I know we all love the god/deity Nico. But just consider. Nico mistaken as a god.

Why? Because srsly, just imagine it.

You’re a new camper. You’re 8,9,10,11—idk, and your siblings are giving you a tour around Camp. You guys reach the Big House, and there’s Chiron, Mr.D, and then him.

This kid - not so much older than you’re - who wears all back, a sword by his hip, a distinctly powerful around him, sitting at the same table with Dionysus and Chiron. They have been talking when you arrived. He greets you with a silent nod.

Later that day, you see him again at lunch/ dinner. Still sitting with Dionysus. His plate is empty. They talk through out the meal. Perhaps he doesn’t need to eat.

You notice he has a private house all for himself, not so close to other cabins. Maybe he doesn’t like others trespassing in his place.

He’s also the quiet and reserved type, you figure.

He doesn’t talk much. But when he speaks, everyone listens. Whatever he has to say is usually impactful.

He usually sits with the goddess Hestia during the campfire. Rarely someone joins them. Will Solace does sometimes, probably bc the guy’s friendly with just everyone.

You see him in the Arena. His power is absolutely terrifying. Like. God-tier.

You take note of the fact he sometimes leaves Camp for days on a mission or an errand. Something about ghosts and Underworld. As far as you know, no one else in camp does that kind of task. And you absolutely didn’t expect the Underworld to be so easily in and out of. Not for a demigod, at least, because even the mighty Percy Jackson dislikes going there.

He talks about Cerberus and the Furies and Charon and calls Hades “dad”. He must be a chthonic deity. That explains his attire.

And the name di Angelo. It certainly sounds someone to take souls to the afterlife. The name Nico should be the equivalent of Apollo’s Lester.

When another god, Apollo - or Lester, comes visit. You see how the Olympian playfully jokes around and laughs with the Kid. In response, the Kid acts completely relaxed around him, despite not being one of Apollo’s children, whereas you’re there being like Omg it’s a God!. You figure that’s how fellow gods treat each other.

Nico di Angelo must be a God, right?

So I absolutely love the idea of a Kane Chronicles/PJO crossover in which somehow Nico accidentally becomes the host of Anubis.

Nico and Anubis are hanging in a graveyard. Anubis is standing behind a mausoleum so when Sadie and Carter find them they are understandably confused. After all, Nico looks very similar to Anubis–so similar, in fact, that with Anubis behind the mausoleum, they thought Nico WAS Anubis.

Anubis moves to introduce them. He calls Nico his friend and goes to pat his shoulder when *something* happens. And suddenly Nico has fallen and Anubis's form vanished. In Nico's eyes instead of pupils there are golden ankhs. He's understandably panicking, and Anubis appears again, trying to comfort him.

Because somehow, when Anubis placed his hand on Nico's shoulder, he took him as a host. So Nico has a god in his head now. And he can see into the Duat.

Just imagine.

Nico fighting like a demon, the faint image of a jackal fighting alongside him. Throwing out Divine Words as he summons shadows and bones. Biting with extra-sharp canines if he's trapped. A wild animal, and in each eye a golden ankh, burning with the fury of the gods.

On the other hand, he works through some stuff

He becomes less shut off from everyone. Less anxious with somebody in his head to reassure him. Anubis is respectful; he backs off when Nico wants to spend some time without the voice in his head, but is always supportive when he's needed.

It would be hard for Anubis to reach him down there, of course, because though death is universal, monsters are not, and Tartarus is just so very Greek. All Anubis can manage is to lend Nico some strength, which is all that keeps him from dying in the house of Nyx. When he's captured, it is Anubis's power that keeps him alive until the Seven can rescue him– the pomegranate seeds are powerful, but not that powerful.

When Percy and Annabeth fall into Tartarus, Nico can't move. He desperately reaches out to Anubis, allowing him to possess his body, not caring in anyone finds out. They sprint forwards and Anubis casts a Divine Word– Tas, bind, to create a net keeping the two up. But the pull of Tartarus is too strong, and they fall anyway.

