I honestly love the clothing styles of each of the turtles in this show and I love how these styles really incorporate their personalities as well.

Like, obviously Donnie has the best sense of style, yeah? Think that’s something pretty agreed upon here. Everything we see him put together is very meticulously crafted and clean. That goes with his personality because Donnie is a very meticulous person in general, and he knows what he likes very, very well, and knows how to flaunt it in turn. Him commenting on colors he enjoys or disapproving of outfits that the others see no problem with also shows how he just generally has an eye for this kind of thing. He doesn’t just know what looks good on himself, but also what looks good on others - and I think this ties into his love of gift giving too. Donnie also has a flair for making sure that his things have his “mark” on them, and his clothing is no exception. All that he wears and how he wears them screams “Donnie.”

Mikey is really fun because his styles are honestly a pendulum between super simplistic and incredibly out there. And often, you’re going to see a lot of color or patterns to both. And in my opinion I think that all reflects really well on Mikey’s character - he’s got a colorful personality but even more than that he’s incredible sure of who he himself is. Mikey’s style, I feel, is less what looks good as clothes and more what sparks joy in Mikey himself. His bright stickers he wears are a testament of that! He’s comfortable in his own skin and his style reflects this perfectly, whether he goes for a more out-there look or a more toned down one.

Now, for Leo. Okay, I think I’m actually in the minority here I feel because Leo’s style isn’t really that bad? Hear me out- if you actually look at what he wears, try taking out, like, one accessory. Suddenly, that outfit works! He even manages to put together many good outfits in the series, but his “bad” ones are the ones that tend to stand out, alas (just like how his mistakes tend to be big ones oop-) Basically, my personal look at him is not that he’s inept at styling at all, but that he has a “too much” gene. And like everyone else, this sense of style is completely like him, too. Going too far to impress when all he needed to do was slow it down some to think things through. (And funnily enough, a lot of his outfits take random aspects from his brothers too - “nothing without them” huh?)

For Raph, I feel bad for him since pretty much all of his clothes are inevitably going to be ripped, but he makes them work pretty much each time. Like Leo, Raph tends to go more sporty with his looks, but I also noticed that his stuff often goes in that in between of comfy, cool, and cute. His pajama suit in particular comes to mind in terms of “cute” as it’s more something you’d see younger children in rather than older kids, and I think it can be a subtle nod to the fact that for all Raph tries to seem older, he’s still just a kid too.

I could probably go on, but these are just all off the top of my head - I love how the boys’ personality’s come out in so many different ways.

umbra de mancy / magica = basically the same character / fills the same role as in dt17. wanted her to have an Evil Magical Girl look to spite lena's sorceress outfit.

luna de mancy / lena = also mostly the same character. wanted to lean more into what punk style she already had. i love her arc in dt17, but here she reclaims her shadow magic + never has to reconnect with umbra ever. both she and umbra are ruddy ducks

sunny vanderduck / webby = shares an arc with cherry(huey), and while she still has the same role of having luna realize she deserves to have a good life and isn't a bad person, luna helps her realize that valerie(beakley) isn't the best guardian either...

twilight costa / violet = meets luna + sunny earlier on. outwardly she's mostly the same, but she struggles with feeling connected with other communities. american culture and her heritage, being too weird to one of the smart kids, and too smart to be one of the weird kids, being outcased from the rest of the [junior woodchucks]. but once she finds her place with luna, sunny, and cherry, she opens up her silly side more :)

oliver oca / gladstone: despite getting people to be around him with his luck, he knew he was still alone. never really seeing a point in trying to do things, when he knew his luck would handle it for him. his passivity worsens after the casino, where his efforts didn't help him get out. luckily, someone is looking to fix him... (post-development design. spoilers! he loses his luck. mainly connected to the rest of team magic through umbra, luna, and Rorschach Specter]

1, 2 - THE BELOVEDS,,, I saw a tiny rainbow on my desk and doodled a very quick babil as the Gay Rep, and decided to add Kel n then IT WAS GONE,,,, it rained.. but I did did an ibis paint one to fix it! so bonus the actual rainbow I took later, next evening. Funny how it's a pinkish aroace flag actually so moreso it's Kel :D

at the grove with dark urge emrys and I have GOT to say. sticking to keeping her a paladin (of vengeance here) was such a moment. still getting all the flavor text as a paladin but having none of your memories might feel like a slight incoherence in the narrative to most but the idea of waking up and nothing but blood blood blood. and this deep in your bones knowledge that you swore an oath at some point in your past and you must adhere to it. sexy as fuck.

#durge!emrys is not her canon but it might have to be a little separate AU I hold tenderly to my heart #in her canon I'm giving her a few more levels in cleric than I originally intended too -- probably like three #so I'll give her a few in ... Who was your favourite mario character as a kid, and who is it now?

honestly? that's a pretty tough question for me to answer, because i played a lot of mario games growing up, and i don't know if younger me would've been able to choose a favourite. in terms of established characters, i think a safe option would likely be bowser; he was always my pick in Mario Kart 64, Melee, and Brawl. though in terms of the entire series as a whole, i liked the luigis mansion ghost designs a lot.

a favourite nowadays? i'm not quite sure. if i had to pick an established character, it'd probably be wario or waluigi. in terms of the entire series, i like the Mario Sunshine boos design a lot... but that's narrowing it down too small because i like a whole lot of designs from the franchise, so it's really hard to pinpoint.

