I can't even make fun of Claire's situation in QC at the moment this has happened to multiple people I know. Heck, it happened to me too, the hardware engineering department at my old job was basically just me.
i’m honestly lowkey fascinated by Questionable Content’s long, slow evolution from “modern day slice of life but there’s sentient computers for humor reasons” to “near-future science fiction but it’s still slice of life”
If you’ve been keeping up with QC, I want your thoughts on its future. It almost seems like they’re gearing up for, at the very least, a long-form arc without most of the main cast.
I'm not really "keeping up" with QC, but while Martin was once the protagonist, he hasn't been interesting or relevant in years so writing him out of the cast isn't really a big shake-up. And it's not like it's unheard of for tertiary QC characters to eventually disappear off the face of the earth. I remember when Raven was part of the main four. Martin should consider himself lucky that he’s actually getting written out instead of just disappearing.
I'm ngl I think Questionable Content has once again taken the top slot in the web comics I read. Not because it's particularly plot heavy or dramatic, but because the creator has slowly put every single character into a queer relationship of some sort. The one straight guy, who has always sorta been the main character, is dating a trans woman. And like. It's really nicely handled? And sweet? And it's nice to read about queer people discovering themselves and being happy.
Also like? Fucking Pintsize is getting genuine character development and goals and fears outside of being a funky jokey boy? It's really great? He's genuinely starting to get super interesting?
With HOW TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD (my new book of nonfiction, detailing how you could pull off comic book schemes like digging to the Earth’s core to hold it hostage here in reality) coming out real soon, the insanely talented @jephjacques asked me what supervillain scheme he’d be best suited for. I was more than happy to oblige him... in VIDEO FORM.
