Textiles. For the first few weeks, Umber missed him horribly but his frequent letters always cheered her up.
In the current timeline, Umber is Ponyville’s resident lumber worker, cutting down and clearing rotten trees on her family’s orchard and beyond as well as creating wooden sculptures for fun. She still lives at Sweet Apple Aches but in her own little hut which she rents from the family. Umber also has an ongoing rivalry with Strawberry Jam, Flim and and Flam’s adopted niece.
Bits and Pieces;
Umber is an early riser, though not because of work. She needs to in order to braid her hair and tail everyday (don’t ask me how she does it without a horn or digits, all I can say is she just can).
Umber is terrified of snakes, despite her great strength. Because of this, she never visits Ace and Bramble’s house since Ace has a pet snake.
Umber is very close to Orin and they often have each other’s backs.
She also has a small heard of pet guinea pigs, who live in a pen in the barn.
Umber is generally very tomboy-ish. However, unlike AppleJack, Umber loves dressing in fine fashion and beautiful dresses. She always goes to Rarity for advice before a big event that requires fancy wear.
Despite their differing body types, both she and her brother have endless stomachs and are almost always hungry.
While both twins have the typical Apple family accent, Umber inherited AppleJack’s countryisms.
Both Umber and Orin took fighting and duelling lessons from their father (though in Orin’s case, behind their mother’s back) and they can hold a pretty good fight on their own.
Even as a adult, Umber gets terribly homesick when she’s not in Ponyville or Sweet Apple Aches for more than a couple of days so she's not the best traveller.
Umber was teased restlessly as a teen for being so large and muscular but she had none of her brother’s self confidence issues so she was able to ignore them. It didn't stop Orin from aggressively confronting her bullies though.
On their nineteenth birthday, Orin gifted Umber her very own plaid jacket which he made himself. It is her most prized possession and, despite wearing it nearly every day, it has yet to completely wear out.
Like Ace, Umber was also hesitant about the secret rescue mission to save Daisy but finally agreed to look out for Orin and knowing that her strength would be an advantage.

Note: This has been drawn as a reference guide which is free to use if you wish to draw this character. However, please do not repost or claim as your own, thank you The fifth born in my MLP Next Gen series!
Orin
Personality: Determined, confrontational, nervous, creative, cynical.
Likes: Making art, knitting, crocheting, sparring.
Dislikes: AppleJack’s overprotective-ness, ponies underestimating him, being called soft, early mornings.
Story;
Orin is the son of AppleJack and Rockhoof and twin brother to Pale Umber. Orin is the smallest and skinniest of the bunch, not very strong like his sister but makes up for it with a sharp mind, creative insight and his ‘fight me’ attitude.
During her pregnancy with the twins, AppleJack was told one twin (Umber) was exceptionally larger than the other (Orin). Umber was almost crushing Orin in the womb, which could lead to health problems for the small baby or even death. Knowing this, AppleJack decided to go ahead with the pregnancy and the twins were born via cesarean. Umber had all of her parent’s natural strength and was perfectly healthy but Orin was very weak. It took a long time for him to start breathing. He was placed in a incubator and doctors tended to him day and night. The following weeks were touch and go, Orin almost dying several times. It got so bad that doctors recommend they switch off the life support machine they eventually had to put Orin on. Both Rockhoof and AppleJack were devastated but they refused to give up on him. Eventually, Orin pulled through and, once home, developed to be a normal, healthy pony.
Despite this, AppleJack was left traumatised by the whole ordeal and grew very overprotective of Orin, not allowing him to do several things when he was a child. At one Apple Family Reunion, AppleJack didn't let Orin take part in the children’s activities and instead had him quilting with Granny Smith. This put a damper on Orin’s confidence and it didn't help that his father and sister were the strongest ponies in Equestria. The straw that broke the camel’s back though was when he was picked on and beaten by a group of bullies at school and he had to be saved by Umber, his cousin Bramble and his friends Upsy Daisy and Tornado Rush. After talking with Rockhoof, Orin revealed he believed himself to be weak and he would never amount to anything. Understanding how Orin felt, Rockhoof was determined Orin would never feel like that again. So he began giving both his children fighting lessons without AppleJack knowing. The kids loved it and became exceptionally skilled fighters.
The only good thing that came out of AppleJack’s overprotective behaviour was that it gave Orin a chance to find his special talent. Being stuck quilting with Granny, he found he really enjoyed it, especially after learning the significance of the quilt in his family’s history. At age just five, he threw himself in learning every textile and fabric technique he could, creating a tapestry which outlined the entire history of the Apple Family. He submitted it in the art tent of the Ponyville Country Fair and won first prize and several special awards in his category, much to AppleJack and Rockhoof’s pride. It was then he received his Cutie Mark, the first in his group of friends to do so.
