1) How many works do you have on AO3?

Only three – most of my ff is in Finnish and online elsewhere

I have only Bleach fic in AO3, but I've also written Black Lagoon, Daria, Doctor Who, Dragonlance, House M.D., Raid (a Finnish crime drama/thriller), Sanctuary, Supernatural and Stargate Atlantis

All Her Parts (13 kudos at the moment), Kim’s game (6) and At one evening in a convenience store (4)

Interestingly, the 5/10 chapters of All Her Parts has also more hits than the 19 chapters of Kim’s game. Maybe the title of Kim’s game was unfortunate - It isn’t an OC story, the name refers to the memory game played in Kipling’s novel Kim)

5) Do you respond to comments?

Yes! They are few and far between, but I love them and I love responding.

6) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I have quite a few angsty or unhappy endings in my stories but perhaps Salakatselijan päiväkirja (Diary of a Stalker, the content only in Finnish) or Etsin vain ehdotonta rakkautta (I was only searching for unconditional love, also the content only in Finnish) might be at a tie.

Diary of a Stalker is a Bleach AU where Bya mourns for Hisana and kinda starts to stalk Rukia, who he doesn’t know is Hisana’s sister. I was only searching for unconditional love is a House M.D. fic of Cuddy and Rachel and their mother-daughter relationship.

7) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Uuf do I have happy endings…? I have plenty non-sad or ambiguous endings but I guess not that many I’d call happy. Kim’s game actually ranks high in here imo?

8) Do you get hate on fics?

I’ve never gotten any hate comments for some reason.

9) Do you write smut?

No. Tried it once, didn’t like it. I rarely write sex in general, and when I do, it tends to be strictly non-explicit.

Nothing wrong with smut, it just isn’t my thing to read or write. Unless things get weird enough, then I’m happy to read. With enough weird in the mix, it stops being about sex even when genitalia is at use. Then I'm on board again.

10) Do you write crossovers?

Not really. I find that it’s rare that different pieces fit together in a way I find satisfying. The one and only x-over I’ve written is a DW+Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy humor piece.

Only if you count me doing translation/rewrite of my own fic

13) Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No. But I’d like to – there is sooo much great ideas and such with powerful scenes and fun plots. I’d love to be the person who adds description of various shit without having to deal with characterization and whatnot. But with this role and me not operating in my native language it has an extra layer of working not great.

14) What's your all-time favorite ship?

My OPT of all-time is Raistlin+Dalamar, where I’m using the + to indicate it’s not romantic or sexual but not platonic in “just friends” or "practically family" way.

15) What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?

Almost all I seriously plan to finish, but I’m going to pick the story with a working title of Ihmeiden kaupunki (City of Wonder). It's a Sanctuary fic where a bunch of women, Helen and Ashley among them, are sent to another planet to spread human life to space. It’s supposed to be women only (resource use & lack of artificial wombs) but Nikola uses his connections and gets in.

16) What are your writing strengths?

Persistence. If I see enough reason to write something, and if I judge that I want to write it, then I’ll fucking write it. It may take a long time, but I’ll write it.

I’d like to think that I’m good at writing description but that’s for my readers to judge.

17) What are your writing weaknesses?

The snail speed I proceed, lol.

I’m actually not good at making plot. It’s difficult for me to plan the scenes and decide what’s going to happen next, and what kind of feeling the scenes should carry.

18) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?

I avoid it. If the reader should understand the dialogue, then it must be “translated” to the reader for them to do so.

If the reader isn’t supposed to understand it, why bother to write lines that won’t make any sense to the reader? Then what it the reader understands it, is it going to spoil something, or does the reader find themselves reading something utterly irrelevant?

I can imagine there are some tricks that can be done with this but it’s a niche use.

20) Favorite fic you've ever written?

An unfinished The Walking Dead piece with a working title tkei. The title is probably an abbreviation of something but I can’t remember what. But the writing! I love the way I was able to write it! When I read it, I’m making myself happy and immersed in the story instead of wanting to alter phrasing here and there.

It’s an AU where the zombies never came and no found families form. After Rick wakes up from the come and find Lori and Shane banging, he is forced to move to Daryl’s place (Merle is in prison, Daryl can’t pay the bills to keep the lights on, and Rick can’t afford to rent). Everyone is deeply unhappy and lonely.

Dragonlance week #6 - changes

I'm late, I'm late! But here some mild Raistlin x Dalamar, because they were one of my first ships.

With his conflicting emotions, Dalamar found himself staring at his master. The subtle movements of his fingers, his self-assured usage of magic. Damnation. He hated himself for lacking concentration and focusing on Raistlin instead of learning the spell.

“Come here, dark-elf.”

Dalamar gulped and quickly hid beneath the hem of his hood. “Of course.”

“Closer.”

Did Raistlin smile? No, he must’ve imagined it. His master seldom showed emotions besides cruelty and sarcasm.

Raistlin’s skin smelled like herbs and ointments though. Dalamar felt heat beneath those black robes and hoped that his body wouldn’t betray him. He needed to get his minds of such things, of his master. Maybe he’d be allowed to visit a town, preferable one large enough to offer the services of a brothel. Just to clear his mind. Hire some slender, young guy and be done with it.

“I need the diamond dust.”

