Watching the Always Open and reading up hearing them talk about the end of V3, V4 and 5 about how Yang was so upset and angry that Blake left, even if Blake thought she was doing the right thing, and how you can see the depth of a relation up if they’re able to get over and come back from those strong emotions. Yang was hurt, but Blake proved that she wasn’t going to leave her again. Blake was so anxious that Yang could turn out to be like. Adam but she proved that whatever positive or similar traits they had it was All Yang no hint of Adam at all. It’s just I’m only 7 minutes in but hearing THEM talk about their characters and how they got to see things play out Knowing the whole time it wasn’t just fandom speculation it wasn’t just the regular kind of shipping where you know the characters aren’t gay but you build your own narrative. They are a Canon Couple and have been Written to be a Canon Couple just like Pyrrha and her feelings for Jaune, just like Renora. They were written to fall in love and it’s been confirmed by the voice actors and Kerry. I hate ppl who use Monty’s name in their arguments but if Kerry says so that means obviously Monty thought of it too. The Together Together joke in Volume 1 AND Yang introducing Ruby to Blake and having that little “I like your bow it matches your pajamas” ARE BOTH THE BEGINNINGS OF THEIR RESPECTIVE ON SCREEN ROMANIC BUILD UP THE BEES AND RENORA DEVELOPED AT THE SAME TIME ON PURPOSE AND ITS CONFIRMED!! AND THE SEASON ISN’T OVER YET EE HAVE FORU MORE EPISODES and hopefully the rest of the series but I’m crossing my fingers. I know it doesn’t live in a vacuum and ppl will say this doesn’t excuse all the shit that went down at RT but I need thought it was meant to do that. The ppl making the show who still work there and many who aren’t were so happy to see the Bees and WANT to make the show despite the company they work for it’s not just everyone is evil. So I’m hoping so badly we get to see the conclusion of this show but V9 has been so incredible and depending on the last episode if this is all we get for the rest of time. It might be ok once the dust settles.
But I need the bees meeting the parents so V10 greenlit manifestation
This is quite the ask but I'll answer what I think your real question is.
I want the rest of the series too, I know RT is a shit company but the fact of the matter is (and I'm sorry to be so blunt about it) almost ALL entertainment companies are shit.
That doesn't make the people working for them bad, it doesn't make the shows they produce bad and it certainly doesn't make us bad people for loving those shows and wanting them to continue, It's been BLATANTLY obvious that nearly everyone who worked on V9 did it as a labor of love.
I think, with any luck, we'll hear something about v10 being greenlit after V9 is over, especially if the viewership numbers are as strong as I think they are after this past chapter.
In an ideal world I'd love to hear the news that 10, 11 and 12 are greenlit because I feel like they could tie up the show nicely, even if I'd always want more.
Also, yeah, at minimum we get four episodes of Blake & Yang being an actual couple and I hope so, so much that we get more.

