In case you forgot due to all this whining on Twitter and Tumblr about how “There aren’t enough women in movies!😭” and “Disney is misogynistic😭”, here’s a reminder that Disney has good female characters from the past that taught girls important lessons:

Belle teaches girls that loving to read does not make you an outcast, and that you should stand your ground but also showing compassion.

Ariel teaches girls to fight for their passions.

Megara teaches girls that a broken heart can be healed.

Jasmine teaches girls that femininity must be treated with respect, rather than as a trophy.

Mulan teaches girls that what they lack in muscles can be made up for with brains, and that women have the ability to things just as good as any man.

Snow White teaches girls to be kind to the people around them, and that nothing is free in this world.

Captain Amelia teaches girls that accepting help doesn't make you weak.

Cinderella teaches girls to stay strong through dark times and still be kind to others.

Rapunzel teaches girls to find their self-worth and reach for your dreams.

Esmeralda teaches girls to fight for what is right, and to not judge people by how they look.

Tiana teaches girls about hard work, dedication and independence.

This is why the past matters.

She looks so young, so sad and angsty. I specifically wanted to do Snow just to talk about her when she was young a bit.

She HATES the evil queen, thinks she is a genuinely bad person and is very very disgusted by the fact that they’re the same age, she resents everything EQ represents. She is a constant reminder that her beloved mother is dead / going to die and EQ is going to take her place. She’s also going through a lot of the same things apple went through, presser, never being enough except it’s way harder because EQ is always competing against her as well.

I wanted her to look like an oil painting or somthing

A romantic moodboard of Snow White x Emperor Kuzco (Snowzco)

I ship Kuzco and Snow White because I thought it would be cute for them to bond over the fact that they were both poisoned. I love them because Kuzco is a narcissist who sees only what's on the outside and thinks that he's the fairest one of them all, and Snowie, who is kind and sees only inner beauty, is oblivious to the fact that she's the fairest of them all. Snowie negates Kuzco's narcissism and teaches him humility. (She basically baked him a big, humble pie.)

Sharing & Caring (Cookies 💕 🍪) [Based on this official story image.]

(I haven't read the full book, but based on this image, I'm assuming there's only one page for this part.)

"Oh my, you all have a surprise for me?" A sweet and innocent smile graced Snow White's blood red lips as her eyes were closed and her seven small friends led her inside their cottage.

"That's right!" Doc would confirm with a smile of his own.

"A wonderful surprise!" Happy added.

"Something sweet," Sleepy would say as the drowsy dwarf emitted a small yaw.

"For our sweet," Bashful chuckled, blushing a bit.

While Dopey would nod in agreement about the surprise, Grumpy would grumble and roll his eyes, his annoyance clear on his features.

Sneezy, of course, would just sneeze. "We hope you like it!" He sneezed again, which made Snow White giggle.

"Oh, I'm certain I will."

...

"Okay, princess, you can open your eyes now."

Once Doc gave Snow White the okay to open her eyes, she did so and immediately let out a gasp.

"Oh, my!" Elation shined in Snow White's brown eyes at her surprise.

Two platters piled with freshly baked golden cookies were sitting on the wooden kitchen table.

Her favorites too.

"What a sweet surprise!" Snow White placed a hand on her heart. "I'm so utterly touched by your kindness. Thank you everyone!"

After thanking them, Snow White and the seven dwarfs sat down at the table.

"Oh, you're very welcome, princess," Doc told her, taking a cookie from the platter.

"We've been watching you bake!" Happy would reveal as he happily helped himself to two cookies.

"And taking..." Sleepy yawned with a single cookie in his hand. "...notes." He fell asleep, which made the others, except for Grumpy, laugh.

"Apparently, we're not too bad at it," Sneezy would say, holding a finger to his nose while holding a cookie in his other hand.

He was attempting to steer clear from sneezing at the table as it would not be polite.

"I liked baking!" Bashful would giggle while munching on his cookie. "It was fun!"

"I bet old Grumpy did too since making these cookies were his idea!" Doc would divulge with a chuckle, causing his grouchy brother to shoot him a glare.

Snow White turned her kind smile towards Grumpy. "Grumpy, is this true?"

Grumpy would grumble and nod while looking away from Snow White, taking a cookie and reaching for another one.

Snow White would give a short giggle at his surly behavior before looking to Dopey who was sitting near her.

"Dopey, may I please have a cookie?" She asked him, to which Dopey, holding the cookie that he bit into, nodded with a smile while reaching for a cookie to give to his friend from the pile.

Being the polite princess she was, Snow White would always say please whenever she wanted a treat. 💕 🍪

Ever heard of Red shoes and the seven dwarfs?

Its a animated retelling of snow white with a twist. In this, Snow white is a plus size princess who while searching for her missing father, stumbles on a pair of magical red shoes that make her look more traditionally beuatiful and the seven dwarfs are a group of hero's who after making a mistake are cursed to be drawfs unless they get a kiss from the most beautiful women in the world

The movie got a bad reputation a few years ago as a fat shaming movie because of a poor marketing decision, but the movie itself is actually the exact opposite.

Snow white is not ashamed of her body, infact she love's who she is but its other's treatment of her that makes her keep the shoes so that she can find her father and stop her wicked stepmother.

The story is really about Merlin (the main male lead) learning to see past his shallow views of beauty and loving snow white for she really is, and the love story is really sweet, well developed and is everything you want from a fairytale romance.💕

The film has a great body positive message and it's a dame shame that the marketing did the film so dirty because there's a lovely story here about how beauty is only skin deep and that true beauty is about what lies within one's heart, and as someone who has always struggled with body imagery, this movie was more than cathartic.

If your a fairytale nerd like me then you'll injoy the film because even though its mainly a Snow White retelling it also mixes some Beauty and the Beast elements and it very losely takes inspection from Hans Christian Anderson's red shoes tale. The way the magic works is very unique and even a little creepy, sort of like how magic in the grimm brothers fairytales works but not as horrifying.

And Merlin has this cool card lightning trick that he does and it's just so fun to watch.⚡

The movie is a little cheesy at time's but it's also very cute, has good animation and if your a fan of Tangeld or Shrek than this should be right up your ally.

Red shoes and the seven dwarfs is a great movie to teach us about not judging a book by it's cover, so don't let the marketing fool you because this is very sincere fairytale with one of the best body positive message I've seen in film and left me with a smile on my face. 🍎👠

But also Merlin is yummy 😏
