Mark Smith Ref Sheet [Updated]

Finally got around to finish my boy's ref sheet!  Some additional information about Mark: He is left-handed He is a very tactile person, though he is very aware that not everyone is comfortable with being touched, such as Amberette and Joseph, so he is very mindful around them. He is often very open with Raye as she, too, can be tactile (though not as much as Mark). They have been often confused as a couple but they have more of a close sibling type of relationship and always shudder at the idea of people thinking they are dating. Prefers being called Mark and never Marcus, whenever people use his full name he feels like he's getting in trouble. Mark was a Sniper and part of the Rangers. He showed a lot of tactical and surveillance skills that won him awards and decorations. He has a strong sense of duty and an unwavering sense of loyalty. He showed natural talent for marksmanship and tactical acumen. He remained calm and courageous even under intense pressure. Unfortunately, due to an injury he has received honourable discharge from the military.  Unfortunately, after being prescribed painkillers he struggled with addiction and homelessness. During this time he had become an informant for Josias and his husband who saw a man desperate to break out this cycle but not being able to due to many factors. Seeing his potential to help the group, as well as a bit of encouragement by Raye, they helped him off the streets, got him help for his addiction, and he became a loyal and valuable asset to the team.  Sexuality: Bisexual Dislikes: Killjoys, brown nosers, people who use others to get ahead, dislikes teas (but tolerates Earl Grey), snowy days, walking on ice Bad habits: at times he bits his nails (as a way to deal with his anxiety/ptsd), makes jokes when he's uncomfortable with a situation or his feelings, sometimes can take a job a bit too serious (especially if he's the leader), prone to depressive/sour moods though most of the time he tries to hide it with humour some subjects put him in enough of a bad mood not to try Day Job: Private Investigator "Night Job": Logistical & Combat Support, Transport

a ringtail in the prickly pears

I broke my favourite tool on this piece ☹️ got a few new ones but had to carve a couple pieces without one

one of the biggest lies i see in this world is tangle being drawn with a short/rounded face

ringtailed lemurs look like THIS:

every time i see sonic characters drawn with long muzzles and tangle is drawn with a flat one…… it hurts………..

curious about tail body language in monkeys with them and how it varies? largely for writing purposes, its a little too easy to want to go with cat body language wrt tails in humanoid characters so im wondering if theres much to go off with monkeys with tails that would be fun to include

OOh I like this question. In short: it depends!

So, first; the concept of body language is different for each species. Most primates do use body language to communicate, and most of those communications happen via facial expressions and gestures and alot of vocal communication. Tails are very useful for monkeys for balance, or even manipulation; Often their tails are too busy working to be of use communicating. So, there's not a ton on the topic I can share with you but I do have a few:

Squirrel monkeys will kind of cuddle themselves with their tails. They tend to do this to self-sooth or relax.

Japanese macaques, will raise their little stubby tails when threatening/agitated

(only trained professionals should be this close to a macaque)

Ringtail lemurs will sometimes use their wrists to frantically wring their tails when agitated. Sorry I couldn't find media of this.

Marmosets will lift their tails to showcase their testicles to deter a threat
