Just need to figuer something out.
Death 1 was at the Running of the Bulls. He most likely hasn't met Kitty in that death. He died flirting so yes, they hadn't met. He may be a ladies man but I'm sure his mama taught him how to respect a woman he's in a relationship with.
Tumblr media
Death 2 was a poker game. Which is my favorite because he looks aesthetically pleasing to me.
Tumblr media
Death 3, drunk and falls off a tower.
Tumblr media
Death 4, buff Puss dies from weights.
Tumblr media
Death 5, canon incident. We know he's met Kitty at this point and they're most likely still a couple. Considering there didn't seem to be any bad blood between them.
Tumblr media
Death 6, shellfish.
And then 7, fire when baking with Gingy. At this point, we know he left Kitty at the alter and met Shrek.
Tumblr media
8th is bell.
Tumblr media
Ok! So we have a good hint of the timeline!!!
Puss grew up in an orphanage and meets Humpty. He gets mistaken for a their and is ram out of town.
Puss in Boots goes to this town and has his adventures. Hence the show.
Then he meets Kitty and reunites with Humpty, 1st movie. He's on life #2 here.
Then he meets the Tres Diablos. I'm assuming he was on life #2 or #3 at this point.
Then the Trident. Life #5 Assuming Kitty and Puss are together in this, this also means that he and Kitty were a couple when Puss jumped off a tower drunk. I'm sure Kitty didn't let him live that down. And this is a cursed thought. This also means they were a couple when Puss looked like this, life #4.
Tumblr media
I hope to God no but at the same time yes because he was probably tired of Kitty always beating him in every sword fight. 🤣
And now it's safe to assume he's on his 6th life when he leaves the wedding. I love this theory where when he runs away from the wedding, he hops on a boat and goes to Far Far Away on that same day. And considering he's a thief, I don't think he would have enough money to eat at a fancy restaurant. So he most likely lost his 6th life when he ate shellfish at the castle. Which I love because I can just imagine Shrek and Fiona watching their friend die at the dinner table. They panic for a moment only for him to come back to life. 😂
And then of course, his 7th life when he's baking with Gingy.
8th life, he decides to go back to his adventuring and visits Spain again. He dies from a bell.
9th and final life, The Last Wish. He goes back to see his friend's and of course, he'll introduce his wife and best friend to them.
BOOM!!!!
Time line down!!!!

Hey so i was wondering if you could do a p2 to the kung fu panda au? Maybe with the second movie as the main recolved arc? If not thats fine i just really liked it lol ^^
Puss in Boots x Kung Fu Panda AU Part 2
Tumblr media
Death x Reader
A/N: Howdy anon! I had to brush up on KFP2 for this one, but I'm glad to continue this little AU! Though I did explore Death's relationship with the reader in the original post, I mainly did that with anticipating a part two. So for the sake of having a nice narrative, at the start of this little post, the reader and Death are just acquaintances. Thank you for sending in this request!
Tumblr media
You are living your best life as the Dragon Warrior. You're defending the valley, have five awesome new best friends, have one very cool kung fu master as your teacher (who was going to teach you all about inner peace!), and also your parent is still running the best noodle shop in the valley.
Also there's that one wolf guy: Death.
Sometimes he shows up when you're defending the valley, sometimes he doesn't. But whenever you see him, you're both glad to see each other. At least, you think he's glad to see you. Kind of hard to tell since you usually see him wearing his hood.
When you and the Five are sent to stop a gang of bandits, you're reminded that not all wolves are nice.
And you have a flashback of another panda, just like you.
Death appears (again). Normally, you'd be startled by his presence, but you're still reeling from the memory. He's Death, but he can't read minds, so you brush him off and gather the gang to head back home.
Sidenote: Yes, Death was there when your biological parent died. Yes, he could (and would) tell you more about them if you asked. But he hasn't put together the dots that you're remembering your past.
You ask your parent about your past, and now you're a bit shaken, having learned you're adopted and still having questions your parent can't give you answers to, but WHOOPSIES time for a quest.
(*Shrek the Musical Fiona voice*: Skip ahead, skip ahead, skip ahead-)
When you're out sitting on the boat to Gongmen City, you hear familiar whistling. It's Death. Initially, you freak out because now you're wondering if someone is going to die. But he clarifies that no one is dying. Yet. He confesses that he's been breaking a few rules recently, but he wants to check on you because you seem...troubled.
You talk about your nightmare.
For a minute, you're worried you've wasted his time. He's frowning and looking ahead on the river, thoughtful. "Sorry, that was a lot. I should let you get back to work doing your whole Death thing. I just...I don't really know where I belong. And it's not a great feeling. What did I do...for my parents to leave me?"
And the wolf stands up and shakes his head, quietly swearing under his breath. The things he does for love. "Mind if I tell you something?" You nod, curious. "I was there. When your parent left you in that crate." "Oh. Wait...does that mean..." "That doesn't matter right now." "Of course it matters! They could be-"' He grabs your shoulder. "Listen. They loved you very much. Both of your parents. They did what they needed to out of their love for you." "But why? And what happened to them?"
He is conveniently interrupted by the sight of Gongmen City and the Five waking up from sleep. He vanishes into the night.
You and the Five sneak into the city and see all the wolves. You're getting really sick of these guys. You try to get Rhino and Croc out, they can't leave because of the weapon, you run into the wolf boss again and you're all caught.
