Followers Now Become the Body of Christ
11 Do not forget that at one time you did not know God. The Jews, who had gone through the religious act of becoming a Jew by man’s hands, said you were people who do not know God. 12 You were living without Christ then. The Jewish people who belonged to God had nothing to do with you. The promises He gave to them were not for you. You had nothing in this world to hope for. You were without God.
13 But now you belong to Christ Jesus. At one time you were far away from God. Now you have been brought close to Him. Christ did this for you when He gave His blood on the cross. 14 We have peace because of Christ. He has made the Jews and those who are not Jews one people. He broke down the wall that divided them. 15 He stopped the fighting between them by His death on the cross. He put an end to the Law. Then He made of the two people one new kind of people like Himself. In this way, He made peace. 16 He brought both groups together to God. Christ finished the fighting between them by His death on the cross. 17 Then Christ came and preached the Good News of peace to you who were far away from God. And He preached it to us who were near God. 18 Now all of us can go to the Father through Christ by way of the one Holy Spirit. 19 From now on you are not strangers and people who are not citizens. You are citizens together with those who belong to God. You belong in God’s family. 20 This family is built on the teachings of the missionaries and the early preachers. Jesus Christ Himself is the cornerstone, which is the most important part of the building. 21 Christ keeps this building together and it is growing into a holy building for the Lord. 22 You are also being put together as a part of this building because God lives in you by His Spirit. — Ephesians 2:11-22 | New Life Version (NLV) New Life Version Holy Bible Copyright © 1969, 2003 by Barbour Publishing, Inc. Psalms chapter 118
1 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.
2 Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
3 Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
4 Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
5 I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.
6 The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
7 The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.
8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
9 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.
10 All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them.
11 They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
12 They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
13 Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the LORD helped me.
14 The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.
15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.
16 The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.
17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.
18 The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.
19 Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD:
20 This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.
21 I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.
22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
23 This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
25 Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.
26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.
27 God is the LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.
28 Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.
29 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

7th April >> Mass Readings (USA)
Divine Mercy Sunday (Second Sunday of Easter)
(Liturgical Colour: White. Year: B(II))
First Reading
Acts of the Apostles 4:32–35
They were of one heart and mind.
The community of believers was of one heart and mind, and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they had everything in common. With great power the apostles bore witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great favor was accorded them all. There was no needy person among them, for those who owned property or houses would sell them, bring the proceeds of the sale, and put them at the feet of the apostles, and they were distributed to each according to need.
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm
Psalm 118:2–4, 13–15, 22–24
R/ Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love is everlasting. or R/ Alleluia.
Let the house of Israel say, “His mercy endures forever.” Let the house of Aaron say, “His mercy endures forever.” Let those who fear the LORD say, “His mercy endures forever.”
R/ Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love is everlasting. or R/ Alleluia.
I was hard pressed and was falling, but the LORD helped me. My strength and my courage is the LORD, and he has been my savior. The joyful shout of victory in the tents of the just.
R/ Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love is everlasting. or R/ Alleluia.
The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. By the LORD has this been done; it is wonderful in our eyes. This is the day the LORD has made; let us be glad and rejoice in it.
R/ Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love is everlasting. or R/ Alleluia.
Second Reading
1 John 5:1–6
Whoever is begotten by God conquers the world.
Beloved: Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is begotten by God, and everyone who loves the Father loves also the one begotten by him. In this way we know that we love the children of God when we love God and obey his commandments. For the love of God is this, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome, for whoever is begotten by God conquers the world. And the victory that conquers the world is our faith. Who indeed is the victor over the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
This is the one who came through water and blood, Jesus Christ, not by water alone, but by water and blood. The Spirit is the one that testifies, and the Spirit is truth.
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Sequence
Victimae Paschali Laudes
Christians, to the Paschal Victim Offer your thankful praises! A Lamb the sheep redeems; Christ, who only is sinless, Reconciles sinners to the Father. Death and life have contended in that combat stupendous: The Prince of life, who died, reigns immortal. Speak, Mary, declaring What you saw, wayfaring. “The tomb of Christ, who is living, The glory of Jesus’ resurrection; bright angels attesting, The shroud and napkin resting. Yes, Christ my hope is arisen; to Galilee he goes before you.” Christ indeed from death is risen, our new life obtaining. Have mercy, victor King, ever reigning! Amen. Alleluia.
Gospel Acclamation John 20:29
Alleluia, alleluia. You believe in me, Thomas, because you have seen me, says the Lord; blessed are those who have not seen me, but still believe! Alleluia, alleluia.
Gospel
John 20:19–31
Eight days later Jesus came and stood in their midst.
On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.”
Thomas, called Didymus, one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger into the nailmarks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
Now a week later his disciples were again inside and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe.” Thomas answered and said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”
Now, Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples that are not written in this book. But these are written that you may come to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that through this belief you may have life in his name.