RWBY VOLUME 9 SPOILERS | RANT(?)
A lot of ppl r talking about the next episode or the one after having a Punderstorm for Neo & Ruby, which I think is just a guarantee at this point. But how a lot of people want it to go is very much not enough. Like yes, I think the Punderstorm will be to get the Roman situation figured out. But once they return to whatever area they're in before getting sent into the storm, THEY NEED TO HAVE A CONVERSATION. They still have their scrolls, as shown by Ruby, in one of the earlier chapters, so they can communicate through that.
So many people think Neo is irredeemable and also that she might die by the end of the volume. She might die at the end (though Rooster Teeth has already fucked themselves over enough I don't think that's a smart move), but she is definitely not irredeemable, and her Ruby are very much mirrors in many ways. I saw a lot of theories since Volume 8 and over the 2 year break of ppl like Penny (until she died), or Jaune would help Neo get better and be her friend. But NOT ONE PERSON said Ruby, too blinded by the fact that Neo is upset with them and completely ignoring the fact that that will absolutely get resolved at some point.
They both lost EVERYTHING at The Fall of Beacon. Neo lost Roman, her One Thing, her WHOLE LIFE, gone in an instant, and she didn't even find out until after the fact because she got swept off by the wind because of Ruby hitting the button on her parasol.
Ruby lost her childhood. She was too young when Summer left and died for that to really have the same effect, though I will touch on this later. She was 15 when in one night her school, her kingdom, her home, got destroyed. She watched her best friend, who she loved (I'm not gonna argue with ppl today on whether or not it was romantic or platonic. That's not the point of this particular post), die. She literally saw Penny's torn apart corpse and barely even had time to cry before having to fight for her life and the lives of everyone around her. Then she saw her unconscious sister, WITH HER ARM CUT OFF, laying on the ground next to their other teammate who had been stabbed and is crying while apologizing to Yang's unconscious body. AND THEN SHE GOES TO GET PYRRHA AND WATCHES HER DIE!
She doesn't even get to process anything until waking up days later, where she is asked a bunch of questions and asked to relive everything right after waking up. Then her sister, who is a mother to her, pushes her away after telling them that one of their friends ran away, while the other was forced to leave by her abusive "father." Yang can't even say I love you back to Ruby. Then she leaves on a two year trip that ends up leaving her with LITERALLY the weight of all of Remnant on her shoulders, millions if not billions of lives, and she's been told that supposedly, THERE'S NO WAY TO ACTUALLY WIN. SHE IS 17 FOR FUCKS SAKE.
....collecting myself. *breathes*
Okay.
What I need to happen. Either in tomorrow's or next week's episode. (This can happen in the center platform of the Punderstorm or when they get back from it. Either is fine, though I think it would be nice for it to be the former) Once Ruby figures out why Neo hates her, Neo finds out the truth, and that gets resolved. I really want Neo/Trivia and Ruby to just sit. Just sit and fucking breathe. To cry, to scream, to get out everything. I want them to know that the other understands. Neo/Trivia can finally grieve her childhood and especially Roman, and Ruby can do the same. She hasn't had even one moment where she's been allowed to be actually vulnerable and healthily express her feelings and grief about Penny. She should be allowed to grieve and mourn. And they should both be there for each other, over the ill-conceived (i think thats the right word) differences, away from anyone that may interrupt them (especially if this happens on the center platform of their Punderstorm), just a moment of peace and silence. End of Chapter 8, cliffhanger.
Chapter 9. Eventually, the Punderstorm will end/WBY, and Jaune will find them, in which case they either catch up and see them sitting together and being at rest (something they haven't seen from Neo ever and from Ruby in a LONG time) and they, albeit cautiously, figure out what's going on, OR they (especially Yang and Weiss) go head first and attack Neo, causing Ruby to get up and stand in the way to explain everything, and of course apoligize (Yang, Jaune, and them better apoligize too though or else-).
Much like how Yang didn't really trust Emerald right away, I don't think they're gonna immediately drop all walls, and everything will be hunky dorey with Neo/Trivia. But I think that they will sorta quietly (not just because she can't speak-) follow along and try to help them get out, I don't think she'd sacrifice herself to the tree (if that does end up being a thing), she still wants to kill Cinder. If she does sacrifice herself to the tree so they can get back, I think there'd be a little scene with her and Ruby where she promises Neo/Trivia that they'll take down Cinder and with a death grip hug followed by tears, tells her that her sacrifice won't be in vain. Ruby makes a promise to a scared girl that she sees herself in so much as a trade. She gave away her Emblem, which symbolized Summer's promise to come back, Summer didn't want Ruby to get wrapped up in this. That's why she left. And her sacrifice was in vain. And Ruby won't let that happen again.
Also. If any of you fucks. Think to comment/reblog this with some stupid shit (This is not a post that is asking for criticism or opinions, nor a place for you to call me delusional because "there isn't enough time for all that" or "oh Ruby is probably just gonna lose it and attack Neo without remorae" or whatever the fuck). I will bury you alongside Pyrrha & Penny.
Maybe I am delusional, but then again, maybe I'm not, I don't care, I just needed to get this out. If for nothing else, then to make you guys think and to tire myself out from typing.

