POTO Fluff Week 2022 Day 1: Summer
Raoul wiped some sweat from his brow, giving Christine a grin only slightly delirious from the heat. “It's quite lovely, isn't it?”
Raoul’s summer house was quite lovely indeed, but Christine was more fixated on how handsome he looked today. It was so hot her husband-to-be was dressed only in a crisp white shirt and some trousers adorned with suspenders-- improper for a man of his stature, she was sure. But she was also sure he didn't much care, because together they had always been improper, which could also be known to them as fun.
“It is, Raoul. But before we go inside, do you think we could sit in the shade for a few minutes? It's very hot today.” He nodded, gently taking her hand. “I agree. Let's see…what about that tree over there?” He pointed to a towering oak tree a few paces away from the manicured lawn, and they made their way towards it, their steps matching exactly. Christine watched as Raoul took a deep breath of the sweet, humid air, and then she copied him. Soon they were engaged in a contest of who could draw the deepest breath. She was dizzy from all the breathing and from giggling by the time they got to the tree.
“Ah! This is peaceful,” Raoul mused, rubbing his back against the base of the thick trunk to get comfortable. Christine thought so too. From this spot they had the most wonderful view of the huge white-painted house and she even caught a glimpse of the beach nearby.
“Raoul…” Christine began, inching closer to him on the grass. “Aren't your suspenders only making you warmer?” She slipped her finger underneath one of the straps, unable to keep a smile off her face.
“Not much. I-- oh. Why, as a matter of fact, they are, Miss Daae,” he laughed, letting her do the honors of unfastening them.
Kissing him under the tree didn't make either of them any cooler, but it was a dreamy start to what Christine was sure would be a dreamy summer.

I didn't think I had ever written anything Raoulstine but a friend reminded me that I had - Ankou - and then I remembered that when I wrote the first chapter, I almost made myself CRY with the sadness of the doomed and tragic love between Raoul and Christine. Your may not cry. I think I was just having an overly dramatic day.
So here's my contribution to Raoulstine Week 2022:
Ankou - rated Mature, 11.5k words, 3 chapters, AO3.

Raoulstine Week 2022
Tumblr media
@raoulstineweek
Okay so I forgot to post things on the right day! OH WELL, that just means I’m gonna cram two stories into today, the last day. Efficient!
First up, for Family:
Life continues on for Raoul and his wife, but, stalked by a figure from their past, will he ever find peace? Post-ALW, 1,700 words, drama/comedy, rated G, very dumb and it’s maybe my favorite thing I’ve written.
And second, for Celebration:
Despite Erik’s warnings, Christine celebrates her first Christmas with Raoul and receives a gift that leaves no doubt about which man loves her most. Written for PotO Advent Calendar 2020, 2,500 words, a strong T rating, sort of funny? I think it’s funny. Raoul would not.
Also, I suppose I’d better add in a plug for my ongoing WIP, which features a post-ALW married Raoul and Christine, but like, Erik is there too.
111,000 words so far, strong M rating, drama/comedy/angst/sex stuff.
It was in writing this one that I really grew to love Raoul and appreciate the depth and complexity he adds to the story. So, sorry, 13 year old Flora, but he’s actually not the villain of the story. (The villain is that darn lasso, it just has a mind of its own! Erik is, of course, completely blameless and actually a perfect baby angel who just wants to be loved; you did get that right. 🥰🥰 KIDDING ofc)

Day 7: Free day!!!
Mizrahi/Sephardi Jewish Christine
Let's go home-Natsuki Takaya
ID:Christine (with Mizrahi/Sephardi heritage) telling Raoul of Mizrahi (Moroccan heritage) that they are going home,up to the surface
"Rai-Rai let's go home as our community is waiting for us"
This one is a free day so I capture my Christine telling Raoul that they're going home to where their Jewish community is
For this duo,I did their names to Cidila and Rauf as they use it as a way to blend into Gentile Parisian society
This free day is showing Cidila (Christine) telling Rauf (Raoul )in the phantom's lair  that they're ready to go home after she return the ring back to the Phantom (It's a mini in between scene before they riding the boat),This is one unforgettable Yom Kippur  that they're never forget (also he organised this day to premiere Don Juan to catch him in the act which did backfired in that day) which they are warmly welcomed back by their community and have that meal/supper from this ordeal they went through,I enjoying painting the boat and the environment here,I recently play around with a hanfu inspired coat
Plus it's nice to showcase the diversity of the Jewish Culture beyond the east european that normally seen in media,I pick the Sephardi (Spanish Jewish) and Mizrahi (MENA/SWANA Jewish) which is not shown much in the media and thought it will be lovely to showcase here. This Christine is created from @behindthemirrorofmusic who created a lovely Phantom Jewish history which showcase how Jewish representation play a part in Phantom
I got some additional help from navybird from my Discord in being the supervisor on the lived Jewish experience after my bad head-canon writing  which I'm not good at,In art department for my POC jewish Christine and Raoul duo,I use a good combination of looks for them,Christine is the most fun as I mix the SWANA faxes that look interesting with a lovely Spanish actress for an unique look while keeping the doll-like imagery in mind.
Hope you enjoy this Raoulstine with my fruit salad Christine and Raoul,As I'm more of an artist of East Asian heritage than a writer on the lived experience of different cultures,it would be nice to collaborate with writers with these lived experiences in helping me in doing these fruit salad gang justice, let me know if interested