(Why can't these guys be more like Death? you think to yourself as you're climbing the many....many stairs in Shen's palace.)
And speak of the devil, you spot him in the shadows when you meet Shen for the first time. He looks more that displeased, paws firmly gripping his sickle handles. But he can't interfere in anything can he? Not after doing so much for you recently. You can't help but wonder if you're going to die right then and there in front of the canon. But Mantis saves you all and there goes the canon. Boom!
You try to get to Shen but you have another flashback. Shen escapes, and Death interferes again to get you and the Five out of the tower. You guys were having too many near death experiences for his taste. You all regroup together.
Once again, you are having an identity crisis, and Tigris tells you to stay behind, telling Death to keep an eye on you to make sure you don't do anything that'll get you killed.
Luckily for you, that's not in his job description.
"I don't take orders from anyone. Especially mortals." he sighs. The wolf nudges you with a wink. "Alright then, Dragon Warrior. Go. I won't tell."
Honestly, I think if I were going to give Death an arc this 'x reader' ver of KFP2, it would be the conflict between his duty to let the everything pan out and not interfere before he needs to take souls to the spirit world, and his own desire to engage in mortal life (ie. protect you) and talk to them and learn more about them (ie. you). He's already interfered so many times, and he can tell the cosmic balance was getting a little bit out of sorts. But...
Death decides to stay back during the fight, lurking in the shadows and doing his job properly. But he is shocked when Shen tells you that your parents didn't love you. And he loses it when you nearly die again to Shen.
He carries you out of the river and looks around desperately for help. He's Death. Death can't be afraid of anything or of anyone. Death shouldn't feel fear. But right now...he's terrified. He knows everyone dies at some point. It was inevitable. But was uncertain was whether or not him being there could actually lead to your death. If you died, would it have been because he interfered and got too close?
He follows the river away from Shen and the Five, and he makes it to the Soothsayer. The Soothsayer is vaguely aware that Death is someone from beyond the mortal world, but he rests you at her feet and tells her to help you.
When you recover, it takes both of them talking to you in order for you to recover your memories and achieve inner peace. When the Soothsayer tells you that your present actions define who you are, something resonates with Death.
He joins you, the Five, and the Masters in the final fight in Gongmen. Cosmic law be damned, Death says no to weapons of mass destruction. He's going to let his actions define him and how he approaches his relationships.
Yeah, no. Seeing you make the water droplet technique your own made him fall even harder for you.
And once again, I have a link to swanpit's art because 1. This art is hilarious and beautiful and 2. I think seeing Shen and Death interact like this would be lovely and fits this fic.
But yes. Our Dragon Warrior achieves inner peace and Death is becoming more and more of his own person aside from literally being Death.
Tumblr media
Also: on the trip back to the valley, Death tags along. And he may or may not try to indirectly ask you out to dinner. You say "Sure! Let's head to my parent's place!" and his tail is thumping on the boat's deck, causing it to tip a little. Needless to say, he's excited.
Changing timeline things from the first post so that they now occur after KFP2:
At this point, he starts showing up more frequently, during and outside of battles, and he seems more relaxed around you. And you come to learn that his presence doesn't always mean someone's going to die. He just wants to visit. (And after so long observing how people live and die, he has a chance to try living for himself.)
He starts dragging you away from training to get a meal together in town or to go on a nice walk in the mountains.
When Shifu complains, Death shrugs. "Alright then." He draws his weapons, snapping the sickles together and forming his staff. "Let's continue the Dragon Warrior's training then."
Plenty of sparring practice and playful banter between the two of you. It's so much fun for the both of you, and you start tag-teaming during battles. He joins you and the Five in your fights, always sure to use just a fraction of his strength as to not kill everyone in his path. But he reaps souls if need be.
And after all of this, in a shocking turn of events, you are the one to confess your love to Death.
And after all of this, he can confidently reciprocate that love.

English:
Hello everyone, Shrek's family here, with Fiona, her children, a puppy and her mother-in-law, the former queen.
I have in my mind an animated series sequel to all the saga, in the style of the simpsons with the hobbit, in this story almost 12 years have passed since the fourth part, and the second movie of puss in boots, the family lives in the swamp, Where Shrek founded a spa out of swampy mud, Fiona is a housewife and a book club. As for her children, they always do adventures and mischief with the other children who live far or near the swamp, the former queen lilliam moved in with her daughter, where she helps with the chores and gives advice to her grandchildren, a puppy on the other hand is the pet and the triplets' best friend.

Could any of the Dreamworks Animation films that I’ve seen work as a live action film?
In light of the news of How to train your Dragon getting a live action remake, I decided to do this list for fun. Keep in mind that these are the films that I HAVE seen from start to finish, in case your favorite is not on here. (Madagascar and Trolls are such examples of not being on the list).
Prince of Egypt-Absolutely yes. As long as you cast the right ethnicities for the roles (who are also good singers if you want to take the musical approach), and hire a crew that is good at doing their research, then yes this could work.
Road to El Dorado–Also yes for the same reasons as Prince of Egypt.
Spirit–The best thing about this is that you could use real horses and not rely on CGI for this one. Though some people (and we know who they are) would be ticked off because ‘oh the Americans are the bad guys.’