Heartstrings: Glorious Praise to the God of Heaven and Earth
Praising God from a pure heart, acknowledging Him in all of our ways, is pleasing in His sight. He is God, Creator, and Ruler of all. We have no life apart from Him. The life of every living creature, and the breath of all mankind is in His hand. (See Job 12:10)
He has no pleasure in disloyal hearts. (See 1 Samuel 15:20-23, Isaiah 29:13-14, Ezekiel 33:31-32, and John 4:21-24)
"Let us lift our hearts and hands to God in heaven." (Lamentations 3:41)

"Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the Lord is the great God, and the great King above all gods. In His hand are the deep places of the earth; the heights of the hills are His also. The sea is His, for He made it; and His hands formed the dry land. Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand." (Psalm 95:1-7)

Cornerstone - by  TobyMac featuring  Zach Williams
TobyMac And Zach Williams are both Grammy Award winning Christian artists. They came together for this song called Cornerstone.
Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is considered the cornerstone of the Christian Faith.
Psalm 118:22
The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.
This verse was believed to be written by King David about 1000 years before Christ was born. Yet, he was referring to Jesus Christ. The Cornerstone.
If you take a closer look it also means that Jesus Christ layed down his life long before he was nailed to the cross.
John 15:13-20New King James Version
13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. 17 These things I command you, that you love one another.
The World’s Hatred
18 “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.