@raoulstineweek Day 5: Family
Welp! Introducing an AU where Gustave is Raoul's son (though with LND's plotholes, it can be assumed that he is also Raoul's son in both). He is a teenager now and the girl he is carrying is Amelia, who was adopted by the de Chagnys after finding her outside and being unable to find her parents. I also have one fan child but I didn't really have the energy :P

Me: "Awesome! Are you going to think of stories involving the canon characters everyone knows and likes?"
Brain: "Who? :)"
Me: "You're...you're not only gonna give me ideas involving my sex-swap AU, are you?"
Brain: "Exactly those. :)"

POTO Fluff Week Day 2: Concert
Raoul always loved it when Christine was practicing her singing at home. His estate became so full of life and beauty every time her voice echoed through the halls. So he strolled aimlessly down one, just listening to her warm up her voice with scales. He especially loved to hear her warm up because he loved to hear the strength and confidence build in her voice, which reminded him of her incredible strength of character.
All of a sudden, she stopped-- at her gorgeous high C, no less-- and he heard scuffling of shoes in the room nearby. “Drat!”
He poked his head in the doorway to see her crossing her arms and pouting, though the pout quickly turned into a smile when she saw him. “What’s wrong, Christine? You sound lovely to me.” He shut the door to her music room and made his way over to her, proceeding to give her a peck on the cheek. She sighed and uncrossed her arms.
“Oh, it's nothing, really. I think my voice is just tired today-- I've been so busy these past few weeks with performances, and I haven't given it a minute’s rest! I really shouldn't expect to have the…resonance I usually do.” She looked at him, and he wondered what sort of expression he had on his face because she laughed. “I'm sure you have no clue what I'm talking about. I'm sorry, sweetheart.”
He shook his head, wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her ear on his way to speak in it. “I think you underestimate me, my love. I know more about music than you think.”
“Oh, really?” She asked, biting her lower lip in a manner that Raoul thought made her look all the more adorable. “And just what knowledge might you have?”
“Well, I took violin lessons when I was a boy, and…that's all I can think of at the moment,” he chuckled. Christine turned around to make a face before ruffling his hair as a playful reprimand. “Raoul! That doesn't count!” She began to tickle his midsection-- he’d made a horrible mistake of revealing the spot to her when they were cuddling a few weeks ago-- and Raoul quickly became desperate to say anything to get her to relent.
“Oh, oh-- and I sing, too!” He gasped, and she stopped. “You most certainly do not!” She said, her eyes bright and happy. Raoul just nodded vigorously. “Yes, I sing. You've just never gotten the chance to hear me.”
Christine crossed her arms again, but this time he could tell she had a proposition and not a problem. “Alright. Then please, serenade me, Monsieur le Vicomte.”
He bowed to her and cleared his throat. “Nothing would please me more. Since your voice is tired, let mine sing instead.”
He started with some of his own scales, and then moved on to some of her favorite songs. He was no vocalist like Christine, but she seemed to love the concert he put on, even when he flubbed the lyrics and especially when he changed some for comic effect. Raoul loved to hear Christine sing, but even more he loved to hear her laugh the way she did that evening in her music room.

