Hello everyone!

You might remember this blog as being run by Ellie. They are still here, but things have changed as in the blog is run by two people now (the other one being me, hi, I‘m Arlo!)

We have decided that at the end of season 7 we want to start a Rick and Morty podcast. We know there already is one, and it‘s great - we‘re just two nerds wanting to yell about our favorite show. We want to incorporate character analysis, queer and neurodiverse themes in Rick and Morty and many more topics that we think aren‘t talked enough about when it comes to the show. We are both very passionate to say the least, so it will be great!

The reason we‘re waiting until the end of the season is because we‘re adding a little spin: we will be rewatching and talking about the show backwards, starting with the season 7 finale and ending with the Pilot.

We hope a lot of you will tune in and we‘ll keep you updated :)

In all seriousness, the latest Rick and Morty episode was fucking amazing. It was a social commentary about each person's narcissistic tendencies. The desire to love yourself but also the human attribute of being incapable of it. The need to be the center of attention while simultaneously understanding that not everything is about you. Moreover, it showed that even children, and maybe even especially children, preserve themselves through dissociating.

However, the sight of beth fucking herself was too much for me and I will be using a fiery metal stick to cleanse my eyes of it. Anyways,

Rereading this comic storyline, and god I love the dialogue (Doofus Rick is best boy, he's so supportive and kind!!! 😭💙💙)

firmly believe that the best conclusion to jerry's character arc would be him deciding to embrace being a stay-at-home dad.

what i rlly liked about the early seasons is when someone was actually smarter than rick emotionally it pissed him off, like he felt like he was being talked down to, rick is smart in the way a computer is smart but he lacks (or forced himself to lack) the components of emotional strength, he thinks like a machine and then gets annoyed when ppl point this out to him bc for as smart as he is, creating universes, cures to death, zero gravitational shoes, pills that regrow limbs etc etc etc he doesn’t know how to be a good person, and that’s something that’s better than a “smart” person any day, and that’s why he’s so cruel to morty, morty isn’t smart but he is good, and whenever morty is rewarded for being good and doing the right thing and having emotional connections with others rick tries to tear it down in some way to “put him in his place” bc to rick that’s just insulting his intelligence

I love how dramatic rick is in this scene.

I stopped watching because i thought the show got kinda lame. Should i continue? thoughts?
