Midoriya gets Flect Turn’s quirk

There's a joke here about that snippet I wrote where AFO!Inko murders Flect and steals his Quirk for Izuku but I don't care enough about Flect to tell it.

One day when Midoriya was 2 or 3, his skin suddenly turned luminescent green! Realizing that he got his Quirk, Midoriya was super excited about it! Right up until he went to hug his mom and a wave of energy knocked her back. Luckily, being a young child making light contact, it didn't really hurt her, but it freaks him out.

Bakugou fucking hates Midoriya's Quirk. Midoriya is basically immune to his Quirk and worse reflects it back at him! How can Bakugou prove that he's the strongest now? And if he's not the strongest... what does that make him? Midoriya meanwhile becomes touch-averse out of fear of hurting others, though Inko's unwavering support means that he never develops the "I am unable to form meaningful human connections" thing that Flect had. Growing up, he also struggles with how he keeps Reflecting things he wants to pick up or use.

Izuku's Quirk struggles lead to him becoming a massive Quirk Nerd like his is in canon because he loves seeing people overcome their Quirk problems or come up with creative uses for their Quirks. This eventually leads to him realizing that since his Quirk is an emitter there must be a way to control it properly.

By the time UA rolls around, he hasn't found a way to disable it, but he can redirect the energy from his Reflecting, allowing him to propel himself by Reflecting off of surfaces. It also means that when Uraraka stops him from falling he had to quickly blast the ground to avoid hitting her.

The entrance exam is easy for someone who can rip the robots apart by touching them while also turning their attacks against them. He ends up in 1-A as per my headcanons on why students are assigned to what class. Aziawa's Erasure turning off Reflect is what really helps him make massive strides in controlling the Quirk

+1. Inko is way less stressed about Izuku wanting to be a Hero seeing as his Quirk makes him pretty untouchable.

He'll give more during the course of the day, but they're more specific! He knows specific compliments are taken to heart the most! Like-- "I absolutely adore the way you style your clothes!" or "Your eyes are just the most gorgeous colour!"

Wyvere’s Revised List Of All The Fics/AUs/Original Projects They Want to Create

So, it’s been a while since my original post about all my projects, and a lot has changed since then. I’ve ditched some projects, thought of some new ones, and I’ve even wrote some stuff for two of my fics!

And so I’m doing another post about my projects, so you folks can see some updates to some of the projects, and also some new projects! Also, it’s recommended that you read the original post so you can get some context for some of these.

Fanfics/AUs:

Reflection: So this is the Super Paper Mario without Mario thing on the old post, but I’ve renamed it since then (and also since I first named this post). It’s still got the same premise of Super Paper Mario without (most of) the Mario elements and the heroes being Bleck’s minions. Now, I've actually written stuff for it, so please check that out!

Pokemon fan region: This one still doesn’t have an official name, and it also doesn’t have much more stuff about it since the original post. I would like to explain some lore and show off my own fakemons, though! Basically, there’s a new type of form called Mutant Forms, which are mutated versions of Pokemon with different types (for example, a Water/Fire Larvitar). They’re not really the same as regional forms, though, as they’re genetically engineered hybrids with the DNA of other Pokemon. Spoiler alert: they exist for the same reason that the Pokemon/human hybrids like the main character exist. Oh yeah, and here’s some fakemons! (one, two, three)

The Void Wyrm: Okay, this one won’t be explained on this post because I do not want to spoil Hollow Knight if you haven’t played it. I’ve already made a post about it here, so if you haven’t played Hollow Knight and wanna check out what my fic’s about, go play Hollow Knight (or watch someone stream it) right now, then check it out.

Together Under the Moon: Another Pokemon fic, this one is about a pair of characters who are kind of obscure but I do like, namely Will and Karen from the Johto games. Anyway, the main plot is about how they first met as young Trainers, and all their adventures together, it’s not really any big story, probably mostly slice of life, or as much slice of life as can be for Pokemon Trainers. There’s some elements of the Pokespe manga, some headcanons about the characters which they do kinda need because they’ve only got some developed characterization in Masters, and dumb little additions (for lack of a better word) for the characters that kinda only exist because I’m a dumb little otherkin.

The Reborn Warrior: This is gonna be one of my smaller projects, as it’s only gonna somewhere between 5 to 10 chapters. So I’m gonna be working on this currently both for that reason and because Kirby is my current hyperfix (alongside Super Paper Mario) and this is a Kirby fic. Namely, it’s about Morpho Knight, who has recently turned back into their puffball (called Asteri in this fic) form and finds a baby Asteri who they adopt. There’s more stuff for the story, but I don’t want to spoil it. I will mention that this takes place long before the current Kirby canon, and there’s some backstory for Morpho Knight and their whole nature. Anyway, like Replica, I’ve written some stuff for this!