Chicken Run–Nah, I’d leave this alone. It’d be interesting as a stage play, but I don’t think a live action film would work. Plus I feel that would make a lot of the darker elements even worse. Alternatively, you could screw this up by having it be human focused and have OCs be the ones to save the chickens like in Dumbo, and no one wants that.
Shrek (any of the films)–Eh…. If they did 80’s style practical effects and saved the CGI for specific things, it could work. Otherwise half the characters would be in CGI as well as almost the entire scenery if you went with the lazy route, in which case it won’t work. Also, given how things have changed, someone would have Lord Farquaad be played by a regular sized man, which would not be taken well by some fans. If they mess with Fiona’s character, it wouldn’t be well received either.
Puss in Boots–same as Shrek. If they go with the CGI route for the entire cast, it won’t work, unless you go with a theater approach (which would be the better choice).
Kung Fu Panda (any of them)–Absolutely not. They’d go with the CGI route for this one and it’d be crap. Also my understanding is that Chinese audiences love the Kung Fu Panda films and I don’t think you’d want to anger them if you were trying to appeal to them for money like with the live action Mulan. The ONLY way you could do this is to have the actors in costumes (not cheesy costumes, but good costumes that incorporate the animal elements as well as Chinese culture) and take nods to Eastern theater/cinema for this to work. Knowing Hollywood, it’s doubtful the second option would come into play.
Monsters vs Aliens–It’d be neat to see this with cheesy old school effects, but I can’t see this being a live action film given how the original didn’t do well enough with most people.
How to train your Dragon (what started this whole thing)–A puppet version of Toothless would be cool. However we all know the dragons are most likely going to be CGI, so… yeah, this might not be well liked.
Megamind–given how popular Marvel is, they could pull this off (but probably try to have Megmind be in disguise for longer chunks of the film to avoid having the actor be in make up so much). Though expect certain people to throw a fit because the whole thing with Hal being more than just a creep towards Roxane is STILL relevant in this day and age.
Rise of the Guardians–Same with Shrek. In the right hands the costumes and make up would be amazing. But they’d likely go for CGI for Bunnymund and the fairies, as well as most of the scenery, in which case it might not work.
Mr. Peabody and Sherman–Could you learn from the mistakes the first live action Sonic film almost made? It all depends on how Mr. Peabody is done, but either way I don’t think this adaption could work. Then again a lot of those ‘Rocky and Bullwinkle and friends’ cartoons have had several live action films, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this film also got that treatment.
Home–Nah. I know what route they’d take with this film (given that most of the cast are aliens, and they wouldn’t use a live action cat for Pig, not to mention all the alien stuff), so no.
Boss Baby–OH HELL NO! NO! NO! NO! Not only is this a terrible idea, but it’s already been proven that CGI babies are terrible. You know damn well they’ll go with the CGI baby route if they do this. I don’t want to see a CGI baby in live action talk with an adult’s voice. We will have entered an apocalypse if this ever happens.
Captain Underpants–Honestly I’d be curious to see this and I think it could be pulled off. The catch is that there’s some things that’d have to be CGI (unless you keep the books’ more creative approaches to certain scenes and moments), you’d have the same Farquaad issue and have to have a regular sized person play the bad guy, you’d need to find the right crew who wouldn’t treat the story or characters as complete jokes, and you’d need to find a pretty well rounded actor who shares physical similarities to CU/Krupp, has enough energy to play both roles, and is willing to… well, you know… be running around in his underwear for all to see.
The Bad Guys–this would be hard to do if you made the wrong creative choices. You could do the Sonic approach with the main characters, but if you just made them all humans with animal characteristics/are just regular humans with code names then its probably not going to work (I mean, that’s interesting, but not everyone would be all for that). Also, I don’t know if just having the actors in make up and costume would work.

you are bing forced to listen to my rambles. and it all has horrible grammar.
WHO IS YOU R FAVOURITE FEARLESS HEEROOO WHO IS YOURU FAKVPURITE FEWRNLLESS HEHEEEROOO 🕺🕺🕺
Puss being arrogant and bragging about laughing in the face of death and the personification of death literally HUNTS HIM DOWN because he hates how this little ginger cat thinks he’s unkillable (when he’s literally died 8 times)
“who’s never been touched by a blade” but died 8 times?? you lmfao
“idk,, i’m not really a math guy” me fr
“puss in boots is never afraid!” “you are you are” foreshadowin g. stares
Puss has carried the guilt of leaving Kitty at the altar for HOW LONG??? i know the first PiB took place before shrek,, but the second one is AFTER ALL FOUR. SO LIKE. he left her before the second shrek movie?? that would make it.. three years or so?? because the fourth shrek movie is when shrek and fiona’s kids are one year old? lets say two years
of fuckingg course he was lonely on his journeys. but never really thought abt how miserable he was until the encounter with his past lives in the “cave of lost souls”
yeah hes arrogant and prideful as shit in the beginning of the movie but like. literally being hunted by death itself can humble you super fast
the. fuckin g. stars in kitty and puss’ eyes when they look at each other in some scenes. its so cheesy and cute but i love it

100x better than avatar way of the water deadass i saw that movie and it sucked lmfaoo
silly cats inn love and they have a therapy dog they adopted into their silly little family /pos
perrito fulfilling his dream of being a therapy dog ,,,
kitty softpaws just existing shes so cool
throws. my silly headcanons in your face
when Kitty and Puss get married fr, Perrito is Puss’ best man and Fiona is Kitty’s maid of honor
Perrito has nightmares abt his childhood and Puss sings to him after to help him calm down, just like how he helped Puss with his panic attack in the dark forest (starts fucking sobbing)
head bonks. puss and perrito. they are besties ur honor
when his time is actually up, a good chunk of time has passed. before this he’s been able to visit all his friends again, including the woman who took him in when he was an orphan (and he cries :(()
addin g to the last one, Death gives him enough time to say goodbye to Kitty and Perrito (if they’re nearby) and his last life is given up without hesitation, even though he feels a little fear in his heart. “will they be okay?”