POTO Fluff Week 2022 Day 3: Meet Cute
Christine scrunched up her nose, which was turning a shade of cold-nipped pink on the beach. Now she thought that maybe it hadn't been such a good idea to take an afternoon stroll-- this afternoon in particular happened to be very, very cold and very gray. But at least now she didn't have to worry about anyone else crowding the beach. It was just her and Raoul.
“Does my nose look as chilly as yours, Little Lotte?” Raoul asked, kissing hers right on the tip and sending a delightfully warm flutter all through her.
“Yes!” She answered, leaning over and giving him a brisk kiss for his nose, which in mere moments turned into a lengthy kiss for his lips. She closed her eyes, and forgot all about the crashing waves from the adjoining sea and the wind too, until something soft blew off of her shoulders.
“My scarf!” She looked down at her dress and saw that her precious red scarf had indeed blown away, again. She cursed herself for even having worn it in the first place on a windy day like today.
When she looked up, Raoul wasn't next to her.
But then she heard something, ever so faintly from that sea. She ran down the beach, and the closer she got to the water the more she could make out the words…
“...Got it! I’ve got it!” Raoul was soaking wet and holding her scarf.
“Raoul! It's freezing!” She yelled, splashing into the waves to meet him. She supposed she was a hypocrite then, charging after him as he'd charged after the scarf. But it was freezing.
“That didn't stop me the first time, did it?” He told her through chattering teeth. She could see his breath and hers mixing together in the November air.
She hugged him close in response to his remark. “No, it didn't. And I'm grateful you saved my scarf, again. I ought to pin it to my dress from now on, don't you think?” They had a nice laugh about it all and as they waded back to shore together Christine thought back to that first time she'd lost her scarf in the sea. She thought back to how it was like that was the day she’d really met Raoul, because that was the day she'd realized how devoted he could be. So she would start pinning her scarf to her dress, but she was glad to know he would fetch it for her another time if she ever did forget.

POTO Fluff Week 2022 Day 5: Picnic
Raoul and Christine agreed they had picked the most splendid spot for an afternoon picnic. They'd found the loveliest hill in the Parisian countryside, and by chance they'd found it on a day so clear there wasn't a single cloud in the sky. The only problem was that their lovely hill was just that. A hill that needed to be hiked up to the top.
They grinned at each other, accepting the problem as a challenge and vowing to reach the top together. It proved even more difficult than they'd thought-- Christine was fast but she kept slipping back on the grass while Raoul lagged behind carrying their sandwich basket and complaining about the lack of a spring breeze. They weren’t the only ones in the countryside that day, either. A rather large family, consisting of a mother, a father, and their seven or eight children were there also; the children of the parents tried their hand at climbing the hill, but stopped when their mother scolded them about staining their clothes from tumbling on the ground. Raoul and Christine exchanged happy glances at the sight.
In time they reached the peak of the hill, where they could see the family spreading out a big blanket to sit on while they ate. They could see the children scarfing down their food and running in circles on the blanket, and getting smatterings of kisses from their mother and father. Christine rested her head on Raoul’s shoulder as they watched. “Do you think that could be us one day?” She asked. Raoul kissed her forehead. “Yes. With any luck, it will be.”
Their food was forgotten in the basket, but they enjoyed their picnic thinking about the future.

POTO Fluff Week 2022 Day 4: Christmas in July
Raoul and Christine rarely went shopping together, because they were always busy with their work. In fact, they rarely went shopping at all because they were so busy. Christine marveled at how many people Raoul had to do things like that for him-- a Vicomte or a Vicomtess didn't have to do their own shopping. But she still enjoyed looking in the window displays from time to time. And that day she just couldn't resist buying those gold cufflinks for Raoul. She didn't think he had a pair quite like them, and thought they would go nicely with his dress suit.
She knew it was a little gift, and that it was the middle of summer, but she couldn't help feeling like she'd just bought a Christmas present instead as she walked out of the store with the little black box in hand. She hid it in her closet until Raoul came home and was relaxed on the sofa with a book.
“Raoul…I have something for you,” she said, taking a seat next to him and holding the box behind her back.
“Oh? Is there any specific occasion?” He asked, putting the book down beside him and smiling warmly at her. Christine shook her head. “I just thought you would like it.”
“I'm sure you're right,” he assured her. She was only a little nervous as she gave him the box and watched his eyes while he opened it.
“Oh, they're wonderful, Christine! Thank you. I don't have a pair that look like these.” He gave her a kiss and held one of the cufflinks up to the light, where its intricate swirling design danced. “I wish I had something to give you…wait, I just might,” he blurted, and before Christine could say another word he'd dashed up from the sofa. She could feel her heart speeding up in her chest second by second. What could he possibly have in store for her? Something exciting, by the way he'd sprung up. She had complete confidence that whatever it was, it would be amazing. Just like him.
And then he was back, a small box of his own in his hands. It looked surprisingly similar to the one she had given him: velvet and square, but hers had been black and this one was a deep burgundy. She took it gingerly, itching to discover what was inside but at the same time wanting to savor a moment like this.
When she opened the box, she couldn't believe her eyes. An engagement ring-- the same as the one he'd picked out for her in the winter and given to her just days before they had attended the managers’ New Year’s party.
“I still want to spend the rest of my life by your side, Christine. Everything I said in December…it rings true now more than ever. So I’d be honored if we could become engaged again-- if you want to, of course--”
Christine instantly placed the ring on her finger and hugged him. “Yes! Yes. Forever yes,” she cried into his shoulder.
It was like Christmastime all over again, except this time it was the middle of summer and Christine could tell the whole world she was engaged to be married.
