Billboard on 23rd St. for the city's free public bathhouses, ca. 1935. In addition to tubs and showers, they had toilets, changing rooms, pools, recreational facilities, and laundries, with separate rooms for men and women. At one time there were 20 throughout the city. They gradually closed after World War II, when indoor plumbing became increasingly available.

Public Bathhouses of Minneapolis
The public bathhouse dates back to ancient times in countries and regions around the world. Public baths in the United States were built starting in the 1890s and were promoted as hygienic, especially for working class populations who often did not have access to private bathing facilities. Bathhouses in Minneapolis grew rapidly and by the 1930s were once scattered all over the city. As private bathing facilities became more commonly available the popularity of these facilities diminished. Many closed, while some were repurposed into beach or swimming pool buildings, or for entirely different functions.
Photos top to bottom: John Deer Webber Baths in 1927, former Riverside Municipal Baths in 1965, Webber Park Baths in the 1960s, Calhoun Baths in the early 1900s, John Ryan Baths aka East Side Baths in 1925.

okay but what i think i love most about The Bath Scene is that jask fucking has a towel over his shoulder, sleeves rolled up, bopping about picking things up and tossing them in, all as if he has been hired to do this when like...fucking no one asked him?? to do any of it???
would LOVE to have seen like five minutes before when jask is just taking off his doublet, rolling his sleeves up, tossing a towel over his shoulder, all with an air of “ah yes in we go” while geralt is just. alright. this is happening now i guess.

I find myself perplexed by how readily even some platonic MoLan shippers tuck the Aes Sedai and her Warder into bed together.
Not be a stickler for canon (y’all do you), but I can’t recall them once sharing a bed in the books. Am I forgetting/overlooking a reference? (Genuine question.)
My assumption is that this stems, somewhat, from in ‘intimacy’ of the bath scene in episode 1.01 (even though Mo specifies “one room, two beds” upon their arrival at the Winespring.
The thing about the bath scene, it’s such a great straightbaiting feint. Absolutely consistent with the canon Shienaran bathing practices from the books. Co-Ed public bathing and all that, nothing romantic or sexual about it.
The only stretch of that scene being, what’s a tub like that doing in the Two Rivers? Do members of the Women’s Circle have weekly meet ups there, where they drink wine while they overshare or something?