#ask #anon #kinda funny that i pick the ghost characters as designs i like while my main oc is a skeleton #anyway yeah its really hard to wager when it comes to the entirety of mario's games #like in comparson. i didnt play like. a massive ammount of crash bandicoot in comparison to mario games #but i can tell you my favourite character from those games is Dingodile #and then something similar with sonic the hedgehog. i really like Vector (atleast specifically from sonic heroes)#or eggman even. both his old designs and his current design. hes a really fun character #i think an early avatar i had on steam was fanart of dingodile #my favourite version of him is probably his look from crash bash. but his design from crash 4 is also really fucking great.#but ive always liked seeing dingodile as just. more animalistic. similar to most other bosses in Crash #like how he only makes animal noises when getting hurt or having a dumb laugh when winning in crash bash #juxtaposed to his first showcase in Crash 3 where he can talk. which thats fine and cool and all.#but i just really like how Crash Bash makes him more as just like. a sentient bipedal animal that still just makes animal noises #another series i can pinpoint a favourite towards is with Banjo Kazooie and Clanker.... my boy Clanker...#with tooie i also kinda like mr patch. ignoring one part of his characters design #he's visually goofy and i like the whole patch-work stuff in his design #anyway i hope that answers your question well enough anon

i am once again on your dash begging for your patience —

#𝗦𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗠𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 + [ OOC ]#i've been lurking as some of you may have noticed by your notifications getting flooded —#but i realized i never made that update post i said i was going to #so here goes:#work has been killer. as usual. expect me to be more active on the weekends ( sun - mon. )#and we're still fighting for three day weekends. if that happens i'll be A LOT more active.#as my sun and mon tend to be pretty well occupied with chores and gaming with the boys. another day will give me a lot more time to be here #but anyway that's not the main point of this post —#for the past few years or so i've been dealing with a few health issues #and it's just been getting worse since i didn't have affordable health insurance last year.#( i'll never understand how i was paying $300 a month for health insurance and still had $100 co-pays...smh )#i do have good insurance this year though !!#and i've been able to pick back up on the endeavor to figure out what the fuck is wrong with me #and in doing so we have deduced that i have a heart condition. an av blockage that worsens when i exercise / lay down / and with stress.#which is probably the cause of my extreme fatigue and general fogginess. and of course the cause of my chest pain and heart palpitations.#i've got another appt with the cardiologist to figure out the course of action from here #but there have been talks of everything from medication to a pacemaker — so we'll see what happens...#and of course if anything as serious as that happens i'll let y'all know in case i just disintegrate into the ether for a while.#but that's not until next month — so until then we here #we vibin' and survivin' —#replies and things just may be mushy for a bit. or...well...even more so than usual. because i won't lie things have been getting worse #and i think it's the stress from work — BUT ANYWAY #i have not forgotten about that inbox call i promise #this shit just sorta popped off and i lost track of time.#i will say this: i will EVENTUALLY get to them.#i may answer drafts & asks in the meantime so it's not completely dead around here ( and i also don't wanna keep y'all waiting on those )#but i won't be posting anymore memes or inbox / starter calls until that one's taken care of.#inbox is still open — if you'd like to send something to me from the memes i already have on my blog though ! that's never gonna change.#or just random things.#okay — anyway for real:

I have said this before but me being self proclaimed number 1 Ryoma fan and that being possibly literal-bc even if this bro had fans before me I might’ve simply done the most for him by talking about him so much + being the first to write fics that are in depth studies on his trauma across canons-I gotta say if there’s one other character I rotate a lot that isn’t him it’s probably Kei. (Shocking it’s not Hayato even if I do think about him too- but it’s usually associated with Ryoma bc gays 🗿)

I’m not even exaggerating when I say Kei would be my favorite and only isn’t because she doesn’t exist in many other canons yet my brain rotates the endless possibilities of how to incorporate her. I’ve already written a fic where she’s in shin vs neo verse which worked surprisingly well but I’ve been thinking how universally she could appear in other things. (Whether it be fitting her into a idea of a possible Go team in New or just a new canon completely) I think what I’ve narrow it down to is that she could be like- in Michirus role? Like she’s the supporting female who isn’t a pilot but helps out the real occasionally which I think would align very well especially with the original manga role she has of being Hayato’s assistant. And even if Hayato isn’t grandpa mode yet he still very much is in Saotomes position at that point. Not sure if she’d Hayato’s biological kid to further parallel Saotome and Michiru given well Hayato already adopts the Go team and his wife is irrelevant LOL.

I have no idea if I’ll ever write this specific idea but I’m still- rotating it cause this is such a easy way to get around “picking between Sho or Kei as the 2nd pilot” since both of them can still exist even if one doesn’t get to pilot, idm my supporting females. (Granted there could always be like- plot line where Sho gets hurt so Kei is temporary pilot but I can’t remember if Getter ever really did this since “once your hurt your ass is basically replaced” lol)