SPOILERS FOR RWBY VOL 9 BUT HOLY SHIT I COULD TALK ABOUT THIS FOR HOURS

OKAY SO LIKE. WOW????? this is so much and its SOOOOOOO GOOD like both ruby and jaune both have completely valid points !!
ruby is finally being allowed to snap a little, shes allowed to be pissed at her friends and sister who have all done a pretty piss poor job of supporting her, despite the fact that shes the youngest and has the most weighing on her. its great that show is lampshading (something i never expected to say) the fact that ruby is usually just looked to for the answers as well as telling blake to shut up when she tries to do the old "i know things look bad but" schtick that always shows up in the show. its FANTASTIC that ruby just leaves them behind even if we know itll be temporary; i truly hope this is a wakeup call for WBY who have been passive in rubys life for FAR TOO LONG despite all ruby has done for them
and its AMAZING that ruby *CALLED BLAKE AND YANG OUT* for prioritizing their relationship NOW! like i said on twitter, rubys reaction to the bees means her "what" in reaction to weiss' "finally" earlier in the vol wasnt confusion. it was disbelief that this is the priority for her sister and teammate after everything and considering where they are; not in a homophobic way (duh) but in a "we are literally in hell and salem is still OUT THERE with two relics and a maiden and we destroyed a fourth of the known world bc of a plan crumbled as we made it AND PENNY IS DEAD and we dont know what happened to our friends and all the civilians and NOW this is a priority?!" way, WHICH IS SO FANTASTIC. i just hope that the writers let this stand and dont have ruby walk back her feelings to protect WBY's because shes 100% RIGHT.
and jaune. oh jaune. i think its easy to forget that jaune really has sort of revolved his entire life around ruby for the past few years; hes really the only one thats never left rubys side, except unwillingly. so hes really not wrong when he says that it IS all about ruby, it always has been; yes, he chose to go with her but doing that has led him to do some really terrible things and of course when he's experienced such high levels of trauma (they all have) and then is abandoned to a madhouse of the ever after, hes gonna snap, AND HE ACKNOWLEDGES THAT HES NOT WELL. he knows hes struggling, he realizes that he shouldnt have yelled, but hes VALID FOR STRUGGLING IN THE FIRST PLACE. again, i hope its something that the writers let continue naturally and not just have it walked back or dismissed as a lot of male trauma is done in the show (looking at you ren i see you)
side note, how WILD is it that yang literally *moves in front of blake* as if to protect her from RUBY?! like thats so insane to me, and it just VALIDATES rubys annoyance and betrayal that yang is prioritizing blake and their feelings over ruby and their situation here. also, yang protecting blake???? i thought blake was the fiesty one? the one that had a shouting match with weiss for hours? the one that shoved past sun and shouted "hes mine" to get at roman? then again, ever since adams death she barely been able to fight at all so maybe i should just stop being surprised that blake is a wilting wallflower even around her own friends. and BOLD MOVES from yang to act like RUBY is the dangerous one when shes rightfully showing anger and frustration, like yang isnt literally the one known to have anger issues and lash out at ppl. i guess its only okay when yang is mad, ruby really is just having a hysterical woman moment i suppose
UGH this is just so nice and i hate to praise miles about anything but hes always voiced jaune very well and this is a real standout moment from both him and lindsey. good catharsis and felt really good for a least a tiny TINY bit of my critiques of team rwby to be acknowledged by ruby and jaune; hopefully this shit can continue and let them ALL learn and honestly i hope we get even more scenes of ruby and jaune laying into others/each other and bringing criticism that rwde has been saying for years to the screen