i might add more so keep an eye out 🤺🤺

Ranking the Shrek/Puss In Boots movie villains
Those who know me know I love vilains ,and I was interested to see how the Shrek /Puss in Boots villains stack up .
Ones I am not including are Goldilocks and the Three Bear Crime Family cause in my mind they arent villains at all ,they are antagonists but they arent evil at all ,nor am I including the Poison Apple crew ,simply cause they are more henchmen then full on villains (If I do my favorite Shrek side characters ,Captain Hook will definately be on the list though )
First off I dont dislike any of these villains, they all have their moments ,but I am ranking these from least favorite to favorite
Also spoilers
8. Jack and Jill-Puss In Boots (2011)
I love the concept,I have a thing for outlaw couples,Billy Bob Thornton and Amy Sedaris give enjoyable performances (ESpecially Sedaris ) and they have a cute running joke with Jack wanting to settle down and have a baby while Jill is all for continuing in crime . However while they are set up as the main villains ,they kind of take a back seat to Humpty Dumpty ,and frankly they are a touch generic compared to other Shrek villains

7.Humpty Dumpty -Puss In Boots (2011)
OK Humpty very much conflicts me because on papaer he is one of the most interesting Shrek villain ,basically being not only Puss's best friend but his brother ,but went down a far darker path.He feels like an outcast ,and resents Puss for finding his place as well as ,for in his eyes abandoning him, when in actuailaity it was a situation he caused and the only main villain to realize his own mistakes. He should be high up right?.....WEll the problem is while he is well written,I think Zach Galifanakis is SO miscast and I dont care for his performance .Also frankly....I HATE his design ,I'm sorry he is really unpleasent to look at ,he is very unsettling,
Tumblr media
6.Prince Charming from Shrek 2 (2004) and Shrek the Third (2007)
PRince Charming is the only villain to be in multiple films ,and he frustrates me .....BEcause I cant put him higher.I love his concept, he is a vain Prince who feels he is owed his happilly ever after ,and in the third film he leads an army of villains to get that.I love Rupert Everetts performance who balances the dashing prince and petulent villain sides well.....My problem is ....He doesnt feel like a threat .See in Shrek 2 ,he is the secondary villain ,as his mother the Fairy Godmother is the main villain ,and when he comes back in Shrek 3, he has been so humiliated and hit rock bottom ,I kind of feel too sorry for him and dont see him as an intimidating bad guy . I
Tumblr media
5..Rumplestiltskin- Shrek Forever After (2010)
I debated putting him higher, cause he is effective .A wicked deal maker who resents Shrek for saving Fiona before he could trick her parents into signing a deal with him .He's kind of fun and sinister ,and I am kind of fond of Walt Fohrns very odd line delivery ,his high voice is kind of afun mix of silly and kind of creepy .He isnt higher cause well he feels too similar to both the Fairy Godmother and Lord Farquaad ,just a bit sleazier .I think he is fun but not top tier
Tumblr media
4.Lord Farquaad from Shrek (2001)
Farquaad is the first villain of the Shrek series ,and probabbly the most passive villain,he isnt as active as the other villains, but he plays well for the themes of the film. He is a guy obsessed with perfection and looks down on those who he sees as not fitting his idea of perfection, namely Fairy tale creatures .....Basically this guy isnt far diffrent then real powerful bigots. He is also highly entertaining with some great lines and is played wonderfully to hammy perfection by John Lithgow and I do think he has a great design. My biggest issue with him is the short jokes at his expense are kind of terrible and I dont think he is as interesting as the top 3 villains
Tumblr media
3.The Fairy Godmother from Shrek 2 (2004 )
The person who makes happily ever aters happen and decides who they happen too .Pissed off that her machinations to have Fiona marry her son, Charming ,went wrong ,she seeks to find a way to get rid of Shrek .She is so wonderfully manipulative,Jennifer Saunders gives such a marvelous performance, she hilarious while also being intimidating.....Plus she gets one hell of a villain song with her cover of Holding out for a Hero
Tumblr media
2.Big Jack Horner -Puss In Boots The Last Wish (2022)
Big Jack Horner is a crime kingpin/Pie magnet who seeks to find the wishing star to gain access to all the magic in the world .....Jack Horner might be the most unappologetically evil person in the Shrek universe.Where other villains at least try to pretend to have redeeming qualities ,Jack Horner is a vile monster ,who doesnt care who he has to kill to get what he wants, and he knows,he re4vels in how vile he is ....And it makes him so funny .I adore John Mulaneys performance, for years I have thought he would play a really good villain, and I was proven right .His designb is great too cause he has this intimaidaing hulking body and stuture but topped with this baby face and pink hair , I adore it . I also like that while the film full of characters who grow and change ,Horner is the one character who refuses to ,he litterally rejects the idea of a concience in the form of the Ethical Bug .He is a hilarious cartoony villain who was close to getting the top spot
Tumblr media
1.Death -Puss In Boots the Last Wish (2022)
I struggled for a while over who would be number one between Death and Big Jack....But DEath wins.....Because he is the most personal and frightening villain in the Shrek verse to one of the main characters , because he is the embodiment of Puss's fears. He is the opponent Puss cant beat ,and the oppoenent every one must meet .I have hears some say he isnt a villlain....No ,he is.He isnt doing his job ,he isnt trying to teach Puss.....He WANTS to kill him,and is enjoying the chase .Its personal with Death ,Puss has mocked him and not valued life and he wants to SAVOR killing Puss .This might be the best example I have seen of Death as an advesaroy .He is designed beautifully,a red eyed wolf ,with the forma of a raven on his face ,weilding sickle and wearing a black hood, with WAgnar Moura giving a chilling performance .I also love his whistle which creeped me out everytime he showed up. He stands out among the Shrek villains, cause he is the most serious and by far the scariest .I condsidered leaving him off....But the truth is he is my favorite villain in the Shrek/Puss In Boots series
Tumblr media
Well thats my list ,who is your favorite

For meg!