Dalamar handed it to him and cursed himself for letting his mind wander.

In comparison, Raistlin didn’t move a single muscle and watched the ingredients and spell sheet in front of him. “The brimstone and a dash of ash.”

“This isn’t brimstone.” His master turned around to watch Dalamar.

“Ah… I….”

His eyes appeared bright and clear. “Dalamar, you need to focus.”

“I know.”

“Then focus.”

Nodding, he stood a bit straighter.

Focus!

The incantation seemed to be in draconic, an old and strange language, which had returned to Krynn a few years ago. Dalamar though himself capable of understanding the most of it, but faced troubles with the barbaric sounding syllables and watched his master’s mouth forming each word with precision.

Suddenly Raistlin’s body shook. At first it sounded an awful lot like coughing but after a few seconds it turned into laughter.

Actual laughter.

“Master?”

“I’m sorry, my apprentice, but …” Another fit of laughter. “You can’t hide your secrets. All of them are clearly written on your face.”

“You want this?” Raistlin laughed even louder. “This broken body? This remains of someone that once was a mere human? This tainted flesh.”

His golden eyes sparked with mirth.

“Dalamar, you’re even more stupid than I’d thought.”

Anger cursed through his veins and Dalamar took a step closer and grabbed Raistlin’s wrist. “I’m not stupid for wanting… this.”

He forced his body close to the other man and his words sounded like a whisper. “Foolish, yes, but not stupid.”

“That is debatable.” Raistlin smiled.

Dalamar forfeit his life, leaned in, and kissed him then. His life was already over, his mark on the world nothing more than a faint echo. But he wouldn’t go without giving in just for once. Consequences be damned.

But instead of killing him, Raistlin moved to free his wrist and grabbed Dalamar by the robes. He pressed his mouth against his and well, his master wasn’t a particularly skilled kisser, but didn’t lack the passion when he pushed him against a cabinet.

Where did he find the sudden strength?

Raistlin's lips tasted like wine and a sweet afterthought and they kissed until both needed to break apart to breathe again. Dalamar didn't dare to open his eyes, because flushed, golden skin would look far too desirable and inviting.

Dalamar opened his mouth to say something meaningful, maybe something to explain himself. “Not in front of the brimstone.”

Well, that wasn't meaningful.

Raistlin took Dalamar’s hand, but wouldn’t meet his eyes, as if afraid of breaking the spell between the two of them.

“Yes. Yes, come with me.”

Raistlin x Dalamar (slightly)

Dalamar watched the sun set. Red and orange, blue and a hint of the nearing dark crawling through the clouds. The tower seemed almost peaceful. Almost. Its master cowered above some tomes, seemingly lost in thought, but muttering to himself every now and then. Most of the time, Raistlin prefered solitude and silence. He’d offered no explanation for staying with his apprentice, nor did Dalamar ask for one.

He  should’ve been studying his own notes, but found his concentration to be lacking. He wasn’t bored. No. Or maybe a bit. Being raised and born as an elf, cursed him with a longing for open spaces and nature. So far, he’d successfully suppressed such desires to concentrate on his learning and ambition.

But time flowed slowly in here. He touched his robe as if trying to discern, if the marks still bled. They did. Would always do. Wounds of a traitor and a spy. He wore them with a sense of pride now, though, he couldn’t pinpoint the moment in which his attitude had changed. They were still ugly and disfiguring and crippling his self esteem. And at times, he dreamed of Raistlin pressing his hand against his chest, fingertips clawing at tender flesh, breathing uneven and golden eyes lit up by madness and passion.

Dalamar ignored those and the implications they held.  

“Finished with staring at the sky? It’ll still be there in the morning.” Raistlin seldom raised his voice above a whisper and still Dalamar understood every word perfectly.

“I firmly believe that my books and journals will be here by tomorrow, too. And the sky offers a phenomenal view at this very moment.”

Raistlin smiled thinly. “So should your own writing.”

Light danced on Raistlin’s skin and Dalamar found himself unable to look away. The metallic hue of gold looked like a setting sun. His sharp jaw and cheekbones matched those of his half sister. Sometimes they even shared the same sardonic glint in their eyes and a lazy smile hiding their true temperaments.

Dalamar hadn’t observed those similarities before and wondered how he could’ve been so blind. Such details would be a later source for long musings, alongside his dreams.  

“So, am I your next object of interest?” Dalamar noted the surprisingly teasing tone in his master’s voice. How very unlike him. Maybe he’d already drank too much wine, or longed to hear another voice besides his own.. Spending all that time in his own chambers also seemed to cause loneliness and even someone like Raistlin craved interactions on a regular basis.  

“I’m your eager student. Of course, I’m watching you, learning from your behaviour and your very presence.”

Raistlin turned away. “Hm.” Another one of those rare smiles. “Be glad that I’m no naive tavern wench, or I’d be blushing, dark one.”

Definitely too much wine. Dalamar coughed and the marks on his chest seemed to burn. Surely a mere trick of his mind. “No offense, shalafi, but no one would ever mistake you for a tavern wench. You’re lacking some of the most obvious and important parts.”

“Well, I can’t argue with your logic.” Raistlin flipped a page in his book. “Though, I’d rather have you spend more time with your spells than with watching me.”

Dalamar nodded, knowing that he would dream of the sun.
