Holy shit you guys are horny for Minoru Suzuki. That was impressive. When the Swerve poll was posted, I was like "Oh yeah he's gonna go to the top of the men's rankings." No. Minoru Suzuki's bare ass from 30 years ago is what does it for Tumblr.
In other news, the Raven fuckers are vindicated. ECW era-Raven has been deemed smashable, but it was close. Four votes made the difference. I commented to my husband that trying to find a good photo of him was stressing me out, so he had a look and commented, "He seems like the kind of guy that is remembered for being hotter than he actually was."
On average, women are 73.2% smashable. Carmella has the dishonorable distinction of being the least smashable woman so far, and being one of two women to be voted not smashable (the other being Cheerleader Julia Hart). Sorry, anonymous person who called her "the most beautiful woman in the WWE." For those who are curious, men are 55.0% smashable on average. Also, this blog's women's division is comparable to the AEW women's division in that women have been featured in 10 polls total, compared to 82 polls for men.
Thanks for bearing with me through the Christmas and New Year holidays. I full on forgot what day it was for a few days there, then I got home from traveling and my keyboard broke??? so please excuse any typos because I am typing on the worst keyboard in the world.
And now for some of my favorite tags and comments

@grimdarkfandango on Swerve: #yes I know about the blood drinking and it was hot thank u

@arthausen on Neckstron Roderick Strong: #I love pathetic men and I would love to re-break his neck. smash

@dollsome-does-tumblr tagged me on my top 9 books. I need to stress how HARD this was to choose only 9. As someone who (checks my GR) reads an average of 75 books a year, this was incredibly stressful but I did it. This are my top books that I come back and re-read, year after year, some decade after decade.
The Queen's Thief by Megan Walen Turner: Our first introduction to Gen, love of my life and the most unreliable narrator I have ever met.
Persuasion by Jane Austen: Second chance at love? Indifferent family members? Anne who thinks Wentworth is completely and totally over her and Wentworth, who thinks he is completely and totally over Anne except she's the sole focus of his attention every time they meet up? HERE FOR IT.
Betsy Was a Junior by Maud Hart Lovelace: It is really hard to pick one from the series, the last six books I usually re-read in one go but I love Betsy's junior year if only for the herbarium project shenagians - "THERE WERE NO FALL FLOWERS TURNED IN! NEVER, IN ALL MY TEACHING YEARS!" Incredible.
The Firebird by Susanan Kearsley: You have to read book #1 first but this sequel is my favorite (and I love books 1 and 3 a lot!). So many characters and storylines and I adore the setting. At 500 pages it's one of those books you can just sit down and spend a entire day getting lost in it. Which I do no matter how many times I re-read.
Slightly Dangerous by Mary Balogh: Re-read this back in July and this historical romance novel still holds up. Such a great love story. Also nice to see Wulfric meet someone who isn't afraid of him, his ducal title and his quizzing glass.
Anne of Green Gables by LM Montgomery: I first discovered Anne when I was 10 or 11 and instantly recognized she was a kindred spirit. That feeling hasn't changed over the years. That said, I had a hard choice choosing between this one or Rilla of Ingleside, because I love Rilla so much as well. This one won out 'cuz it the start of Anne and her story but Rilla was a close runner up.
Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell: Don't get me wrong, I love North and South and the romance, but this monstrosity of book depicting small town (white) life back in 1800's England I love just a smidge more. It's got everything - family, step parents, young love, charismatic older men, secrets and gossip. Lots and lots of gossip. Seriously. This book is little old ladies gossip central station.
Long May She Reign by Ellen Emerson White: Final book in the President's Daughter series and my absolute favorite. Meg is one of the toughest fictional characters I have ever met and I am in awe of her and her strength. Plus, she's the President's daughter which is its own strain to bear.
Romancing Mr. Bridgerton by Julia Quinn: I know people have *opinions* on the show but let me tell you, when I first read this book twenty years ago it imprinted on my soul like a little baby bird. Colin and Penelope forever! Always!
tagging @queenofattolia @ladytharen @acehardy @mrgaretcarter @librarianmouse @stars-inthe-sky @hmsharmony @waywardted and whoever else wants to do this. I know I have more readers on my dash!

