Jazz for Two is really hitting Boys over Flowers territory with the tsundere who is bullying and borders on abusive. I am kind of over this.
I want to like it because it has the cute assistant from To My Star in the lead and I really am enjoying his character but IDK, my impulse is to tell Se Heon to run away from Taeyi. It doesn't help that the second couple is even worse. I have been won over in similar plots, but I think it'a very hard to understand the pov of feeling like you can be a dick to absolutely everyone because of grief. It feels like it's used as a shortcut for pain and I need that earned if a character is going to treat other people that way. And there isn't a lot of screen time for this drama to really do that.
I'm ready for Korea to get out of school again. What happened to the office? We left it too soon.

Putting this out there because I haven't seen it, and I would like to.
Has anyone considered Asexual!Eddie Munson? I mean, beyond being theatrical and somewhat invasive of personal space, he doesn't say or do anything that implies sexual attraction. This isn't to say he doesn't have romantic attraction, but maybe sex isn't actually his thing?
I kind of like how that would work out with Steve, too. Like, here is a guy who keeps forging meaningless connections with women based on sex, and suddenly he forges this really deep connection with a guy, full of intimacy but the sex isn't necessary, you know?
It's likely a really unpopular take, but I've seen how much people sexualize Eddie for the way he looks, his style of dress, his interests, etc. and it made me realize that MY asexual ass went around in huge leather boots and bondage pants, and the sexual implications were the furthest thing from my mind. I liked what I liked, listened to what I listened to, and that was that. I definitely got labeled a "freak" and that I wasn't interested in anyone made that even more unusual, so I can kind of see how Eddie could fall into the same trap.

I sometimes come across fics where Yang needs to atone for things that happened in Volumes 7-9. Or fix it fics where she acts differently and doesn't do those things. I do understand why people choose to write things like these. And it is the beauty of fanfic to write whatever you want. I'm not saying it's wrong to write this, or to enjoy reading it. Opinions vary and that's fine, it leads to more variety in what fic is written. 'Don't like; don't read' is something that used to be treated like a rule, and it'd be healthier for fandoms in general if it was again.
I also think it's entirely in character for Yang to apologise to Ruby for things like:
Not telling her that she and Blake told Robyn Hill about the Amity project instead of capturing her when they had a chance, which did mean Ruby heard about it at the same time as Ironwood.
And for what she said to Ruby at the start of Volume 8, expressing doubt in her choices, and deciding to help people in Mantle instead of following Ruby and getting a message out to the world.
And for missing how bad things were for Ruby in the hours/days before Ruby had her breakdown in Volume 9.
These I can see Yang apologising for. I can see that she might want to. However, in my possibly unpopular opinion: I don't think she actually needs to.
When it comes to the thing about telling Robyn, I think Yang probably didn't have a chance to tell Ruby without the risk of being overheard. That or by the time she did, events unfolding distracted her.
In Volume 8, Yang and Ruby disagree. But going by the way they hug when reunited, I get the feeling that's far from the first time they've disagreed about something. And no matter the disagreement, it doesn't affect their bond as sisters.
Now, Volume 9. I have no doubt Yang would kick herself for not realising how bad things were getting for Ruby. She knew something was wrong, she checked in with Ruby more than once. But she couldn't force Ruby to open up when she didn't want to.
There's also how Yang reacts when Ruby drinks the tea. Maybe she should have knocked that cup out of Ruby's hands, but I have my doubts Yang knew exactly what was going on. Yang's reaction after that is very much frozen in shock. This isn't the first time Yang has frozen up. It happened when the Hound spoke when it took Oscar. In a related way, Yang also shut down for a while after losing her arm (and after Blake left).
Yang's a complicated person, and her flaws are part of her. She makes mistakes. I might not agree with everything she does, but I'd rather she does make those mistakes than have her be perfect and flawless. I mean, I think Yang's awesome and perfect with her imperfections. Maybe even partly because of them.

Possibly Unpopular Opinion (911; Spoilers for 7x04)
*Edited- less of a knee jerk reaction I’ve seen the “Buck is bisexual” storyline coming for a while, but I’m conflicted with how the episode handled all of it. It’s not even because of it being something other than Buddie. I’m bothered by the so called “jealousy” resulting in Buck physically hurting his best friend! I’m very glad Maddie at least called him out. I also get that Buck and Eddie are probably going to talk next episode, but I’m worried that most of it’s going to happen off screen or it’s going to be brushed aside quickly. I just wish that something else had been the catalyst for Tommy or Buck realizing that there might be feelings there. Parts of the fandom vilified Eddie for the stupid lawsuit-arc, when all he used to hurt Buck were words. Parts of the fandom crucified Chim for “bullying” Buck, and then wrote vile hate fics for him after the punch. And those sentiments haven’t even completely gone away. But Buck tends to be forgiven anything, like with the cheating storyline, because the “poor baby” is so confused. I just wish the show had done this a bit differently.

Saw someone compare Sam Coe in starfield to garrus in mass effect, and I have to disagree. I like sam, while garrus has always annoyed the hell out of me. Like, garrus was a bad-ass cop on the citadel, and then a highly sucessful vigilante. why the hell is he constantly seeking my male-shep's approval as if I'm his dad?

to all of you dissing cure wing (not just nicely saying you're not interested in the season, but actively insulting the character before he releases and saying that precure should be a "female space"): do y'all not realize you sound at best like angry marvel fanboys every time a female hero comes out and at worst...just kinda terfy?