Not to give haters any kind of attention but their hatred for Jaune is so funny to me. Bc it’s either they hate Miles and Jaune, for whatever reason I don’t know like as far as I know he hasn’t suddenly committed a string of crimes or anything. OR they say he takes up too much screen time and takes away from the main story. (And I guess is now relevant in the newest ice queendom episode. RT isn’t even making that so why are you afraid he’s gonna steal the show when has he ever stolen the show even in rwby prime) And like. That’s so funny to me bc his semblance is literally being a hype man for his friends. He amplifies aura. He takes hits for them. Dude clearly has a complex but it’s not thinking he’s better than anyone and I know V7 and V8 had a lot of characters so if ppl are worried about character crowding I get That. But Jaune was literally Ruby’s first friend, they shared doubts about being a leader, were both uniquely traumatized by Pyrrha’s death. That’s Ruby’s bestie you’re talking about show some respect he is rooting for all of his friends to thrive and most likely Hates His Own Guts more than y’all ever could. Let the man breathe!
And for the ppl who claim Jaune is a self insert…. In what way? He doesn’t get Weiss, the girl who liked him for real was kinda forced into giving up her life, even if she won the fight she would’ve been a maiden first and a person second. And he hasn’t had any romantic colored relationships since then. He works hard to be better and cares for his friends and in 9 volumes has yet to become a super cool awesome guy who outranks the more skilled people around him. Canon Jaune is his own person. Fanon Jaune gets a lot of harems. Double check who you hate. And if it’s still canon Jaune that’s fine I guess I’m here to ramble not change anyones mind. if you had shown first year jaune himself now i don’t think he would have believed he was capable of it. leading a team into a literal hellscape to try and save one of their own....
the fact he believes they were going to save oscar and get out with all of his heart comes from the fact he couldn’t save pyrrha, no doubt. he vowed, ever since, that he would never let one of their own fall again if he could do something about it. he takes it personally, he believes it so much because he can’t fail. if they did, they’d lose oscar, and it just wasn’t an option.
i don’t think jaune is completely fearless, but i just think that his drive and desire to save everyone overpowers everything else. you can’t tell me they all weren’t terrified of salem when they faced her, but finding oscar? that was never not an option.

Weiss
How I feel about this character: k-k-kween
All the people I ship romantically with this character: *cracks knuckles* SUN, blake, yang, jaune, neptune, ironwood, etc etc.
My non-romantic otp for this character: her relationship with ruby is adorable. Also her relationships with winter and whitley.
My unpopular opinion about this character: something that has been bothering me about weiss recently is that now that she is the Emotionally Mature One (tm), she's just not allowed to have internal struggles? This was super obvious with her conflicts with her siblings in v8. We don't see her have any second thoughts about her and winter going different ways and just seems pleasantly surprised when winter calls her. When willow tells her that whitley felt abandoned by her and that's why he lashes out, we don't see weiss have any normal feelings that would come with that sort of revelation.
If the last time I had seen my older sibling (one that I look up to and am close with), they were severely injured and following a man I considered a dictator- I would have second thoughts? Show a little worry? Idk. If my mother revealed to me that I hurt my little sibling by leaving them alone in a household with two abusive parents and that's why they hate me, I would feel a least a little guilt. Even if I shouldn't, I would. And again, second thoughts about my past choices.
Instead weiss is just constantly self assured in everything she does and shows no complexities (emotions wise) that we saw from her in earlier volumes. And I understand it's supposed to show growth, but it just comes off a self centered and callous much of the time, esp in her arc with whitley.
One thing that I wish should happen with this character/has happened: *bangs pans and pots together* let! her! have! a! conversation!with! her! brother! please!

My unpopular opinion about this character: don't really have an unpopular opinion about winter. I wish they would have addressed winter's complicity in what ironwood was doing in-show, bc her fight with ironwood just kinda rang hollow to me. I was just thinking "winter your ass was up there on the screens with ironwood in mantle oppressing them don't act like you were never okay with it". Winter stans don't @ me.
One thing that I wish should happen with this character/has happened: I want to see her actually have an arc with her brother instead of it getting half assed for time like they did with weiss and whitley (I know it sounds harsh but I'm salty).

