Our race is only a single generation — finite, and dying all too quickly.

Empty words that had amounted to nothing. So many of his people were dead, scattered throughout the cities they had attempted to claim, their intentions thwarted by the humans who’d had the resilience to not only survive, but to fight back. It should have been easy, and yet…

His head lulled to the side, staring up at the sky. His body had given up a long while ago. Even if he could physically move, Ramattra did not think he’d have the energy to do so. They had done more damage to him than he’d initially thought, and though one could not label him as a poor fighter, having the entirety of Overwatch’s field group coming at him at once had quickly become overwhelming. The old crusader had not hesitated with his hammer, and he could smell the scent of his own blood sticking to his gears. Railguns were not to be trifled with.

His siege was over.

It had been over the moment the last ship had fallen, but in stubborn fashion, the omnic hadn’t admitted defeat until he could no longer stand. Having practically dragged himself to safety, he was left alone with his thoughts, which was crueler than any punishment that the vigilantes could concoct. What had become of his people, the ones who had sought refuge and liberation? Those who had agreed with his ideals without partaking in the violence? Would they be jailed for crimes they did not commit, simply for association? After all, humans did quite enjoy their assumptions.

A soft hiss escaped his mouth, and he wondered exactly how long it would take him to die.

Here's a drawing I did of a role play I did with my friend.

Some context: It's been a week since Geno gave birth to Goth via a emergency C-section. (Goth has wings like Reaper and it would have been dangerous to give birth naturally). [Also this AU is where monsters over time have evolved to look human]

Geno forcefully drags Reaper to their bedroom emotionally distraught, he sits Reaper on the bed and lifts his shirt to show the new scar added to his body

Geno: -feeling insecure about his body he tearfully asks Reaper- "Reaper are you sure you don't think their disgusting?"

cross-posted via Republics Today In pursuit of a means to alleviate their debts, the asari republic of Drushana has announced they will put up for auction a collection of writings from the late Matriarch Benezia, in one week's time. Now known best as 'the Matriarch who sided with the Reapers', Benezia was once seen as a model asari elder whose writings were valued by many. Following the revelation that she was working with the Reapers, Benezia's writings are no longer disseminated, and in the intervening years they have been subject to intense scrutiny as scholars try to determine exactly when she became indoctrinated. The dating and origin of the collection being auctioned remain unclear, but the sale is expected to draw interest from numerous institutions and universities across the Asari Republics, not to mention private collectors. Also to be included in the auction are assorted artifacts and relics from the Batarian Hegemony, as well as other items of historical significance long held in museums and other public institutions of Drushana.

Venus would carefully lead Dead away from the public to somewhere more secluded, she had to be sure it wasn’t someone who may have had bad intentions in mind with her, since there were those bold few who thought they could bully her around even though she had great power to her as a whole.

So her playing around like that was more to probe how much Dead believed that idea, as true as it was that she, a phoenix who was involved with the life and death cycles of every living person, was real and not myth like she had become.
