Commission for @silverstreams for a scene from ch42 of their fic, redemption!
I wanted to capture the emotion it gave me reading this scene for the first time: an overwhelming sense of relief after a long, harrowing, previously seemingly hopeless journey. It’s a very emotionally heavy story but a very good one, and satisfying at the end for sure

breanna and ronald are wlw/mlm solidarity it’s true
breanna just slowly opening his eyes to the pyramid scheme until he literally runs away to be a musician but he’s so excited he runs back to tell breanna about it. she deserves a bestie outside of the crew, i nominate ronald

Also kudos to Breannas new girlfriend for hearing Breanna basically admitting that she does crime and is on a government watchlist and still going ‘yeah I’ll go on another date’

One of my favorite little easter eggs is Dafna's name being used.
For those that don't know, Dafna contacted Pacat and raved about how much she loved Captive Prince, and then asked if Pacat had any ideas for a comic series to which Pacat said "yeah, I've had this one idea for awhile. I can get it to you in a week."
And then Pacat promptly called up all of his friends and was like, "FRIENDS. come over, I have a week to think up a comic series!!!" 😂😂

One of my favorite things in Leverage Redemption is Sophie. Every character has developed and we have a lot to talk about regarding this new information on Eliot, of course, but I think it's Sophie that is given the most room to grow here.
In the original, Sophie is never without her mask. We see her on the con, we're privy to her budding relationship with Nate, etc. etc. etc. Yet we never see her vulnerable. Even when she's caught without a plan, even when Nate gets shot, she may show true emotion but she is never truly Sophie. It's always under a guise or some pre-approved message.
In Redemption all walls seem to have fallen. Here we are presented with a fallen hero, a woman that used to walk around claiming to be a duchess, practically a goddess. And yet she is still just as human as the rest of us. She still mourns her husband, she still has a family to take care of. She was one of the greats, but unlike the greats she is not alone when she comes crashing down.
In the original most of Sophie's screen time was spent looking after Nate and the rest of the team. She would show up after he did something stupid or drank too much and force him to think about his decisions. And she would spend her time helping Parker learn how to be a human. When was Sophie ever just Sophie, with all the nuance, love, and grace her character deserved?
Now we get that. Now we are discovering for the first time who Sophie is, what haunts her, and why she fights. In a way we are better off without Nate, even if his death causes her grief, because for the very first time we get to meet Sophie unequivocally.
I didn't really like Sophie in the original because I felt like there was no effort put into her character. She felt flat, just someone there to keep Nate in line. But now she's someone I can root for.

OMG, when did Leverage become good again?! I mean, don’t get me wrong, Redemption was adorable, but it just lacked... something. And that something sure returned in the latest episodes!
Sophie’s monologue about Nate in The Pyramid Job, and then her daughter, too! I absolutely adored Parker’s attitude about Astrid throughout the episode skskskksks
The corrupt cops were straight up terrifying!
And the episode filmed from the PoV of a random bystander who gets involved is marvelous.
All in all, I feel like the team is allowed to fail more now, to be vulnerable, more human, and so - way more relatable. Somehow Redemption started to feel like the old Leverage, if not better

these last two episodes of Leverage Redemption have ben so fricken good!
The Work Study Job was great! peak Leverage, it reminded my of OG Leverage. the way they ran the con and most importantly how the con went wrong and they had to fix it on the fly. (that's what's been missing in Redemption IMO, but we can talk about that later.)
Plus Parker and Eliot being down to kidnap a guy for Breannea?
Bre: i want this guy bound and gagged in front of me in two hours
Eliot: i can get him here in one
classic. i love it.
The Belly of the Beast job was fantastic! such a great twist on the format, to follow someone other than the main characters, to sort of see what it's like from their POV.
it was so funny and so smart.
i love Redemption keeps on this path. with these two episodes alone, season two is already leagues ahead of season one.

The Bat-Adoption Papers are literal Magic Contracts
So! In the Deified Batman AU (the AU where the Belief of the peoples of Gotham accidentally Ascended Batman to minor godhood), the Bat Adoption Papers would be a fun concept.
Batman is a God of The Night, Fear, and Protection. Specifically, the protection of Children, which is one of his biggest motivators. Meaning, it's a big part of his Divine Domain.
So when he, a God of Protection and Children, adopts his own Child? It's kind of a big deal.
His Adoption Papers basically become Magical Contracts that claim Dick to him as his own Son, basically turning Dick into a Demigod by the fact that he is the Son of a God.
Then each time Batman adopts a kid, they become a Demigod as well. Maybe after enough time, and after they forge their own Identities, they could become Minor Gods of their own? Idk, fun idea
Why do I bring this up?
Well, when Danny eventually joins the JLA, and runs into Batman, all he sees in a God of the Night, who takes one look at him, and then pulls out a Magical Binding Contract from his Belt.
Needless to say, he books it.