My unpopular opinion about this character: I would like to see him talk more with characters instead of only existing to be Dues Ex Whitley. Please.
Also I feel like whitley's turn around was a little too unrealistic? I appreciate that they tried to show that whitley is a good person with a consience underneath all of his survival mechanisms, but an abuse victim like whitley can still be a good person while realistic suffering from the after effects of being groomed and manipulated for years. Whitley showing realistic concern for his father would not have made him a bad person or hindered his healing process. Whitley seemed to truly be attatched to his father, even if it was unhealthy.
They even had whitley bring him up ("after what you did to father") and had shown whitley in jacques' office afterwards. But it was framed in a way that whitley's concerns were trivial and should be dismissed and disregarded (as shown by weiss basically telling him that whitley should get over it bc she's trying to save the world and shoving him aside). It's only until whitley goes along with what weiss wants and forgets everything that he was upset about before is when he's seen as a good person, and it was just a little too quick and convinient for me.
Like.... Whitley should be allowed to be upset about his father, his family reputation, and his mother locking herself up in her room. Even if it's trivial to weiss, whitley at that point had nothing else and was alone. And the resolution to that was basically "whitley gets over it because he saw ruby talking on the broadcast about how they need help and overheard weiss mention family to may in an argument". And idk. It just rubs me the wrong way.
One thing that I wish should happen with this character/has happened: I wish he would have had a conversation with weiss to flesh out their relationship and I also hope that they handle his relationship with winter well whenever they choose to do it.

My unpopular opinion about this character: her cracking a joke about how she's above drinking in the dark was so tone deaf djdjsjsj. Like ma'am u were just neglecting your 14/15 year old son during a literal apocolypse and he had no adult around at all to look after him at all for his physical and emotional needs. I dont think I need to explain how horribly abusive that is. Yes, before she was doing the same thing but at least whitley had staff, klein, and hell, even jacques around. And when whitley is rightfully angry at her about it, her response is to crack a joke at her own expense like heehee even I'm not that much of a drunk and I just-
I know that scene was meant to make me like willow but it literally did the opposite for me lmfao. She should have at least apologized.
One thing that I wish should happen with this character/has happened: I hope they don't pull a qrow on us and show willow just going cold turkey with alcohol esp after they drilled into us just how dependant she is on it. Like she's even lower functioning that qrow to the point where she was barely in her children's lives while they were being abused, so to have her just quite easily is just going to leave me thinking "so she could have quit like this anytime while her kids were suffering?" Not saying that that's what they're going to do, but just not something I want to see.

TBH dude, as much as it sucks to say but miles was right that it’d be boring for the audience to watch Yang’s recovery. Not for me, but my proof? There are a ton of people/‘critics’ that have called yang in v4 “mopey” and boring and shit along those lines. Now my guess it’s because it’s either: ppl that liked yang being this light hearted funny person or it’s the ppl that hated that the show moved past beacon
With how Miles writes?- Yes. It absolutely would have been boring because he read the cliff note of the cliff notes on how that works. As for the audience… I disagree. It’s not necessarily that Yang was suffering from PTSD, it was the fact that she was a woman suffering from PTSD. When it came to Tai still mourning the losses of his wives, everyone is quick to jump to his defense. Same with Jaune regarding Pyrrha. But oh no, heaven forbid a woman do the same thing for when they LOSE AN ARM! The audience should go fuck themselves if they just wanted to skip past that sort of stuff. This happened with LoK, and you want to know something?- All the effort and things Korra went through to get that mercury out wouldn’t have been worth it if we hadn’t seen her struggles. Korra’s recovery wouldn’t have had as much of an impact if we didn’t see her struggle, and so many fans missed that because they only wanted to see action.
This is about the audience. Yes, we would have had to deal with their insufferable attitude in that “YaNg WaSn’T gEtTiNg OvEr It!!1! GeT hEr BaCk To NoRmAl!!1!11″ When, no. There is no return to normal for her.
So if their excuse is that it would upset the audience if they actually showed the recovery process, then why the flying fuck did they upset the audience in regards to Sienna Khan’s death, Oscar’s journey, Pyrrha’s death, and all that other stuff?- They didn’t seem all too keen on not upsetting their audiences then.
GODDAMN every single fan who said that bullshit! And bless the ones who actually took that stuff seriously and made fan comics and fanfics of Yang’s recovery.
I just realized the worst part: Even the comics skipped over the recovery. I’d buy a Yang recovery comic. I’d buy a Yang recovery book. As long as it was written with actual research and had interviews with someone who actually did go through what Yang went through, I’d love that story for forever. It would be my favorite piece of merch that this show produced. But they didn’t do that because they only want to focus on the action. And then they followed up that volume by having a bunch of characters sitting in a house and talking.
I hate these writers. I hate so many of these fans.