When Orin was seven, he also took part in the super secret rescue mission Upsy Daisy, who had been taken by Tirek and Cozy Glow. Orin’s part in the plan was to pick the lock of the cage Daisy was put in and distract Tirek when they were discovered. The whole rescue almost came to a disaster, though in the end, Daisy was safe and everyone was transported back home by Discord. Umber and Orin only barely escaped a scolding when Bramble broke down so instead they were quickly grounded and sent to bed.
Weeks afterwards, AppleJack refused to let Orin out of her sight. If she really was a helicopter mum before, she was even worse. Whenever Orin worked in his room on a fabric piece, Applejack would check on him every ten minutes. Unless he was at school, where ever AppleJack went, Orin had to be right at her side no matter what. It began to get so bad that Orin was starting to look forward to school every weekday. This began to really grind on him, especially since he was missing out on fighting lessons from Dad, which he always looked forward to. He talked to Rockhoof and Umber about trying to get her to back off but their attempts fell on deaf ears.
The final straw came when Daisy was well enough the interact with her friends again. All the foals gathered at Sweet Apple Aches for a playdate and when they all wanted to go to the swimming hole, AppleJack refused to let Orin accompany them. A huge argument later, Orin snapped, revealing Rockhoof had been teaching him how to fight and even demonstrated a move perfectly. Despite her being briefly amazed, AppleJack then said she wasn't keeping a close eye on him enough and announced he was never to leave her side. Angry, frustrated and upset, Orin yelled at her that he hated her and was the worst mother ever, running off to be alone. A while later, Applebloom found Orin sulking on the hilltop. She relayed her experience of AppleJack’s Babying and didn’t excuse her reasons for doing so. Having said that, she then encouraged Orin to patch things up. He and AppleJack later had a long and teary conversation about their trust issues and relationship in general, resulting in AJ apologising for her overprotectiveness and Orin forgiving her and apologising for his own hurtful words.
Afterwards, family life was much better for Orin. AppleJack kept her promise and gave Orin all the space he needed. If she did get too far, her kids and husband were quick to gently tell her to take a step back. Now, their relationship is build on trust, love and mutual respect.
When Orin was eighteen, he just finished school, but had no idea what he wanted to do so decided to work on the farm until something came along, while at the same time working on little art projects. One experiment he did involved interacting fabric with the Ponyville environment. This caught the eye of a pony from Manehatten, a college professor in Fine Art, who saw him working on said piece at the town centre. Impressed with Orin skills, he approached him, asking him if he would consider an interview at the city’s best art school. Excited and nervous, Orin talked it over with his family, who encouraged him to go ahead with it. After organising a portfolio and submitting his work, he earned an interview, which in turn snagged him a place at the school in the Fine Art Textiles course.
In the present day, Orin still continues with his studies in Manehatten while working part time in a scarf factory. Despite being very busy, he still comes home once or twice every month.
Bits and Pieces:
Orin has a pet cat, a male orange tabby named Tiger.
Unlike his sister, Orin doesn't get so easily homesick. He loves the big city life, having his own space and walking around the corner if he needed groceries.
Even though he is not physically strong, Orin is a skilled fighter thanks to his father’s training. However, he loves the thrill of it a little too much and sometimes goes to the rowdiest bars in Manehatten just to join in or pick a fight. His family have yet to know about that.
Orin at times still has self confidence issues, like uncertainty for the future and second guessing decisions in his artwork.
Out of all the Apple Cousins, Orin was the closest to Granny Smith and was crushed when she passed away. Even as an adult, he still misses her greatly.
Orin made Umber’s checked jacket for their nineteenth birthday and in return, Umber gifted him a sewing machine which was identical to the one Granny Smith used to have. It is his most treasured item and he always uses it.
When he wears clothes, Orin tends to go with a very hipster style with knitted cardigans and fancy hats and such. Because of his very city appearance, it usually surprises ponies when he starts talking in his country accent.
As an opposite to Umber’s early rising, Orin enjoys sleeping in late.
Orin gets a free VIP ticket whenever Daisy has a match or Ace has a game in Manehatten. Despite his disinterest in sport, he attends every single one.
Orin is short sighted and needs glasses, but nowadays he prefers contacts.
He doesn't like being called soft and weak by bigger and meaner ponies so he takes great pride in the looks on their faces that he is anything but.
Because he’s so skinny and small, many mistake Orin for being younger than he actually is or that he is a few years younger than Umber, another one of his major pet peeves.
He can be overly confrontational at times, like when he threatens bullies who taunt his sister, even though she doesn’t care.
Orin loves make art that represent his family history, both on his mum and dad’s side. When Goldie passed away, Orin couldn’t keep every family heirloom but took plenty of pictures and records. It was there he discovered that Pinkie was definitely related to the Apples and where he found Tiger as a kitten.
Because of his interest in family history, Orin is a familiar visitor at the archaeological museum which stands where Rockhoof’s village used to be.
