Gotta love how Bill Hader directs live action as if he was directing an animated cartoon.. Because thats exactly how some of the left field things that happen on BARRY feel like.. Actual live action cartoon.
Like what he does requires type of thinking that you dont get if you specialise just on live action. But not everybody can make it work.

Me, coming up with Stanford backstory: “oh yeah, this is gonna be pure, over-the-top, anime inspired, balls-to-the-walls fun!”
Me, coming up with Stanley backstory: “ok let’s see how much I can kill my audience”

Wonderful Things That May Or May Not Be Wonderful
And just this past month, the continuation of the story was released as Epithet Erased: Prison of Plastic and it’s pretty spectacular. Not as an animation, this time, it's an audiobook narrated by the creator, Jelloapocalypse a.k.a. Brendan Blaber with all the characters fully voice acted which is still pretty sweet. As for the story itself, it doesn't have as many creative uses of superpowers and some parts do drag but it absolutely makes up for it by having everything that was awesome about the first series and more. More fun, more laughs, and more FEEELS as we bear witness to the story of a home broken by tragedy and of two sisters at odds with each other, one forced to bear the crushing weight of reality and the other callously retreating into fantasy. There are some powerhouse moments in this tale and it makes me hope that it will continue on into the future. Audio book, animation or other, I don’t care. Epithet Erased is still wonderful and Prison of Plastic is specifically #wonderful. Also, Giovanni is still Best Boi.

I just rewatched Paprika, a really good anime movie from 2006. It deals with dreamscapes and reality, and moving on from the past. Some of the visuals are pretty trippy and even quite frankly disturbing, so if body morphing or mild body horror, or one weird body horror/pseudo SA are triggering for you, it might not be the movie for you.
Safe to say, I enjoyed it much more this time around, and being able to watch the whole movie from start to finish meant I understood a lot more what was actually going on, rather than having it be interrupted and, I'm sure, missing a really important chunk of the movie at the beginning.
Also SPOILERS idk how to do spoilers on Tumblr so you're just getting fair warning and if someone wants to tell me how then you can but the next paragraph is a spoiler.... ....
(shout out to the writers for having cop character in the film having a totally adult and normal reaction to not Getting The Girl, i.e. he was like "oh, okay" and didn't sulk or flip out, and the story didn't force them together either...)

I felt like I'd not only exaggerated the emotions of our evening together but wholly invented them.

In regards to your kink posts, what about fucking the family dog??
In a fantasy it’s super gross & hot. In reality, animals cannot consent to sex and that would be animal abuse and super fucked up.

Behind all of the catchy slogans are the billions of animals who are suffering in the meat and dairy industry.

Since I keep getting eye pains(migraines? Unconfirmed) which prevent eye from staying open, I was recommended an eyepatch… it’ll probs help but I can’t stop thinking -
Chuunibyou irl 😂
I always liked eyepatches in anime ngl… the real one is ofc a bit different tho… if it helps settle whatever’s happening, then 👍