Thank you for participating! 💖
Answered for Shrek-verse Meg:
10. how do the other characters feel about your self insert and f/o’s relationship?
When finding out a barmaid and Death himself are in a romantic relationship it’s not a surprise it’s hard to believe. Even in a world where an ogre married a princess, and a donkey and a dragon had mutant babies…this was so hard to wrap your head around even after seeing it with your own eyes.
Puss in Boots, who had come to a peaceful truce with Death, was shocked and a bit worried for the woman he met on the journey he made that peace on, but seeing how she and the wolf bantered and looked at each other when they thought no one witnessed it, his concerns fell.
Kitty Softpaws, who had a more neutral and even respectful relationship with Death (through her more careful but no less adventurous lifestyle) was surprised too, but having not had the terrifying journey Puss had with the embodiment of death itself, was less concerned. Really she was more amused and even teased Puss about how there seemed to be someone that beat him in charming others if Meg could charm even Death. (Then Kitty and Death developed a casual friendship as Team Friendship came to help track down the one stealing souls.)
Perrito didn’t see a problem at all with this. He thought it was so sweet and was happy his “fellow therapy dog” found his person. Meg tried to correct him, but Death told her just let the pup have this.
Meg’s best friend (maybe she will be an OC, maybe my actual best friend…or heck maybe she and Goldi will become close through similarities of adoption and having only animal friends) was also quite shocked and concerned at first too, but trusted Meg’s judgement and that she knew what she was getting into…eventually.
Life (an OC) was indifferent until getting caught up in the middle of everything. She was more focused on the crime against nature that was someone stealing life from people, but when she saw the lengths this mortal would go to for Death…it surprised her into caring.
The rest of the characters Meg encounters in the story, it depends on what happens when they meet and if they’re friend or foe. She likes to keep the relationship quiet with non-friends.
11. what kind of outfit(s) does your self insert wear?
Tumblr media
This is her default outfit, which is her barmaid dress.
But throughout the story she wears other clothes depending on the circumstance and accessibility.
Tumblr media
This dress for example, which is from the party famous for Shrek crashing it and ending in him and Fiona returning to their ogre selves. Muerte and her were there to investigate a death that would occur. Anyone that watched Shrek 2 knows who it was.
12. how would the fandom view your character?
I’m not sure…it depends how protective of Muerte they are, but I think some would think her crazy or in an unhealthy relationship for whatever reason they can make up, especially if she became a popular character in the source.
Others would probably be cruel to her because she’s in the way of their OTP (PussDeath, I’d guess) and unlike Kitty who is also an anthro cat, they wouldn’t do any kind of poly thing because a human and two anthro animals isn’t as hot as three anthro animals.
Then there would probably be those that ship with her because she’s a canon character and is therefore public domain. Which I would be flattered by if this were to happen, because I’m doing something right in that case. lol
Then there would be those that support it because canon monsterfucker, perfect for Tumblr specifically. lol
There’s not just one answer, since fandoms are a chaotic mess of opinions and ideas. My response here is based on my experience seeing all of it.
13. does your self insert have any information about their family?
Yes. Her parents are still alive, as are her siblings, but she doesn’t visit because she doesn’t have time and then because she’s determined to take down her grandparents’ killer.
But she has a strong relationship with her mom, even though they don’t see each other much anymore. She still writes when she can…but has not had the heart or courage to tell them she’s in a relationship with Death himself. For one, would they even believe her? For another, this shatters several dreams her mom had for her future if the relationship stays strong.
On top of that, all three siblings were adopted starting with herself.
14. what hobbies does your self insert have?
When she has time and energy, she draws. She has a sketchbook and charcoal pencil that she uses and her muses are those that have made an impact or that she’s fond of. If you flip through the most recent pages you’ll find them full of sketches of Muerte’s various expressions or poses most of which are casual and relaxed.
You will also find sketches of Team Friendship and (if she stays in touch) the Bear Family.
15. how does your self insert play a role in the plot of the story? do they help directly defeat the villain, support the heroes, etc.?
