A lot has happened since we last celebrated National Voter Registration Day:
🏠 People moved, changed their name, turned 18, or attained citizenship
🗳️ Individuals who were previously incarcerated may now be eligible to vote
❌ And it’s possible some of us may have been “purged” from the voting rolls
👉 So don’t wait — visit weall.vote/check to check your registration!

It’s nice of Mother Nature to offer to water my plants in Southern California while I’m in Charlotte this weekend, but I think a hurricane might be overdoing it. Hawaii’s burning and so are Canada and Greece. California, Vermont, and India are flooding, droughts are drying up lakes around the world and there is 100-degree sea-water off Florida and devastating heat waves worldwide…
Climate change is real and it’s here. Biden’s huge IRA bill is really doing something about it by moving us to 80% renewables by the end of the decade. A President Trump would just burn more Saudi and Russian oil, grab a Big Mac and watch it all burn. This is yet another reason we have to actually care and actually vote. Check your voter registration status right now: https://bit.ly/GoVoteMC

Hey, everyone! You want to pull the ultimate prank against the Republican party? I mean this would be EPIC!
On November 5, 2024, all 50 million US citizens between 18 and 30 need to take to the streets and demonstrate against the erosion of civil rights for women, BIPOC, disabled, LBGTIAA+, and transgendered people. Take to the streets...and march right down to your polling station and vote! (Or, you know, early vote.)
This would be the flash mob to beat all flash mobs. The Republicans would never see you coming, because their whole strategy depends on keeping you depressed and disengaged.
Don't like the direction the Democrats are going? Take a page out of the Tea Party's book--they changed the direction of the Republican party by voting for it, and now they own it. Vote Democrat and nudge it leftward this election--then keep nudging it until you can take the wheel. Because the alternative is a hard right turn by the Republicans.
Not only would this be a lifesaver for countless people who are not "White male Christian Conservative Americans", it would also be funny as hell. Want to see Trump have a meltdown on international television? Want to see pollsters and political pundits say "What the fuck?!" Want to see the newspapers suddenly flock to gay nightclubs and college campuses to interview "average voters" instead of rural diners?

« Trump can’t beat Biden, but apathy just might. And the stakes are far too high to let that happen. »
— Columnist Eugene Robinson at the Washington Post. (archived)
Engagement is the opposite of apathy. Both engagement and apathy are contagious. We set the tone for people around us. Even boosting our signals can have an effect over time.
Be constant about messaging, this is a ten month project. Voters need to be continuously and creatively reminded of the stakes this year. If you don't remind them, who will?
Liberals tend to be squeamish about repetition; but repetition is the best friend of campaigners and advertisers. It doesn't matter if people you know get tired of your message as long as your message sinks in and becomes regarded as common knowledge.
Chances are that you still remember advertising jingles and slogans that you heard on TV when you were 7 or 8. That's how effective repetition is.
Ronald Reagan, no fan of the Evil Empire, was apparently fond of the Russian proverb "Доверяй, но проверяй" (Trust but verify). We should keep a different Russian proverb in mind this year: "Повторение - мать учения" (Repetition is the mother of learning).
We have it easy compared to Ukraine. They need to shoot down deadly missiles and drones Russia buys from North Korea and Iran. We only need to publicly and repeatedly shoot down MAGA bullshit and conspiracy theories while robustly firing back with our defense of democracy.
Of course things like voter registration and GOTV are still absolutely essential. But those are facilitated when there's a constant background vibe that freedom and democracy are on the line in November.

