I have this weird theory why dream may be evil and it all goes back to the revival book.

Just a warning, this post may be all over the place, but hear me out.

I might have some information wrong, because I don't really know what all went down and what happed when the dsmp started and the first war happened, because I didn't know about the dsmp and join in later on in the fandom.

But what I found interesting during the war between pogtopia and lamangberg (sorry if I butchered there names) was dream, was with his friends still during this time. Meaning he was still generally good at this time. It was after the war he seem to take a turn. Right after he got the revival book.

With dream now with the revival book, his mental state took a turn. The reason being is simple, it's to much for him.

I don't think there is much known about how to use it, so I like to believe you need some kind of energy to use it. Because come on, something as powerful as that, can't have a catch to it. It has to take some kind of life energy to use it. Also I think it was mentioned that dream gets tired after using it, so it wouldn't surprise me.

Also don't forget there was another person in possession of the book before dream. Another person who was a villain and lost it at the end. And that person is jschlatt.

If you remember dream got the book from schlatt, in a deal to protect la manberg. A man that was bad, and didn't seem to have a good mental state at end before he died. And I'm pointing the reason why, to the revival book. Just like dream, the book took a toll on schlatt, affecting him till his death.

And to take this even a step further, what if there was another who had the book before dream and schlatt. Another it affected. What if it was a certent ender hybrid to be exact. Ranboo.

Why you may ask, well there are a few reasons why, so let's start with the easy answer, ranboo's memory. We all know ranboo has a horrible memory, but the way ranboo speaks an acts and his enderwalk state makes me believe it wasn't always the case. What if there was a reason for it, what if something happened. Which I like to believe he had some kind of contact with the revival book.

Just like dream and schlatt, it turned his mental state, and at some point his memories. Hence why he can't remember.

Another reason why is because of his other half. We don't know what his other half is, but what if it has something to do with the revival book? What if ranboo was a full on enderman until the book? Maybe ranboo used the book to much turning half of him white with a red eye, or he had a fatal wound and was dying so he tried to use it on himself to save himself, but it turn half himself. hence his other half.

Lastly his enderwalk state. For some reason ranboo seems to trust dream in his enderwalk state, maybe because he knows what dream is going through or maybe he's trying to get the book back, its still a little unclear. But there's something going on.

All I know is everything seemed to go horribly ever since the revival book appeared.

Okay so I've been thinking. Dream hinted on that reddit reply with the last lore that the revival book does have it's limits and I am absolutely interested to know what those are.

So I went back to the video he posted about the book and watched the scene over where c!Dream and c!Punz were experimenting with c!Lazarbeam and c!Vikkstar and I watched it in slow motion.

Before that video, we as the audience knew that Lazar was on two lives and Vikk still has all three.

During the video, and I was looking at the little transparent flashes during the scene of those two actually dying. (The falling over and the poofing particles of death)

It appears that Lazarbeam died twice and Vikkstar died three times. This corresponds with how many lives they had prior to the revival book being used on them.

Now obviously I don't think in Dream's video that that scene happened in any type of order, that it was just a flashback of events that happened and they are out of order.

Fastforward to the new lore that just happened. Everyone wondering why c!Dream was so quick to follow/do what c!Wilbur wanted... it's simple.

To reference what cc!Dream put on reddit about his character, if c!Wilbur wasn't around then c!Dream would lose that power he thinks he holds.

This gives me the impression that since c!Wilbur had only had 1 life when the revival book was used on him, that means that he probably could only be revived once. So the threat of c!Wilbur threatening to kill himself with the lava bucket was real because c!Dream knows that if c!Wilbur were to die again, he wouldn't be able to revive him.

Going by this logic as well, c!Tommy would've only be able to be revived once since he was on his last life as well.

TL;DR: The revival book's use is limited to how many lived the individual had prior to it being used on them. If they had 3 then they can be revived thrice, 2 is twice and 1 is once.....etc