Brothers and Sisters
The word YAHUAH derives from the root words, “hyah” meaning – to be; come to pass, exist; happen. “huah” meaning – to be; become; exist; happen; also. YAHUAH’s name means life. Life exists because YAHUAH exists. Do you know the Name of the only living ELOHIYM the Creator of all? The scriptures asks you if you know HIS Name.
“Who has gone up to heaven and come down? Whose hands have gathered up the wind? Who has wrapped up the waters in a cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His Name, and what is the Name of His unique Son? Surely you know?” Proverbs 30:4
There are many debates over the name of the Most High and HIS Set Apart Son, but most of these debates are merely challenges made by those who don’t know Ancient Hebrew. Names like yahweh, ahayah, yehovah, and so on, only exist because of the ignorance of the Ancient Hebrew
pronounciation. And the pronounciation is further confused with the spelling of YAHUAH in the ancient (YHWH) and modern (YHVH) Hebrew.
The W (Waw) is pronounced as oo as in pool.
YAHUAH puts His Name in other names as following;
AHdam (Adam) = “YAHUAH’s Mankind”
AzzUr (Azor) = “Helpful is YAHUAH”
ChanAH (Hannah) = “Favour of YAHUAH”
EL = YAHUAH The Mighty One
YAHrusalem = “YAHUAH’s foundation of peace”
The pagans have abolished His Name by using YE, JE and Y’ is in Yehovah which means “The God of destruction.” And Jesus which means “The god isous (The anointed one who is pagan god.)”
Many of us have used the wrong names of YAHUAH and YAHUSHUA because of ancient Judaism wanting to remove ELOHIYM’s Name. And the pagan Roman Catholic Church who perverted the WORD with a book called the bible and changed the Messianic Believers into pagan christians. With many of them not knowing their God’s name or saying that their gods name is God.
YAHUAH makes it very clear why HIS name is so important.
“A son esteems his father, and a servant his master. And if I am the Father, where is My esteem? And if I am a Master, where is My fear? Said YAHUAH of hosts to you. Priests who despise My Name. But you asked, ‘In what way have we despised your Name?’ Malachi1:6
If you don’t say HIS Name then you don’t esteem YAHUAH. And He is very clear on what He does when people don’t esteem His Name.
“If you will not hear, and if you will not set it on your heart to give esteem to My Name, says YAHUAH of Hosts, then I will send the curse (Allah) on you, and I will curse your gifts/favours. And indeed, I have cursed it, because you are not setting it on your heart. Behold, I am rebuking your seed, and I will spread dung on your faces, the dung of your solemn feasts; and one will lift you up to it.” Malachi 2:2-3
If you seek His Name He will bless you.
And Jacob asked Him, saying, “Please let me know Your Name.” And HE said, “Why do you ask about MY Name?” And HE blessed him there.” Genesis 32:29
Why do people believe they can call Him whatever they desire as if they are the creator?
Many of these very people would desire confrontation if someone referred to them in a derogatory way. Yet they call YAHUAH by all sorts of pagan demonic god names. So why do we not call ABBA anything besides the Name He set apart since the ancient of days? Calling HIM anything but ADONAI ELOHIYM YAHUAH is an abomination! And when you point it out to pagan Christians their ridiculous response is, “He knows our hearts.” But He has bad news for those that reject Him and His unique Son with names of men and other gods.
“The heart is crooked above all, and desperately sick – who shall know it? “ I YAHUAH, search the heart, I test the deepest parts of the mind (kidneys), and judge every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.” Jeremiah 17:9,10
Blessed is he who comes in the Name of YAHUAH! Psalms 118:26
Names are very important to YAHUAH. The first task given to Ahdam was to name all of the animals.
“So the man named all the lifestock, beast of the fields and birds of the heaven.” Genesis 2:19-20
If we are to esteem the animals by calling them by their name, why don’t you esteem YAHUAH?
From the beginning they called on the Name of YAHUAH.
“Then they called on the Name of YAHUAH.” Genesis 4:26
“Oh, make YAHUAH great with me, And let us exalt His Name together.” Psalms 34:3
We need to,
Fear Their Names!
Sing praises to Their Names!
Confess Their Names!
Guard Their Names!
Remember Their Names!
Think of Their Names!
Esteem Their Names!
“Yah” is a poetic name…it’s the shortened version of YAHUAH. It’s what you would use in a song of praise to YAHUAH or a poem.
“Sing to ELOHIYM, Sing Praises to His Name. Raise up a highway for Him who rides through the deserts. By His Name YAH, and exalt before Him!” Psalms 68:4.
Throughout Psalms YAH is used along with YAHUAH. If you want to sing or say poetry to ELOHIYM then call HIM YAH and YAHUAH.
As in HalleluYAH!
The numbers do not lie: its impossible for YAH to be the sole Name of the Most High and anyone refusing to esteem HIS full Name violates the 3rd commandment, yet so many ignorantly say ‘YAH’ is the only Name.
YAHUAH is used alongside YAH an incredible 225 times!
YAHUAH commands us to,
Call upon HIS Name
“And in that day you shall say, Praise YAHUAH! Call on His Name; declare His doings among the people; make mention that His name is exalted.” Isaiah 12:4
“O give thanks to YAHUAH; call on His Name; make His deeds known among the people.” Psalm 105:1
To make HIS Name known,
“And for this reason I have made you stand, in order to cause you to see MY power, and in order to declare My Name in all the land.” Exodus 9:16
To not abolish, wipe out or forget HIS Name.
“And I will make My set apart Name known in the midst of My people Israel. And I will not let My set apart Name be perverted any more. And the nations shall know that I am YAHUAH, the Set Apart One of Israel.” Ezekiel 39:7
“And you shall break down their altars, and shatter their standing pillars. And you shall burn their image of their goddess Asherahs with fire. And you shall cut down the carved images of their gods, and shall destroy their names out of that place. You shall not do so to YAHUAH your ELOHIYM. Deuteronomy 12:3-4.
“If we have forgotten the name of our ELOYIM, and have spread our hands to an alien god, shall not ELOHIYM search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart. Yea, for Your sake we are slain all the day; we are counted as sheep of slaughter.” Psalms 44:20-22
REMEMBER THE THIRD COMMANDMENT
“You do not take, as in marriage, the Name of YAHUAH your ELOHIYM and turn it into a desolate and evil ruin, for YAHUAH does not leave the one unpunished who brings His Name to ruin.” Exodus 20:7
YAH = YAHUAH
YAHUAH means I AM, I EXIST, I AM LIFE
In the ancient Codex Sinaitics of the oldest Greek bible, before the roman catholic church was established
the Name of YAHUAH’s Son is,
IODA UPSILON- I-Y-X-Y =
YAHU / YAHOO
YAHU in English means, I AM HE.
The SPIRIT of YAHUAH = rUAcH
UAH means breath or life in Hebrew
RUACH is the SPIRIT of ELOHIYM.
YAHU together with UAH would mean I AM the past, present and future. The eternal life. Which is the same meaning as YAHUAH.
The FATHER’s True Hebrew Name is:
YAHUAH — Pronounced YAH-OO’-AH
The SON’s True Hebrew Name is:
YAHUSHUAH — Pronounced YAH-OO’-SHOO-AH
YAH, YAHU and UAH = YAHUAH
FATHER + SON + SPIRIT = YAHAUH

