11-9 - a mystery

they say never meet your role models i agree now or per se never let your role models meet you

the earliest recollection i have of my role model is when his family visited mine when i was four and i, being extremely socially anxious, hid under the dining table to peering eyes of him and his brother

9 years later; a bustling diwali party his eyes light up in cartoon shock and silent violating questions "shit! you are so different" i grew up, no longer a shy little girl and me too, i was surprised as well

for a man i have only seen through blog and videos a national champion which i strive to be one who makes her parents proud and is filled with the same infectious energy how can someone be so perfect?

i admire him, how badly i want to be him radiate that energy & emulate him i did change but its for the better, promise its my turn to show it now, make everyone proud

The beams of light filtering from the trees

And illuminating the papers strewn

All over the grassy clearing

Felt like the sign from heaven that she needed

To start her poetic journey.

She had secretly scribbled for years

On beautiful cloth bound journals,

Loose sheets of yellow and blue craft paper

And soft brown paper napkins from her favorite café

On the other side of her small hill town.

Finally, she felt ready to share

Parts of herself portrayed on paper in words

With the community on whose fringes

She had lingered for years,

Not daring to step inside for she was scared.

But it was a new summer, a new season,

A new beginning, a new opportunity,

To be brave and unafraid and do something new.

It was the summer of stepping out of her comfort shoes.

And the bracelet on my wrist is the bracelet described in the poem. My boyfriend bought it for me while traveling. So this poem is partially about how the bracelet and my boyfriend help calm me down. But it's also about the semi unhealthy way I use them to cope. I should not depend on him everytime I feel vulnerable. And I shouldn't need a bracelet to forget or grow past my scars. Day 29: broken clock. This scene was inspired by the number 420 which I always see on a daily basis whether I look at the time, random numbers on a page, serial numbers, class numbers, friends birthday, etc. It just drives me insane especially since I dont smoke weed or associate the number with it. 𝓜𝓸𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷 𝓢𝓲𝓬𝓴𝓷𝓮𝓼𝓼

First one of the year. I'm hoping to be more consistent and atleast getting something written even if it isn't the best. This is a rough beginning and I'm rusty because I haven't written in pretty much an entire year but just getting something down was a big achievement!

11/10 - through clenched teeth

poison coats my tongue

and words become arrows

positioned in my bow. released. bullseye.

you are nothing but tainted water

cupped in my hands

leaking until a puddle collects

youre a broken match

which i set on fire

and with crackle comes ash

nothing, absolutely nothing remains

and like crumpled sticky notes

i rip you to shreds

and throw you away

“This Poem is a Coffin” This poem is a coffin, Where my thoughts of you Die to live again. The words have been Written out of spite And heartbreak Longing and tears. I dip my pen into The ink and begin A conversation with Myself and my dreams.