pro tip for my american followers thinking about the fuckery next year will bring, i offer u one strategic move in your repertoire, that u may not know about:
some states have open presidential primaries. that means you can vote in the republican primary even if you're registered as a democrat. when you show up to your polling place, they will simply ask you which ballot u want:
Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin
~*~you are totally allowed to vote for a republican that is not trump in the republican primary just to get him off the ballot~*~ -- **even if you wouldn't be caught dead voting for that same person in the general election**.
you can only vote in one primary, so if the democratic primary heats up and you want to vote in that one, then by all means go ahead, you can literally change your mind as you wait in line to vote if you want. but if not, STILL SHOW UP TO VOTE AND TAKE THE REPUBLICAN BALLOT (if you're in an open state)
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SIT AROUND AND WATCH THE REPUBLICANS PUT TRUMP ON THE GENERAL BALLOT AGAIN! VOTE HIS ASS OFF THE ISLAND
**this doesn't mean you endorse a republican candidate in any way. it just means you recognize that trump poses a unique threat. **
ALSO some states have open presidential primaries for unaffiliated voters. meaning if you're registered unaffiliated you can vote in either primary (but if you're registered with a party u can only vote in that party's primary):
Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, West Virginia, Wyoming

Hi Wil,
It’s National Voter Registration Day today (Sept. 20). Can you please remind your US followers to register (or verify their registration: text VOTER to 26797)? I know voting is something you care a lot about.
Thanks!
Yes!
CHECK AND VERIFY YOUR VOTER REGISTRATION!
I'm not exaggerating or being alarmist: if the Republicans capture any significant power in this election, Democracy in America is finished. We will not be able to stop the descent into a fascist theocracy.
Let's play a fun game: what would you do if you were in Germany in 1938 and you could stop the Nazis from taking over? It's like that, right now, in America.
TEXT VOTER TO 26797 to be sure you are registered, or to register to vote.

Today is Equal Pay Day. On average, a woman in the U.S. has to work until today — March 12th — to earn what a man was paid in the year prior. 🪙🙅🏽‍♀️💵
This #EqualPayDay, join us in bringing awareness to the gender wage gap, which is even wider for women of color.
The politicians WE elect can implement reforms that address pay inequality across industries. Make sure you’re registered to vote NOW at weall.vote/register.

Hey guys, so I know a lot of people are freaking out about Project 2025 (and rightfully so) but I want us all to take this as a call to action, rather than a defeating hopelessness.
Look, I know that “vote” isn’t going to magically fix everything, but in this case, it can seriously help. When you see the goals of Project 2025, I want that to serve you a reminder to GET OUT AND VOTE. VOTE in the presidential election. VOTE for your senators and house representatives. VOTE for your mayors. VOTE for your school board. VOTE for people who are in favor of trans rights. VOTE for people who are anti-censorship. VOTE for people who support access to abortion. VOTE for your own best interests. Vote for America.

Hey kids, it's election year in the US and I am not kidding when I say that y'all need to register to vote and then VOTE
Vote in your local elections
Vote in national elections
And for the sake of the future of humanity, vote Democrat
I literally don't care what Joe Biden has or has not done to escalate Israel's assault on Palestine because I can guarantee that it pales in comparison to whatever Trump and the Republican party would do if they were in charge.
Knock it off with the anti-Biden memes. Be angry, but be productive. Contact your representatives and sign petitions. Do everything in your power to voice your outrage to the right people. Memes do nothing but hurt voter turnout. You think Joe Biden knows what the hell Tumblr is? Grow up, cause good trouble, and when Joe Biden's name is on the ballot in November, you vote for him, because another Trump term would take away everything good that we've worked towards - environmental and safety regulations, wide-spread union support, PROTECTING THE LIMITED ACCESS TO ABORTION WE STILL HAVE, and, maybe most importantly, not keeping Russia and North Korea as our closest allies.
I'm tired of it. I don't care how mad you are at Joe Biden, memes aren't worth your time. Politics aren't a joke.

Stop asking whether Trump is a fascist. He's answered that question through his actions, many times.
He answered it when he defended the Nazi murderers at Charlottesville.
He answered it with children in cages.
He answered it when he sent secret police to round up Black Lives Matter protesters by seizing them off the streets.
He answered it on January 6th.
He answered it when he opened his 2024 campaign at Waco.
He answered it when he said immigrants are poisoning the blood of America, something right out of 30s Nazi propaganda.
He answered it when he promised "a bloodbath" if he loses.
Stop asking. He's a fascist.
Time to do something about it.
