Match Review: Newcastle United 1-0 Manchester United

Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes were our standouts tonight, with decent performances from Mainoo and Garnacho, but otherwise it was another shitshow from United and a boring defeat.

Marcus Rashford had one of his worst games for United. Anthony Martial is an empty shirt. Scott McTominay cannot be starting with his lack of willing to be in possession. He's scared of the ball and stands in positions you cannot reach him in. You cannot carry three players and expect to draw, let alone win. Fuck me sideways.

Newcastle in contrast looked comfortable, despite all their injuries. The home advantage helps but that wasn't a big factor tonight. It was how well drilled they are. They have visible, regular patterns of play. They put in a shift, and that's down to Eddie Howe.

In contrast, the Red Devils seemed half a second off every bit of play and I don't know if we ever won a second ball all game. Half of this falls on the players, but half falls on Erik Ten Hag. Are we setting high enough standards in training? Are we giving appropriate coaching? Or are players doing it behind closed doors then forgetting how to play ball once they're on the field?

Something isn't right STILL with Manchester United, and it's fucking infuriating. It's almost 2024 and we're still at the point of questioning whether Manchester United need another clear-out. There's a handful of players I'd fight to keep right now, but the majority of the squad I'd have no qualms about leaving. That's a damning indictment. This is approaching Football Manager levels of overhaul, and showcases exactly why the Glazers are shit and why proper football leadership (directors and advisors etc) are a must-have.

I think a mostly forgotten character in the scheme of DC comics that had potential to be really interesting is Eddie Bloomberg Kid devil. This is mostly based on design, but what if kid devil was a baby Trigon? I was thinking that maybe blue devil is a really doting father to kid devil sheltering and babying him all the time, kid devil loves his blue dad and wants to help him. Maybe even try to be stronger and more independent so blue doesn't have to worry about him so much, but blue always assures him that he'll be there for him always and kid never has to worry or be afraid of anything because Blue can handle everything. It's really cute and everything but...here's a fun little caveat. Because of this Kid devil never grows up, he stays a child for a very long time. Maybe in the underworld, hell, whatever it is can be deeply connected to consciousness or cognition. So maybe time doesn't progress normally and devils who come from that realm only grow up when they're mentally of age, devils who are coddled and sheltered and treated like children will stay children until something happens where they gain experiences that age them. It's not generally a problem in Devil society to have some child devils. Though when a population has a lot of young devil and war comes many of them will end up suddenly maturing quickly to fend off the invader. In the case of Kid devil; Blue while he genuinely loves his little red devil son very much he's been tasked with keeping him young, harmless, and away from the rest of devil society in fear of what could happen if he's able to grow up into Trigon. Maybe in normal devil society there's factions that know what Kid devil really is and want to worship or kill him, keep him trapped forever or banish him to somewhere he can't ever harm them as Trigon. So there used to be civil wars passing around the baby red devil for ages until Blue picked him up and decided that the best solution for putting off Trigon is to raise him but only as far as to keep him a naive and happy child for as long as possible maybe even teach him a fondness for nature so he won't be too destructive if he ever ends up growing up but ideally he never does. One day kid devil comes across someone who strikes him a deal, it's a strange one but it sounds like he has everything to gain from it and nothing to actually lose. In exchange for great strength and powers, he needs to continue to keep his trust in his guardian when he comes of age. To kid this deal doesn't really make sense, not that he really knows how negotiation works, but the terms seem like something he'd be able to keep pretty easily given that he already trusts Blue wholeheartedly for everything because he's his dad. That and he doesn't really see himself ever really coming of age because he will always be with Blue who will always love and protect him. He takes the power because he wants to be able to help Blue sometimes too. This mysterious person chuckles at kid's naivety and lets him in on some secrets about the power already inheirent in him. Some seals are broken and Kid gets some nice extra super powers and he's happy. Blue gets nervous but he's happy that his son is happy that he can help him some more in their survival in the wilderness and odd jobs. However with the power they end up in more dangerous situations that mature Kid devil eventually to the point that he's able to question things and wonder why he has special powers that dad doesn't have and why they never really go into any cities and what did that stranger do that activated his powers. Until he starts to uncover the secret that his dad has been hiding from him. Blue has been hiding the fact that Kid has been THE Trigon a being that transends time and space, with the destiny to be a destroyer of worlds. He's been hiding the truth from him in order to keep him small and ignorant of what he's destined to truly become. It's then that his trust in his guardian is broken and he begins his path to becoming the Trigon. like look at this

like why not have them be the same person? I'll draw up this idea some more if you guys think it's interesting.