Psalm 118:1-29 KJV
O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever. [2] Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. [3] Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. [4] Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever. [5] I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. [6] The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? [7] The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me. [8] It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. [9] It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. [10] All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them. [11] They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. [12] They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. [13] Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but the LORD helped me. [14] The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation. [15] The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly. [16] The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly. [17] I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD. [18] The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death. [19] Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD: [20] This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter. [21] I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation. [22] The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. [23] This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. [24] This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. [25] Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity. [26] Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD. [27] God is the LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar. [28] Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee. [29] O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

我知道我的救世主活着!复活节快乐!
(Who was, who is, and who will ever be!)
Psalm 118:16-24
“16 The right hand of the Lord is exalted;
The right hand of the Lord does valiantly.
17 I shall not die, but live,
And declare the works of the Lord.
18 The Lord has chastened[b] me severely,
But He has not given me over to death.
19 Open to me the gates of righteousness;
I will go through them,
And I will praise the Lord.
20 This is the gate of the Lord,
Through which the righteous shall enter.
21 I will praise You,
For You have answered me,
And have become my salvation.
22 The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone.
23 [c]This was the Lord’s doing;
It is marvelous in our eyes.
24 This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Readings of Saturday, April 7, 2024
Reading 1
ACTS 4:32-35
The community of believers was of one heart and mind, and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they had everything in common. With great power the apostles bore witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great favor was accorded them all.  There was no needy person among them, for those who owned property or houses would sell them, bring the proceeds of the sale,  and put them at the feet of the apostles, and they were distributed to each according to need.
Responsorial Psalm
PS 118:2-4, 13-15, 22-24
R./ Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, his love is everlasting. or: R./ Alleluia.
Let the house of Israel say, "His mercy endures forever." Let the house of Aaron say, "His mercy endures forever." Let those who fear the LORD say, "His mercy endures forever." R./ Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, his love is everlasting. or: R./ Alleluia.
I was hard pressed and was falling, but the LORD helped me. My strength and my courage is the LORD, and he has been my savior. The joyful shout of victory in the tents of the just: R./ Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, his love is everlasting. or: R./ Alleluia.
The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. By the LORD has this been done; it is wonderful in our eyes. This is the day the LORD has made; let us be glad and rejoice in it. R./ Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, his love is everlasting. or: R./ Alleluia.
Reading 2
1 JN 5:1-6
Beloved: Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is begotten by God, and everyone who loves the father loves (also) the one begotten by him.  In this way we know that we love the children of God when we love God and obey his commandments.  For the love of God is this, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome,  for whoever is begotten by God conquers the world. And the victory that conquers the world is our faith.  Who (indeed) is the victor over the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?  This is the one who came through water and blood, Jesus Christ, not by water alone, but by water and blood. The Spirit is the one that testifies, and the Spirit is truth.
Gospel
JN 20:19-31
On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, «Peace be with you.» When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. (Jesus) said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you." And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained." Thomas, called Didymus, one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.  So the other disciples said to him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said to them, "Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger into the nailmarks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe."  Now a week later his disciples were again inside and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and stood in their midst and said, "Peace be with you."  Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe."  Thomas answered and said to him, "My Lord and my God!" Jesus said to him, "Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed." Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of (his) disciples that are not written in this book. But these are written that you may (come to) believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through this belief you may have life in his name.