In the story she is the protagonist and kind of an anti-hero, so the one that moves the plot mostly. She doesn’t go out of her way to help people in need as she’s almost exclusively driven by her hunt for the man that killed her grandparents and tried to kill her, once she learns he’s at large again. But throughout the story she does more good than she does bad, especially in the quest for the Wishing Star arc.
When it comes to stuff that connects to the movies, though, she’s a supporting character. Still the main character to the reader, but if you watched the movies and she was there she’s a side character that joins the main conflict when it benefits her and Muerte’s mission. Or just her.
And yes she does help defeat Jack Horner directly, but in helping destroy the map which leads to his death.
16. freebie! name a fact about your self insert you want everyone to know.
Her gloves aren’t just for fashion purposes, and she always carries a dagger at her hip. She has had to use it several times, but has not taken a life as of the start of Corre, Corre Pequina Roja.

Thank you for your response on the earlier ask, I really appreciated it 💯💯 on a lighter note, here is some game asks I got for you imma send.
First one: allocate yourself and Ateez as characters in the movie “Shrek”, who is who and why?
*wheeze* I havent watched Shrek in a hot fuckin minute oof.
Speedrun.
Yunho and Mingi as Donkey and Dragon bc Mingi would make a cute ass mfin dragon and Yunho's goofy ass could sell Eddy Murphy's lines like rent was due
San as Puss in Boots and i promise it has nothing to do with him being a whole badass cat with his own spinoff world and that bomb ass movie that came out this year. Im lying thats exactly why
Jongho as fiona but like only for that one specific scene where she hit that note and exploded that bird bc i can see ol iron lungs over here doing that shit
Otherwise i can see Jongho as Shrek himself because like. Cynical round man shaped like a friend who learns the meaning of True Love and ends up being the Best Boy? Sounds like Jongho. Plus there was the wrestling scene-
Im drawing blanks for anyone else but the idea of Hongjoong being the gingerbread man pleases me for the memes

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022)
I’d delayed watching this long enough that by the time I did, I’d heard all the great things, read all the shining reviews so much so that I almost didn’t want to watch it any more given my random meaningless avoidance of all things “critically acclaimed”.
So when I finally did, I was expecting to just love everything - after all, you’re reading the thoughts of someone whose unbiased favourite rides at Universal Studios Singapore are the Shrek dragon and puss in boots ones, someone who has been planning a princess Fiona tattoo (a la her Shrek Forever After head of the ogre resistance self) for years, and someone who bought Mark Oliver Everett’s autobiography years ago after falling in love with Eels from the various Shrek soundtracks… I could really go on about the many deep and lasting ways in which the Shrek franchise has stayed with me. I knew that some of the most raved-about elements of The Last Wish would be lost on me, such as the novel graphics and genre-bending animation and other umm technical things that I don’t really know how to speak to or care much about, but still, I should have loved everything else about it by all accounts.
So it surprised me greatly that this was my very favourite scene of the movie, which also happened to be the very very last:
Tumblr media
Where are we headed, anyways?
Off to find new adventures and to see some old friends.
Yea the only time I felt actually moved (ok there was one other scene, will share more shortly) was when the movie was linked back to the greater Shrek universe, where Far Far Away was referenced and depicted and suddenly I felt much fondness for the film I was watching (or rather had just finished watching) mostly only because I recalled the glorious, unique, colourful world it was a part of.
That’s sad, right? For a 95% (rotten tomatoes) movie?
I’m typing this on my phone right now which is not my preferred mode of reflection so I shall first briefly enumerate my sources of unhappiness, before hopefully elaborating further in the future -
1. Death’s voice acting seemed to diminish the fear factor which was a waste because I did enjoy how menacing his weapon-wielding actions were … like was it just me or was his voice not scary at all…
2. Given that Puss was willing to give up his life of yore for Kitty, I wish we got to see more of their relationship or at least understood it’s meaning to both of them a little better
3. I don’t know yet what explains this lacking, but why did I feel soooo much more for the goldilocks x three bears subplot than anything to do with Puss? Who, I need not remind, has always been a favourite? Like, he’s so damn cute but so meh in his very own movie? Why…
Okay that’s it for now hehe the only empathic piece de resistance I’d thought of was the far far away scene one and how I wanted to be cool and say that the split-second meaningless Easter egg moment was the best part of the experience for me… so cool and different right me 😎

Shrek 2 is the hero we needed and here is why
youtube
You see I could have just embedded this clip and that would be enough for an answer. Nobody and when I say nobody I mean literally nobody can argue with me about the greatness, the elegance, the excellence of this scene. The song surpasses the original in delivery, and the scenes that are recreated within the castle sequence, is even better than the ones it’s mocking... Overall, it is a theme within the Shrek franchise to do better than the ones you’re mocking, even when the movie itself is not taking anything serious.
On a more serious note, Shrek is a movie that started out as a parody of overused Hollywood tropes, but, through great writing, the franchise found its soul, right here in this film. While the first installment did not have much story to begin with (other than the fact that it was mocking Hollywood and Disney) Shrek 2 is a genuine attempt to have depth in characters and storylines while still mocking everything the fairytales stand for.