I had a dream last night where in the next episode of RWBY Oscar was attacked forcing Oz to take control to protect them and that's how Ironwood discovered that the RWBY+ squad had been lying to him this whole time about Oz's supposed disappearance and the fallout was super dramatic. Then I went online and ppl were like "oh yeah maybe we shouldn't have lied to the adult trying to help us" so dream me was feeling hella vindicated only to wake up 😔
Just go back to sleep for a while. Practice lucid dreaming and enjoy it lol
I wouldn’t be surprised if we got that first part though. So far, across at least a couple of weeks in-world, Ozpin has only come out during a literal life or death situation. Not when Jaune was attacking him, not when Oscar was safe-ish on the airship fighting Cordovin, not when Ironwood is asking about him, etc. It’s only when they’re moments from crashing, there’s no one else to help Oscar, and he could legit die that Ozpin appears to save them---and then immediately pulls back.
And I would like to emphasize the them here. Ozpin’s life as an individual isn’t in danger. So much of the fandom claims that he’s still a coward, still a merciless man sacrificing child soldiers, etc. But if that’s the case... why not just let them crash? He can rationalize it that they might not die. Not with aura and all that. Even if they did, what’s it to him? Maria’s old and has lived her life. Ruby’s death would keep a SEW out of Salem’s hands. And Oscar expressed just a day or so ago that he hates the life he now leads. Why not spare him? Surely a quick death here is better than whatever waits for him as Ozpin’s host. He dies and Ozpin moves onto the next person, free to keep his identity quiet this time, free from this group, free to start anew in whatever way he pleases...
If all of this sounds horrific it’s because it is. It’s the sort of warped, sacrificial “logic” of someone who is truly only out for themselves and their plots. Ozpin had an opening there to let them reap the repercussions of their choices---you drove me away and now I won’t help you---but of course he doesn’t do that because that’s appalling to him. Right now Ozpin has two goals: make sure he doesn’t hurt anyone else with his presence (something they helped convinced him of) and make sure everyone, at the very least, doesn’t end up dead (and he got heat from Yang even for that). Ozpin is defined so largely by his selflessness that he’s reached a point where he’s literally just existing like a servant: I help you, but you’ve deemed my help to be detrimental, so I’ll only help when it’s completely necessary. Otherwise you won’t see me, hear me, won’t even know I’m there.
So yeah. Given that no one is coaxing him out of this “you’re the worst thing to ever happen to us” mindset, I bet the next time we see him will be another life or death situation. It’s the only thing Ozpin deems worth forcing the others to put up with his presence.

favorite thing about them: I adore all of her! I love how vulnerable she is and how brave she is and how kind and supportive and energetic she is!! Yang has incredible strengths and beautiful weaknesses and I love her for that more than anything
least favorite thing about them: not really a Yang problem but more of a FNDM problem lmao, in general she’s always lumped with another character to further their development instead of being seen as a unique character all on her own