Mountain getaway
Pairing: Buddy Matthews x Fem reader x Julia Hart
Description: You and your partners take a trip to the mountains for a romantic trip
Tumblr media
Julia smiles when she sees you asleep in the front seat while Buddy drives to the mountains for your trip together for the next few weeks away from wrestling and training. You wake up as buddy carries you inside smiling when you see the inside of the cabin and the woods through the window all of you eating and having a lazy night in waking up and hiking the trails together stopping for lunch at a small park absolutely loving the peace and quiet serene of the forests and wilderness walking the rest of the biggest trail before heading back to the cabin groaning at buddy massaging the back of your legs before each of you shower watching buddy drawing the scene right outside the bedroom while julia bird watched on the front porch making a stew which was very delicious before all of you turned in for the night going out the next morning picking berries being mindful of their colors knowing that red ones usually were toxic depending on how bright they were coming back with blue, black, and red currant berries use half to make a juice while the others were used for breakfast saving the rest for the next two weeks of staying in the woods going with julia later in the day to collect leaves since the season was changing. After coming back all of you have a small campfire not too far away roasting some deer meat from a few hunters you found on the trails then s'mores having fun sharing a few sips of tequila and taking pictures together agreeing to come back later in the year or the next year as the two of you spend the last two nights re exploring all the trails and woods taking many pictures before slowly packing and leaving definitely recommending your friends go up there or go with the three of you the next time which ended up being a roster trip which everyone enjoyed having frequent trips two or three times to the woods out of a year and each time it was more wonderful than the last.

Tumblr media
Black Mist
A sub universe of my platonic fics where the reader loses her memories of Eddie and has to go back to WWE. Heavily focused on The Shield drama and Eddie trying to make her remember their past together. Slight angst, a touch of humor, and supernatural elements.

When the House of Black attacks Jon Moxley, Eddie and Sofia come to his aid, but things take a dark turn when Sofia is misted by Julia Hart. Mox makes a decision that affects all of them greatly.

Wrestling Edit Challenge 21
I’m going to try not to answer Pentagon Jr. for every question, but you know how it goes...
Wrestler you recently became a fan of: Julia Hart. Her improvement week on week has been incredible. She can still be rough around the edges, but she’s willing to try anything and seems to be a quick learner.
Wrestler with the best gears: Thunder Rosa. I’ve loved everything so far.
Match that you watch for comfort or match you could re-watch forever: Kooky choice, but Best Friends vs Proud & Powerful, parking lot brawl.
Wrestler(s) that you like, but doesn’t get enough love on tumblr/social media: Vary Morales, LA Park, Vikingo, Pagano, Zenshi, Top Flight.
Wrestler you want to win a championship this year: Pentagon Jr. Don’t care which championship, but he deserves a belt.
Wrestler that excels as both face and heel: Pentagon Jr. His heel work in AAA made him an anti-hero, people just wouldn’t dislike him.
Favorite finishing move: Code Red, Awful Waffle, Pentagon Driver, basically anything that involves dumping someone on their head.
Feud that you wish would have been capitalized on (maybe it ended too soon? or maybe there was foreshadowing that never amounted to anything?): I really thought we were going to see The Elite vs The Elite Hunters (Mox, Eddie, Lucha Bros, Pac, Kaz), but that seems to have been kicked to the curb in favour of building Omega vs Hangman. A Blood & Guts match would have been perfect.
Favorite championship reign: AEW - Mox. AAA - Lucha Bros with the tag belts.
Dream cross-brand feud: I wanna see a AAA invasion of AEW so bad. Like, LA Park facing Shawn Spears for the right to the name The Chairman. Vikingo mixing it up with Dante Martin, Sammy and Fenix. Miro facing Black Taurus.

