I just realized I independently decided both Maverick & his mother don't use nicknames for people (much) but their love interests do. that was an accident. but it's kindof funny NGL. Like Elaine calls people by their full names & titles all the time bc idk she's weird. For Maverick it's a sort of im-trying-not-to-forget-your-name tactic. Meanwhile Mizrieta like exclusively calls people nicknames (Elaine is most often "Laney" or even "laney-kins") and Reo calls people nicknames pretty often including having Mavericks contact on his phone as "Ricky Dearest" and calling the Facestealer "bossy boots"