Earthbound Cryptid AU: Like The Reborn Warrior, this won’t really be too big of a project, probably even less so because I don’t even have any plans for fics. It’s probably just gonna be a small thing I do for fun. Anyway, it’s basically just the Chosen Four but cryptids/magical creatures. Idk about what I’ll have Jeff and Poo be, but I’ve already figured out Paula and Ness. Paula is a mothman mainly because I think Mothman is speculated to have psychic powers and/or is connected to UFOs, and I think it fits her well. And Ness is a Loch Ness Monster because... well, take a guess.

Original Projects:

Age of Monsters: So, I've been realizing that the Fantasy Kaiju concept of kaiju in a medieval fantasy setting might not work as well as I’ve thought. I’ve also been thinking of having my kaiju story be inspired by... goodness, this is silly... Kirby: Right Back at Ya. I can explain, I swear. Okay, so it’s implied in the show that Kirby is a monster created by NME, and I’m thinking of having my protagonist having had been made into a kaiju by some villains. Honestly that might be more interesting than just a fantasy setting with kaiju.

Monster RPG: I’ve actually thought of more story for this! The main concept is still there, but I’ve thought about some characterization and plot. I won’t spoil too much here, but I’ve been thinking about the characterization for my characters, though a lot of it is rather spoilery. Unfortunately, I still have no name for it...

Dragon Semi-Sandbox/Metroidvania: Like the Monster RPG, I’ve expanded on my concept for this. Basically, dragons live in peace with some faerie people, but an army of elves seek to conquer the realm, and the protagonist has to keep the realm safe. I’m glad I have a basic plot at least, even without too much lore. Though I still have no name for this one... Also, I’m thinking I may have this be a sort of semi-sandbox when I actually make it, kind of like Super Mario Odyssey or Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Probably planning a bit too far ahead there, though...

Hear me out, DP and DC crossover where Scarecrow is cousins with the Fentons.

His mother was siblings with Jack’s father, and both Jazz and Danny met ‘Uncle Jonathan’ during one of the many Fenton-Nightingale family reunions that happens every few years. Honestly, perhaps it’s what gets Jazz interested in psychology, hearing from her ‘uncle’ about fear and its effects.

And honestly once they start having to deal with ghosts and having had to deal with their parents for years it’s not really hard to talk with their uncle. Crane still doesn’t know how he became these kids’ favorite uncle, or even all of the family kids’ favorite uncle-cousin, but that’s just how the family is.

Really he’s not even the only villain of the family, with both Jack and Maddie being close but not quite, even if they’re definitely mad scientists. Their son becoming a local hero, even if they’re not aware of that fact, is just ironic.

John knows. The two kids told him when they found out that Danny may or may not need to feed on fear now that he’s half ghost, and well he’s the specialist about the emotion so…

At least they have someone to stay with when Jazz goes to Gotham university and brings Danny with her, even if the local vigilantes are concerned as to why Scarecrow attacks have suddenly took a nosedive…

to say riki considered you and heeseung his parents was an understatement.

he boy genuinely believed you were. so it's safe to say that when his heeseung hyung ( read: dad ) came home to their apartment late to their weekly boys' night and dropped the news, he was devastated.

“me and y/n broke up.“

riki could feel his whole world collapse, suddenly feeling ten again when his parents sat him down to tell him that his mum and dad were getting a divorce and dad was going to be moving back to his old city.

in hindsight, he should’ve consoled his hyung who didn’t look like he had just broken it off with his girlfriend of four years and the woman everyone believed he’d marry one day. he should've gone up to him like a good friend and given him a few words of comfort — maybe even a hug.

but instead, he felt anger. it was selfish, but he couldn’t realise his irrationality over the splitting feeling in his chest, and heeseung's reaction — or lack thereof — didn’t help but wedge a nail in the crack and hammer it down.

he couldn’t make out what the rest of their friends were saying, feeling all his senses suddenly muffle, giving his emotions nowhere to go but out, “what do you mean you broke up.”

the room suddenly felt colder. all their friends stopped talking and froze their gazes on him. seeing sunghoon from his peripheral, sending him a questioning look, but his vision tunnelled on the eldest, who was still standing near the entrance. “you can’t just break up, not now.”

confusion settled on the elder's face, overtly not expecting this reaction from him, “what do you mean i can't? it's my relationship, and we both ended it.”

riki was starting to feel antagonised, seeing faces look back and forth between him and the other, so he stood up in an attempt to size himself up, refusing to see the irrationality of his point. he felt like heeseung was being inconsiderate by breaking up something riki relied on without thinking of the others who'd be affected outside of the relationship.

everyone in their friend group was aware of his abnormal attachments, evident in the shirt he refuses to throw away because it was his father's, even if the fabric had more holes than not, or the two sizes too big shoes his sister gifted him, insisting he would ‘grow into them’ and now yours and heeseung's relationship.

healthy relationships weren't the norm in his life growing up, so by default, riki was hostile and withdrawn towards you the first few times heeseung introduced you as his new girlfriend. reminding himself constantly at the back of his mind that all relationships must come to an end and with every problem heeseung brought home, he was convinced it was near.

however, he must have underestimated you. one year became two, then four, and riki had become accustomed to his life with you. finding himself excited every time you’d come over whenever he was around because you had always seemed to favour him slightly, giving him the best meat cuts whenever you’d eat out together, or saving him the corner of the brownie because you knew it was his favourite part.

maybe it was silly to let you grow a home into the hole in his heart that was carved by his mother, seeking maternal comforts from you and allowing you to become a constant in his life.

but then again, all relationships have an end but riki wasn’t ready to let this one go. “so what? that’s it? you’re just going to end it here after everything?”