Nico beats himself up about it. After all, if he hadn't frozen, hadn't taken the time to decide to let Anubis take the reins, he may have been able to save them. But Anubis gently reminds him that some things are meant to happen, and Nico doesn't blame himself as much, especially once they emerge from the Doors.

Eventually he tells the Seven. He introduces them to Anubis and Brooklyn House. Everyone becomes really great friends. Nico has dinners with the Kanes. He visits Brooklyn House often, occasionally bringing Percy and Annabeth if they want to see Sadie and Carter again. He even brings the rest of the Seven sometimes. Eventually, he starts bringing Will.

Bast kind of dislikes Nico from the beginning, because of his connection to/the fact that he is hosting Anubis, but soon she grows to think of him as another of her kits.

When Hades finds out, he asks Anubis to show himself, so he makes another form and Hades chews him out (how could he be so irresponsible, does he have any idea the danger this holds for Nico, does he even know how to mitigate the damage that their powers combined will cause to Nico's body, etc) but it's clear he's just worried. When they explain they're okay Hades kind of unofficially adopts Anubis, despite them being from separate pantheons. Nico is Prince of the Underworld, and now by extension, Anubis is Prince as well.

Anubis helping Nico accept himself. Nico in my AU is non-binary and it takes him a while to come to terms even longer to accept that he doesn't have to look a certain way just because of his gender or because of his being the child of Hades. Anubis helps him realise that he can wear colours, he can be pastel and soft and still be badass and not be any less non-binary– and absolutely the Ghost King while being adorable and fluffy and rainbow.

So yeah. Basically Nico as the host of Anubis.

Bianca & Maria dies { not from Zues btw } so Hades became overprotective of Nico, so no one or any of the gods { besides Persephone & the other underworld gods even } knew about Nico existence

even more so after Nico started developing his underworldly powers & secretly keeps him in the underworld

{ spoiled & pampred by the underworldly beings, Charon, Cerberus, ect ect }

Nico became a sheltered & Shy boy never really meeting anyone alive or left the underworld in iver 80 years

Percy, Annabeth & Grover than came into the Palace to see a young boy sitting besides Hades throne playing with Mythomagic along with happy shadows surrounding him protectively

i have ideas for FOUR JASICO fanfics — and i just don't know which one to write first [frustrated gasps]

the first: it would be the second season of a fic that I recently published on wattpad in portuguese, in which they are all studying at the university of new rome and the stories of the other characters are also narrated (like leo with an OC, piper and reyna...)

the second: a fluffy story of how they got closer after the war, would have a very wonderful OC daughter of Hecate who would be their best friend

the third: it happens after TOA, I'm VERY excited about this one because it would have more adventure scenes, which I'm not so used to write. There will be jason's ghost and some quests and... I really love this one

the fourth: an AU inspired by an idea I posted these days about nico being the prince of the underworld and jason the prince of olympus, it would take place in ancient greece, it would also be inspired by velinxi's illustrations

I don't know what to write first and at the same time I want to write them all —send help!

Something something Nico leaves and then returns to the Camp in one of these reunions whatsoever. And the point is he is well. He’s glowing. Literally. Because he’s dead. He’s dead years ago, and there’s a certain calmness in him, the type of relief a cancer patient gets after wearing down themself to fight illness for so long. Death has been kind to him, and Nico appears like a vision in a dream - silver at the edges and flowers in his arms, courtesy of Persephone - smiling, serene, stripped of what Hades considers undesirable for an eternal existence and still warmer than his breath. His smile shines starlight yet blurs like an old photo, more of a distant memory than a living person present (because he’s not. A living person, that is).

Hazel cries, her hands clenched by her sides to refrain from touching her brother, and all Nico says is “There’s no need to cry for me. I’m happy where I am.”

Imagine if Nico as he got older started to become more… godly like nico in my au is a legacy of nike, Aphrodite, and Thanatos courtesy of his mothers side of the family might explain more. But like he is so connected to the mythical world more then the mortal world he slowly turns more godly. His blood color changes from red to black, when his blood touches anything besides himself it becomes this acid like substance that he takes advantage to kill enemies. Although he hates it since his blood color being red was the only thing that makes hin believe he is still part mortal he thinks its cool
