The freaking way the Higurashi family contacts you sometime after you managed to get back to your era because of a message Kagome left years ago before she vanished through the well permanently, so you travel to Japan, and while you're in the middle of a conversation two half-demons burst into the house declaring you're their mother.
Time travel shenanigans are rough. Irene is much confused. Maria is both baffled and impressed, because Airi and Towa are very much obviously Irene's children, which means she definitely ends up woo'ing Sesshomaru at some point, but also w h a t.
Sota is just, "Yup. Another day in the life. Welcome to the Higurashi shrine."
Irene is vehemently convinced they have her confused with someone else, because Sesshomaru would never. Especially not with a human. (But he does, eventually, and she's the mom, and she's hitting her head against a tree later upon realizing Airi and Towa weren't mistaken at all.)

When characters in aoex get upset over being a burden to their friends my soul literally withers away. like shut up shut up SHUT UP. When Shiemi calls herself useless i want to shake her by the shoulders because she's so strong, why can't she see that? Your friends love you they could never see you that way. When Rin berates himself or questions why Shirou would even save his life I feel sick, dude. i feel ill. When Koneko puts himself down and calls himself the weak link i feel like i've just been hit by a train. When Yukio as a little kid apologizes to his brother for the simple act of getting beaten up by bullies and needing help.... god. fuck. i'm not well.

#ryuuji suguro#ryuji suguro#blue exorcist#ao no exorcist#rin okumura#suguro ryuuji#suguro ryuji#bon suguro#manga ryuuji#chapter 17#konekomaru miwa#okay-part two of this explanation#again i really can't express how much you need to read and watch the beats in this scene#it's really well done in relaying everyone's motives and thoughts and journeys they're going to take#ryuuji never said it was 'rin' doing those things#just that the blue flames *had* done that so he can't trust rin with those flames#and fair because so far none of them have exactly seen any reason to trust those flames#they were wild in the forest and i cannot express enough that rin tried to attack them on that bridge and only couldn't because mephisto ha#but rin is taking this as entirely about him and not hearing what ryuuji is saying#he really won't for a lot longer#and we don't know where ryuuji was going to take the satan thing yet#and we won't really later either#but this conversation and beat isn't at all resolved yet#because it's going to lead to a bigger misunderstanding and problem#the point of this scene is that neither of them are communicating clearly and rin is still resulting to physical aggression and yelling and#ryuuji is yelling right back and their conversation isn't finished#it's hardly even started#this conversation set up is going to be what the rest of the arc is looking at and working around#also#notice koneko chooses to intervene when Rin starts to ignite

When I think of Hashirama losing control of himself (in anger, in grief, whichever) and letting it all out I think of like. You know that scene in Sleeping Beauty where Maleficent casts a spell on the castle where Aurora is sleeping so Prince Philip can't get to it, and then there are dark, tangled, and twisted thorny trees and branches that grow around it. You know the aesthetic of a scary, dark forest during the night, where everything looks much bigger than it is, with looming shadows and the natural shapes carved into the barks of trees, the hollows, they look like faces, threatening, mischievous ones or ones contorted with fear, as if they were scared of the forest at night too. Yeah, that.
#send post#Also whatever Obito was doing when Rin died but on significantly larger scale#need more Tobirama died and Hashirama being broken over it AUs just to see what happens when he loses control of the Mokuton#I remember an artist drew a scenario with that (I think it was opens-up-4-nobody) and Hashirama just stayed with the body futilely trying#to heal it and now I'm thinking like. while he is doing that. one of those dark ''enchanted'' forests from your childhood nightmares starts#growing around him 'til the point where you can't even find him anymore#and any normal person that tries to get in inevitably gets lost and might even fucking die bc it's such a hostile environment