Tumblr media
The movie takes of from where it left in the previous installment. Before delving into the story we see Shrek and Fiona’s honeymoon in a montage and all is well within Shrek’s universe. Until, a letter gets delivered to their suite and they learn that Fiona’s family are expecting them to visit the kingdom for a celebration. This moment is a crucial one for me, because finally we are about to get answers to questions we had in the first movie. Like, where is she the princess of, why did her parents leave her at the castle, who are her people and the movie expands on these in a great way. Not only that but the movie also expands on its own universe. The newly introduced concepts are not foreign to us. Like of course an evil Fairy Godmother recruited people through a deal he made with King Harold long long time ago to make sure his son Prince Charming married the princess and became the king. By the way King Harold turns out to be the Frog Prince so the deal he made with Fairy Godmother for his happily after makes sense.
While, Shrek 2 is a great follow-up movie it's also a great standalone story. It is told in such a way that we are unburdened by a need to know what happened in the previous movie. The movie introduces new characters and places with such ease that we don’t question whether something like that belongs in this universe. New characters such as Puss in Boots, Prince Charming, king and queen, and Doris are all fan favorites. The way these characters rose to favor kind of reminds me of the Star Wars Sequel but don’t quote me on that.
youtube
I will use this section to point out insane attention to detail and great scenes apart from the final scene. Specific scenes like the dinner scene, thank you mother; mother!? are some of the greatest scenes that were ever produced. There is also the scene where Shrek, Donkey and Puss get arrested and a bag of ‘catnip’ is retrieved from Puss, the reference went over my head at the time but now, it is even funnier knowing the context. I would also argue that the dinner scene is a masterpiece on its own but sadly I don’t accept objections. The delivery of the characters are great as well. All the actors are on their best game and you can tell by the way they mend so well together.
Other than that, the details such as Far Far Away being modeled after Los Angeles is such a great idea. It plays more into the fact that Shrek doesn’t belong into the life Fiona previously had. The villain being a commercialized character within the Far Far Away makes a lot of sense as well. The pop culture references are integrated into its world don’t stand out, almost like they were always there. There is a burger king knock off named Friar’s Fat boy and Farbucks. It has been more than a decade (almost two) but the jokes they made about the consumerism culture still stands; like when Mongo (giant gingerbread man) destroys a Farbucks people who escaped from there go to the one across.
Tumblr media
Don’t worry this is the semi-final segment of my rant on Shrek 2. One of the most important parts of Shrek is its soundtrack. The songs are great at setting the tone and enhancing the viewing experience. A fair example of that would be Fairy Godmother’s Holding out for a Hero. It ties into the story better than it did in Footloose and I can fight you on it, try me. In the first movie soundtrack was good too but this… this is above that. Every single song has a meaning and contribution to the overall story and nothing stands out. While the first movie used the music to subvert expectations that this wasn’t your typical Disney movie second one aims for the neck. That is why still to this day you associate All Star by Smash Mouth, Livin La Vida Loca, and Holding out for a Hero with Shrek. It is that good.
Now, let’s talk about the greatest scene in animated movie history. I referenced it probably too many times but still... Fairy Godmother’s Holding Out For A Hero... Who came up with it, how can one come up with this, we are unworthy of such viewing. Jokes aside the scene is both suspenseful and funny. The rules are set straight and we know this has to have a good ending but there is a what if Shrek can’t make it, in the back of our minds while viewing that makes us scoot to the edge of our seat. The sequence has so many remarkable moments to point out like when Mongo slowly drowns or Puss fights with the knights, even the simple dancing is amplified and I’m not even talking about the vocal performance. This scene outdoes every scene ever existed full stop.
Tumblr media
I cannot let go of this movie I’m so sorry but to close this one off I will share my thoughts with you on a more serious note.
I think everyone falls in love with Shrek at least once, because we can relate to the way he feels and thinks on so many levels. Shrek was told time and time again that he was unworthy of being loved by a society that hated him for simply existing. He believed that until he met Donkey and later Fiona. Shrek 2 comes in when Shrek has learned how to love and be loved and to open up to someone but he is not ready to face society and, society is not ready to face him. Despite being loved by who matters to him the most he’s not the ideal husband for Fiona according to her family, friends and people. So he starts second guessing his worth. It’s when you get something you’ve always wanted but don’t feel deserving of it and it is something we experience everyday until we settle within our minds about who and what we are. Like a great philosopher in the name of Shrek once said: Ogres are like onions, they have layers; Humans are like onions too we have too many layers to be one thing. And That’s exactly why it is easy for us to connect with Shrek.

Shrek 2 (2004)
Tumblr media
Not so far, far away...
“Shrek and I drank this potion and well, now... we're sexy!“
Shrek 2 is a great example of what both an animated film for all ages, and a sequel should be like. The film changes locations, adds new characters, while also utilising and building upon the characters and the relationships established in the first movie.
Shrek and Fiona’s romance was something I didn’t think I’d enjoy on rewatch, but it really is stand out throughout these two movies. Everything they do is so selfless and they’re constantly looking out for each other. This film begins soon after the original, Shrek and Fiona seem very happy in their “perfect marriage”, but we see that isn’t the case when Shrek has to meet the parents. This is a great foundation for the plot since we see Shrek’s self-consciousness continue from the first movie and we see him develop some more.