My Two Cents on the Joker: My Love/Hate relationship with the Clown Prince of Crime
I think something we tend to forget in fandom is that you can like or dislike a character without liking or disliking everything about them. Before anything else said, I want to make this clear as crystal. This is my opinion. I am not saying it is right or that you have to agree. No one has to agree with me. All I ask is that you hear me out, acknowledge my opinion, and if you don't like it, agree to disagree. I fully respect the opinions of those who dislike/hate this character. Okay, let's talk about this frikkin' clown.
Tumblr media
It is absolutely no surprise, to me or to anyone, that a lot of people LOATHE the Joker. And with good reason. He is a monster. In nearly every continuity he's in, he's done terrible things. He killed Jason Todd, paralyzed Barbara Gordon, abused and manipulated Harley, tormented and experimented on Tim Drake, turned Superman into a dictator, the list goes on. I understand why people hate him. Their reasons are valid, especially if they relate to his victims.
I myself have a love/hate relationship with the Joker.
Here's what I love about the Joker:
I love that he's Batman's opposite, a bright, loud, colorful clown.
I love that when written right, he can be scary AND funny.
I love his overall classic design. Purple suit, bow-tie, green hair, red lips, etc.
I love that he's deadly, as any Batman villain ought to be.
I love his genius-level intellect. Though, arguably, all the great Batman villains have that.
I love his weapons. Joker venom, acid-squirting flowers, ninja-star playing cards, etc.
I love the whole "Joker card as a calling card" shtick. To me, that never gets old.
I love how ruthless he is. Some of the best villains are ruthless.
I love his whole "agent of chaos" shtick.
I love the idea that he's a deadly maniac hiding behind the humorous image of a clown.
I love the fact that he's anti-nazi. Good to see he has some sort of standards, at least in one or two continuities.
I love his obsession with Batman and their rivalry.
Now here's what I hate about the Joker.
I hate that he has zero respect for anyone other than himself, or even if he does respect them, it's only as a means to an end. At the very least, he ought to have more respect for his allies.
I hate how he serves as a bad representation of mental health. I will not sugarcoat it or give it a pass. I have my own share of mental illnesses, so him serving as an example of the mentally ill? Terrible.
I hate the whole "Life's a Joke and only I know the punchline" shtick.
I hate the way he treated Harley. It was wrong then and it's wrong now. There's no hiding it, or excusing it.
I hate the growing amount of "edginess" the character has been given. He's a clown villain. At least half of his crimes should be nonsensical fun.
I hate how he treats the younger members of the Bat-Family. I know they're his enemies, but still.
I will never condone the Joker's actions, nor the actions of any villain. And again, I fully understand and acknowledge that my enjoyment of the Joker as a villain is unpopular. But I feel like I should be honest. At the end of the day, the Joker is one of my favorite villains. Do I like everything about him? No. But I don't have to.

I like Earth.
Yes, Moon trying to explain his relationship with Monty and his identity to her was cringe, but she's not aphobic, and they were perfectly fine when Monty told her their pronouns. I just hope she can keep her sweetness when she learns about just how weird and messed up this family dynamicreally is.
Also, Moon just met Earth and he's already protective of her, that's really sweet. He's come a long way from what we saw of him in Security Breach.

Genuinely curious, is anyone actually excited about this whole "three men and a baby" thing EE seems to be forcing? Because I'm honestly sick of it and it's barely even started, like I think they're going for the quirky blended family angle, and I understand they're doing what they need to to further the plot, but I just see a gay couple who, after years, still aren't allowed to live alone together, or raise their child without a straight person being involved, and I also feel like Lexi's having a lot of pressure unintentionally put on her shoulders in terms of Jay's mental health, I'm just seriously not into any of this right now and can't wait for this part of the sl to be over.

unpopular music opinion: born to die is actually good, lucy loone isnt a melanie martinez dupe, and death cab for cutie is ass
1. I'm not a Lana fan (I assume you're referring to her song), but Born To Die is such a bop.
2. I don't know who Lucy Loone is, but I'll take your word on them.
3. I've only heard that 'cute without the e' song by Death Cab for Cutie and its trash. I'm just not into that kind of music, though.

Possibly unpopular opinion that I have been thinking about for about two days now, as The Watchmen animated movie has been announced for next year, I think it won't have such a punch Watchmen should have, at least for todays audiences because the comics is heavily set in the late 80s and is about the comics and politics of the late 80s, even the ending in the original comics has been based on the fears of the 80s.
While it talks about "what if real people put on masks and became superheroes" it still is based on stuff from that time, stuff alot of people (especialy casual audiences) won't get because they either weren't alive or were very young during the time Watchmen came out.
I think that if Watchmen should have the same effect on people it had in the 80s, it would have to be changed to work with the current state of comics and politics, whitch kinda... that's what The Boys show is doing.
Maybe i am wrong on this one, and that's fine, i'd love to hear yours opinions, especialy from Watchmen comics fans, as while i like the comics, it isn't really something i would call myself a fan of (partly because i just don't like the "superheroes in real life would be violent evil assholes" mindset because i believe people CAN be good and there's alot of them that ARE good).

I am so sick of sexual assault being part of a characters growth as a plot point in books and media.
It doesn't make people grow, it traumatizes them. It fucks up peoples lives in so many ways, I can say that from personal experience.
I understand the need to show representation and to normalize discussing the issue, but when it's done in the way that is just to serve as a growth point in a characters life or to make people feel sympathy for an unlikeable character, fuck off with that shit.