“look, it was a mutual breakup. we both just don't feel the same as we did before, so we broke it off like adults. i wish her all the best, just not with me.”

the split started to spread throughout his whole body, feeling his knees start to weaken under the weight of his emotions. when he started to feel his throat clog up and his eyes start to burn, he quickly made his escape, pushing past his hyung making sure to knock their shoulder on his way out to show he wasn't happy with the new change.

he could hear them discussing what happened after slamming his bedroom door, the thin walls leaving no word left unheard, drilling each question into his mind.

maybe then he should’ve left and apologised for his outburst, but grief is a funny feeling.

even though the relationship wasn’t his and never was to begin with, riki had gotten too comfortable living vicariously through you, and now he wanted someone to take responsibility for feelings only he could be blamed for.

but that’s another thing about grief. there’s always someone you want to pin the blame on. someone who caused this emotion to spiral and settle at the pit of his stomach without anywhere else to go leaving it to make itself home in his body.

and it wasn’t going to be him.

I don’t know exactly what it was but my first thought seein #the white void was she was appearing to MK in his mindscape to talk to him. so I built on that #I wanted to give him a more ‘Smokey’ look as a shadow just based on how he manipulates them in the show like in shadow play. AU Snippet Ask Game: Reflection AU

Noumu’s fist freezes, shuddering, inches away from Izuku’s face. Wind buffets his hair and clothes from the force of the blow that never lands.

The storm of power crashes over Izuku, slamming into the Noumu again with the force of its own blow. Lacerations slice open across The Noumu’s skin, drops of blood blasted away by Reflection, before sealing again. It staggers but doesn’t so much as move a foot back. Without even blinking, it raises its other hand and brings it down on Izuku again. Again, his Quirk takes the hit for him.

He grits his teeth. If his Quirk gives up on him, this thing will kill him, no question.

Behind him, energy bellows into a whirlwind, preparing to turn back on the Noumu. It’s not enough, none of the other hits have been enough. If he keeps this up… no, he needs a new plan.

His eyes widen.

Slowly, deliberately, he brings his arm around and as the cascade of energy begins its assault, swipes upward. The vortex of power twists, seizing the Noumu in unbearable wind and pressure and launching it skyward.

As the energy fades, Noumu hangs in the air for a moment before falling back to the ground in an unceremonious heap. It rights itself by shoving off of the ground until its back on its feet, acting more like a marionette than a living thing.

Im bored so, if there are any Mirror Image readers still following me, this one is for you!

Here are some fun facts about the characters in Mirror Image that I can't include for the sake of subtlety/they're irrelevant to the plot

Dawn/Akari and Irida... Are... Dating :]

So are Arezu and Mai

On a similar note regarding relationships— Adaman has actually been pining for Ingo for a long time. But he noticed Melli's feelings towards him, so he keeps it to himself, because he wants Melli to have someone that makes him happy

Seeing how Ingo treats Melli so well only made Adaman fall harder

Ingo likes spicy food!

Emmet smokes. This is why he had a lighter in the scene where he burned the remainder of Ingo's missing posters

It was a bad habit he had before Ingo even went missing, but once he disappeared it intensified. Ingo disapproves of his habit, and if he found out about it again, he still would.

Volo also smokes. They have a fancy pipe they like to use.

Volo n Emmet take smoke breaks together. They don't talk much during them, but the presence of the other is enough to make them feel so much more at ease.

Emmet thinks Volo looks ethereal. Which is why I use descriptors like "golden" and for them. Those are descriptors from Emmet's pov (he's the only one who interacts with him, so there's nothing else to compare to though) To him, their beauty is pure and ornate.

Volo is basically rich. They built their wealth over the many many years they were alive. They own many properties and the like throughout Sinnoh, so they're never worried about getting around or having a place to stay, making them the perfect travel companion for Emmet

Volo knows Sinnoh like the back of their hand

Volo also knows the Mirror Dimension like the back of their hand

Volo has a crack on their neck, much like the ones on their face. They got this from a failed attempt to take their own life

Elesa and Drayden are actively looking for Emmet

Ingo is gay, Emmet is bi, they are both trans

Drayden is also.... Gay :]

Lesbian Elesa real.

Also Demiboy Melli real. He uses he/they

Ingo has always wanted to try the potato mochi he sees the Galaxy Team eat... But alas... He has no fucking money

Ingo has been attacked by a Zoroark before. On one of the design references for MI Ingo, you'll see he has bite marks in a few places— that's cause he's been mauled.

Ingo is a good cook but doesn't remember shit about how to do it.