More on returning characters; Shrek and Donkey have ride or die homies. Gingy and the gang really pulled through to save the protagonists. Shrek, Donkey and Puss being rescued is followed by one of the best and thrilling climaxes in film, in part due to the music. Like damn that shit is too good. Mongo had a noble sacrifice.
For new characters, Puss in Boots and Fiona’s Dad, Harold, are stand-outs. Puss is so fun to watch, although I can’t help but think of how bad of an assassin he is. The guy barely tried to kill his target and then became his friend immediately after. Harold has a surprisingly captivating arc, the choice to have him be the frog prince was a good one as we can see how that influences his feelings towards Fiona being an ogre. In the end, he is more empathetic. This theme of loving someone, in any form, throughout this franchise, is possibly it’s biggest strength. Also, the continuous hints in dialogue, character behaviour and set design that Harold was a frog is honestly amazing.
The villain duo, The Fairy Godmother & Prince Charming was a great choice as well. It makes a lot of sense when you think about how both these characters usually inadvertently work together in traditional fairytales. They are more threatening than Farquaad was, with their presence consistently featured throughout.
The humour here is definitely an improvement. The references were more consistent, here there’s more of Hollywood, TV and celebrity culture instead of a huge fairy tales. There’s no random reference that doesn’t fit, unlike the first movie’s matrix scene. Many animated films targeted at kids get praise when they have jokes for both kids and adults, this film seems to be better than most in that. Instead of having jokes for kids and jokes for adults, Shrek 2 has jokes that are simultaneously funny for all audiences. Most points in this film had us laughing for quite a while. Especially Puss in Boots being caught with catnip.
While I did love Puss in Boots, one aspect of him is my least favourite part of the film. The way he becomes part of the team felt very unorganic and unrealistic. For a “special assassin”, he isn’t very good, he tries for like 2 minutes to kill Shrek and gives up, and immediately becomes his friend. He doesn’t even do the cute eyes tactic, which probably would’ve worked. This aspect should’ve been reworked as it would’ve worked better with more build up.
Regardless, the plot progression for the most part was fantastic, there’s a clear structure in every apsect here. The climax is a clear contender for strongest part of the film. The soundtrack is fantastic, which is one of the film’s many improvements on an already great first movie. The movie is very funny and most characters feel right for the story and all its emotional beats. A great sequel overall.

Shrek AU (RtA spoiler free)
I can’t believe it’s come to this.
So I keep flip flopping between who is Shrek and who is Fiona and you know what, let’s have fun and make it a double casting.
Guin and Arthur are kept in the highest room of the tallest tower of a castle guarded by a dragon and a moat of lava in a volcano. Arthur turns into a werehog at night. Guin as a werebat? Or a vampire bat??? Either way, fun times to be had for these two because they’re cooped up but at least they have each other for company. And Omega as well. Omega prefers Guin because she doesn’t howl at the moon every night.
Gawain’s back to isolating himself because either his siblings don’t exist and he’s back to being full Knux or because his siblings went off to do their own things in their own corners of the world and he found that being alone suited him. And then Farquaad’s replacement (Mephiles? I’ll keep it Mephiles for now) dumps a bunch of flickies and chao onto his home and as much as Gawain loves nature there’s A LOT OF THEM. HE CAN’T MOVE AROUND.
Also Chip gets dumped with the flickies and chao and he’s an elder god of light but shhhh no one needs to know that yet.
Chip follows Gawain to DuLac and Gawain beats up all of Mephiles’ knights (except for Lancelot but that’s because he wasn’t in the tournament) and Mephiles goes ‘yeah okay I’ll clean up your home but only if you go rescue these people from this tower with my best knight Lancelot’ and Gawain is so done.
Galahad exists as Lancelot’s son still because I said so. Lance says goodbye to his boy before he leaves.
Neither fighter is much for conversation but Chip sure is. He has so many questions about everything.
The rescue goes about as smoothly as a cactus. Guin and Arthur prove to be more than capable of leaving the castle themselves but when asked why they didn’t just leave on their own they both frown and answer ‘tradition’.
Chip distracts Omega from protecting his precious smalls by being a precious small but also an elder god of light and look Omega is weak for powerful beings and Chip is the most powerful being of all.
Omega joins them in their journey back to DuLac.
Is Omega a male or female dragon? Who knows to be honest, we just use he/him pronouns because it’s easier and also Omega has no concept of gender identity.
Guin and Arthur join the Irritating the Knights Club. They INSIST to make camp for the night and they have a dragon on their side so it’s impossible to say no. They do wonder why they decide to hole themselves up in the same cave but Omega sits in front of said cave and all questions will have to wait.
The next morning after some sleep and some food, Arthur and Guin are full on trying to make friends, with varying results. It’s not until they wholesale beat up some woodland robbers and end their show with a fistbump that Lance and Gawain start going ‘oh...’
Cue the mildly romantic montages.
But oh no Mephiles is going to marry one or both of them and neither Arthur nor Guin are excited to throw away their newfound freedom.
My head’s going blank at this point but Omega eats Mephiles and Arthur and Guin are openly “monsters” but are suddenly met with the love and acceptance of their friends and romantic interests.
No one gets married yet because they just met three days ago.
This isn’t even touching Percival as Puss in Boots and King Ælle as Fairy Godmother and Metal Sonic as Prince Charming. I guess Lancelot was betrothed without his knowledge and now he’s not in DuLac anymore because he’s running around the world with his boyfriend and son.