Antony & The Johnsons
youtube
All’età di 18 anni mette in scena le prime performance, ispirate a John Waters e all’icona-guru Divine.
https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antony_and_the_Johnsons Antony and the Johnsons is a music group presenting the work of Antony Hegarty and her collaborators.
British experimental musician David Tibet of Current 93 heard a demo and offered to release Antony’s music through his Durtro label. Antony started the band, its name inspired by the transgender rights activist Marsha P. Johnson.[3] The debut album, Antony and the Johnsons, was released in 1998. In 2001, Hegarty released a short follow-up EP, I Fell in Love with a Dead Boy, which, in addition to the title track, included a cover of “Mysteries of Love”, a David Lynch/Angelo Badalamenti song and “Soft Black Stars”, a Current 93 cover.
Producer Hal Willner heard the EP and played it to Lou Reed, who immediately recruited Hegarty for his project The Raven. Now gaining more attention, Hegarty signed to US-based record label Secretly Canadian, and released another EP, The Lake, with Lou Reed guest-performing on one of the tracks. Secretly Canadian also re-released Hegarty’s debut album in the United States to wider distribution in 2004.
Antony’s second full-length album, 2005’s I Am a Bird Now, was greeted with positive reviews and significantly more mainstream attention. The album featured guest appearances by Lou Reed, Rufus Wainwright, Boy George and Devendra Banhart, and circled themes of duality and transformation. I Am a Bird Now featured arrangements by Maxim Moston and Julia Kent and was mixed by Doug Henderson. In September 2005 Antony and the Johnsons were awarded the Mercury Prize or the best UK album of 2005. Rival Mercury nominees, and favorites for the prize, the Kaiser Chiefs suggested that Antony got in on a technicality; despite the fact she was born in the United Kingdom she spent much of her time in the US – although they later apologized for the suggestion that she wasn’t a deserving winner. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antony_and_the_Johnsons

2020 Reading Challenge - E-Book Edition!
According to Amazon, I have exactly 294 e-books currently sitting in my Kindle library.
Granted, some of these books have been read and are being saved for a second (or third, or fourth) re-read, but when it comes down to it, that number is around 40 books, give or take.
Which means I still have over 250 books that need to be read.
And it’s not like I haven’t tried! There are plenty of titles that, when opened up, will go to the last place I left off - that being chapter 5, or maybe chapter 10. But sometimes life gets in the way. Or a sudden interest in another author. Or a new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. But whatever the reason may be, it’s over 250 books that haven’t been read. Challenge accepted!
For 2020, I commit to not buying any new books to add to my Kindle library (checking out books from the library is ok, because you’ve gotta support your local library!), and instead focus on the books I already have. So no addition of 99 cent books, or Kindle Unlimited books, or books that are suddenly 75% off. Only the books that I currently have.
As the reading commences, and after the book is finished, I’ll update my list to indicate what has been completed, along with the date purchased, and a short review (or a reason I just couldn’t finish it at all).
Below is the list for future reference - and to clarify my what my favorite genre is. Spoiler: it’s romance novels.
Here we go!