The Triumphal Entry
12 On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
14 And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,
15 Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.
16 These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.
17 The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record.
18 For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle.
19 The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him. — John 12:12-19 | King James Version (KJV) The King James Version Bible is in the public domain. 2nd April >> Mass Readings (USA)
Easter Tuesday
(Liturgical Colour: White. Year: B(II))
First Reading Acts of the Apostles 2:36–41 Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus.
On the day of Pentecost, Peter said to the Jewish people, “Let the whole house of Israel know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and they asked Peter and the other Apostles, “What are we to do, my brothers?” Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is made to you and to your children and to all those far off, whomever the Lord our God will call.” He testified with many other arguments, and was exhorting them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand persons were added that day.
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm Psalm 33:4–5, 18–19, 20, 22
R/ The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. or R/ Alleluia.
Upright is the word of the LORD, and all his works are trustworthy. He loves justice and right; of the kindness of the LORD the earth is full.
R/ The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. or R/ Alleluia.
See, the eyes of the LORD are upon those who fear him, upon those who hope for his kindness, To deliver them from death and preserve them in spite of famine.
R/ The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. or R/ Alleluia.
Our soul waits for the LORD, who is our help and our shield. May your kindness, O LORD, be upon us who have put our hope in you.
R/ The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. or R/ Alleluia.
Sequence Victimae Paschali Laudes
Christians, to the Paschal Victim Offer your thankful praises! A Lamb the sheep redeems; Christ, who only is sinless,
Reconciles sinners to the Father. Amen. Alleluia.
Gospel Acclamation Psalm 118:24
Alleluia, alleluia. This is the day the LORD has made; let us be glad and rejoice in it. Alleluia, alleluia.
Gospel John 20:11–18 I have seen the Lord, and he said these things to me.
Mary Magdalene stayed outside the tomb weeping. And as she wept, she bent over into the tomb and saw two angels in white sitting there, one at the head and one at the feet where the Body of Jesus had been. And they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken my Lord, and I don’t know where they laid him.” When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus there, but did not know it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?” She thought it was the gardener and said to him, “Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take him.” Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni,” which means Teacher. Jesus said to her, “Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” Mary went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord,” and then reported what he had told her.

April 7, 2024
Second Sunday of Easter
Acts of the Apostles 4: 32-35
This account is a very positive on as the community around Jesus began to form and act.
Psalm 118
This prayer is one of thanksgiving for God’s gifts.
1 John 5: 1-6
This letter speaks of the love of God and the power of the role of Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
John 20:19-31
We are introduced to the mind set and actions of the community after the resurrection with an emphasis on Thomas.
In one way the reading from today’s Gospel should proceed the reading from the Acts of the Apostles.  By that I mean, John presents the followers of Jesus locked in a room trying to digest the recent news of the resurrection.   Fear surrounded them until Jesus made an appearance.  But in the Acts of the Apostles, we hear of a community of “one heart and mind” inspired by the Holy Spirit to fearlessly love and serve.  Be that as it may, we can understand the fear and repentance the community faced after the tragedy of the crucifixion.  And they were dealing with rumors of Jesus being alive and then encountering him.
But the similarity between both readings lies in the fact that the Holy Spriit is now taking a prominent role in their lives.  They encounter Jesus for the first time after his death, and “he breathes on them and says, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.’”  And the fruit of that gift is evident in our first reading when “the apostles bore witness to the resurrection” and they reached out to serve.  The text tells us that “There was no needy person among them.”
We do not know why Thomas was absent from them as they gathered behind closed doors.  We all deal with grief and fear in different ways.  But Jesus kindness and advice are gracious.  He seems to be reaching out to all of us when he says, “Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”
And that phrase defines the early church as it grew and began to lose the original Apostles.  In time it was the oral stories that helped to hold them together in addition to the promise and presence of the Holy Spirit.  And several decades after the Resurrection, the oral stories were written, and the message told and Christianity began to spread.
But then as now, different interpretations of the message also took hold and as we previously have written every 500 years or so after Jesus’ presence among us friction, heresy, and division have taken root.   But our readings today assist us as we address our present-day divisions and conflict.
Jesus is gracious to a rather stubborn Thomas.  And Thomas was willing to admit his mistake.  The consistent presence of the Holy Spirit is there in the early Church as they sought truth.  The community understood their call to reach out and assist those who in need.  And the Holy Spirit brought the infant community together “in one heart and mind.”
How do we Christians today live out Jesus’ message when mere humans try to assume the role of a Savior?  How do we deal with the many lies that try to cover the truth?  What do we do when violence is threatened to those who disagree with another opinion?  How do we deal with the misuse of God’s Word for political reasons?
Jesus answers these questions when he states, “Love your neighbor as yourself” and “the truth will set you free.”