New from Every Movie Has a Lesson by Don Shanahan: MOVIE REVIEW: Stargirl
Tumblr media
(Image: polygon.com)
STARGIRL— 4 STARS
When you take a gander at Grace VanderWaal’s title character in Stargirl, you probably don’t think “unassuming.” The loud outfit seems goudy. The ukulele on her back reeks of ostentatiousness. And, by golly, that rat on her shoulder screams straight-up weird. Miraculously and sweetly, director Julia Hart makes all of this boldness as unassuming as possible, free of arrogance or pretension. The modesty of Jerry Spinelli’s hit source novel is intact and invigorating on this Disney+ original.
The storyteller circling the briefly introduced orb of oddity is Leo Borlock (TV actor Graham Verchere, recently of The Good Doctor and Supergirl). He and his widowed single mother (Scandal cast member Darby Stanchfield) moved to Mica, Arizona in elementary school. He decided very quickly that laying low more than standing out ensured his civic survival. Now a 16-year-old high school junior, Leo makes no waves in his friend circle working the school’s TV talk show “Hot Seat” and holding down his trumpeter’s place in the fledgling marching band.
That all changes when Leo gets a glimpse at the alluring Stargirl Caraway, the mysterious new girl to the popularity battleground hallways after years as a home-schooled local. She draws stares, gawks, and quizzical words with her every action. The eyes multiply when Stargirl steps out to midfield at halftime of a losing football game for an impromptu performance. Rocking the ukulele and belting her encouragement in song, the spotlight never leaves Grace VanderWaal or her character from there on out.
LESSON #1: UNIQUENESS AND TALENT ARE POPULAR— Soon enough, Stargirl’s inspiring presence turns everyone’s spirits and luck around. An uncommon kindness seemingly pours out of her smile and sparkling eyes. Stargirl goes from peculiar to popular overnight as a new centerpiece cheerleader that roots for everything big and small. Her aura is something intangible for everyone, especially our Leo.
LESSON #2: ACCEPTING BOLDNESS— It goes without saying that the bold stand out. Boldness can be too much in the same way shyness is too little, or how impulsive doers act without thinking while meek thinkers never go out and do. “Differentness,” as Spinelli once called it in the book, can incite emulation and ostracism with equally unknown odds or results. The catalyst or the tonic for any acceptance is ego, and Stargirl doesn’t have a hint of one.
Leo is clearly smitten and seeks to spend time following Stargirl. These opportunities are welcomed in return by her. Their whimsical and chaste sweep of young love changes his soul and challenges him to re-embrace his confidence to be different like he used to be. All goes swimmingly well until a pair of acts of kindness are taken the wrong way in a calamitous social fallout.
It is in the shared moments away from the fickle crowds that Stargirl shows its essence. What would be loud and bouncing bounds in other high school/YA romances moves instead with soothing saunters among the saguros silhouetting the New Mexico magic hours doubling as Arizona. Excellent camera polish from cinematographer Bryce Fortner (Ingrid Goes West) to not overlight these sequences and more. Credit for shrewdly nailing the vibe of Spinelli’s book into a teeming and tidy movie goes to director and co-writer Julia Hart, her Fast Color filmmakin partner Jordan Horowitz, and Dumplin’ screenwriter Kristin Hahn. Like the author, they put maturity above the manic pixie dream girl trope that threatens to be overbearing.
Verchere and VanderWaal exudes comfortable chemistry that is not over-spiked. He is steady where he needs to be, dotes where he needs to dote, but the showcase was alway going to be her. Grace VanderWaal, showing true charm on camera, rightly has her multiple talents on display in this, her acting debut after rising to stardom as an America’s Got Talent champion. VanderWaal is often backed by the strumming and dreamy electronica bends of composer Rob Simonsen and vinyl-friendly playlist of throwbacks. Her inescapable voice fills the soundtrack, our ears, and our hearts (stay through the credits for the full effect).
LESSON #3: NONCONFORMITY SHOULD BE COMFORTABLE— Without question, the largest and best takeaway from Stargirl is the lack of shame one should feel for their differences. Stargirl’s contagious morale comes from an easy poise and an empathetic aim to please. Much like Leo, the people who know you and truly get you are the only people you need to be popular with. Don’t hide from love or loves that are out of the ordinary. That’s precisely what becomes the extraordinary.

When the MI6 was the victim of numerous virtual attacks done by a certain "specialist", in London at the same time, disappearances of Kingsman knights and secret agents of the MI5 on the British soil become more frequent, disturbing New Scotland Yard and The International Secret Services who do not know how to stop these attacks seem to come from inside as well as from outside.
In Paris, a sword of Damocles hangs above the head of Guillaume Debailly and Marina Loiseau, agents of the DGSE and the prestigious Bureau Des Légendes. The self-proclaimed and extremely dangerous sociopath consultant, chased by Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, Jim Moriaty would be alive and would have been seen by the two agents in Iran, Morocco, Damascus and Paris itself. The two clandestine agents then perhaps hold a hypothesis to a riddle that could be more foggy and complex to settle than expected.
Definitely the crossover that you didn't knew you need until now.
