Growth is not
a straight line
nor is it a
fault line.
Growth is
a semicolon
placed where an
ellipsis
once slept.

the stream ( participate, reciprocate )
* you got or get to participate,
toe or full immersion in the stream
more aptly - the river, the ocean, hell - tsunami of thisness
since the Bang.
if we could only grasp the thread, the lifeline
by our best efforts but once & not let go
then, the stream reciprocates,
& you get to wade forever* * 3/24 - lebuc - the stream ( participate, reciprocate ) *...so i've been told

i have a pale green typewriter i want to bring to the park, i will find shade and sit with my legs crossed and the keys crossing, i will watch people cross my patch of grass, and i will offer in Chinese to write them a poem in English. just give me 3 words, any 3 words, you can wait in the sun or the shadow, I will study you, write a portrait of you, imagine what it's like to fall in love with you, to picture how you groom hair, face, legs, how you talk when furious about strangers and the heat. we will see.

A perfect bond
A perfect bond does not mean you will not disagree or hurt each other. That is inevitable because human nature is flawed. Both come into a bond with histories, scars, wounds, different needs, and worldviews. But to have a perfect bond is to have one that has three ribbons knit as one. The first one is trust. Unshakable trust in what each one is, faith in each other's heart, to have peace no matter the storm for you know who you love. The second one is respect. Respect for each other's time, opinions, and decisions. Respect for the person they are, for respect is acceptance of each of your individualities even in the face of disagreement. And the center, at the core, is love. For love is a balm that soothes, a bridge that breaches impossible chasms, a river that brings us to each other. It is a beautiful symbiosis for love is a wellspring for respect and trust, and they in turn add depth and strength to love. This is our bond, beloved mine, a perfect bond of soul and heart. A bond that blesses and nourishes us while giving us freedom, and a safe place to be fully ourselves. A perfect bond that will last a lifetime.

Brown eyes that mirror thoughts; eyes that round up when intriqued, eyes that close to almost a slit when playful, eyes that sparkle with mischief even before the words come out of her mouth.
I play along when she has a joke in mind, she doesn't know her eyes are giving it all away. The way her lips curl up and the way her nose crinkles, the way her voice carries her intent- light and full of laughter. She doesn't know i've spent years learning her and can read her through and through.
Here she comes, those coffee powder eyes with twinkling lights beneath it. Here she comes and starts with "Hey have you heard. . ?" Here she comes and there's happiness in my blood, it's going all around.

new vision
between grandchildren’s fingers
and the dogs’ happy tongues
my glasses are often smudged
leaving little difference
in wearing them or lying
forgotten on the bedside table

daycap of Winter sits crowned cloudless
unarranged
everything that I am now appears in stillness of
foresight
as January embers heave weight to February’s
insouciant
Aire of light, uncommon celestial angles made ecliptic and
wary
in the slanted wisps of our candor, sing to us
terrestrial
like the tail of a comet, its coma shouldered alluvial like
silted
light flows downstream, fertile - and stars birthed
form
an entablature, the frieze and valance of its glow in your eyes

Triolet Poem #30
I heard it takes two to tango. You'll see me moving to the beat. I'm an offensive commando. I heard it takes two to tango. It's a firefight 'til one stands though. Instead we're grooving in the heat. I heard it takes two to tango. You'll see me moving to the beat.

There is a
scar that
lights my way.
Stumbling over
the bodies of
expired selves, I
drink home from
a plastic flask
and salivate
for the
bitter cure.

in event of an emergency
* in the event of an emergency we'll proceed as always:
those whose calendar is full will strive to keep their appointments
those who've cleared theirs will seek to preserve that precious space.
for what constitutes an emergency
& what's just simply emergent blurs with the medium chosen
to view from the span of our circle of concern;
because massaged media makes mincemeat out of mountains,
meteors from mouse-sized mentation & motions;
it lays waste in haste of the way we'd place our attention
not to mention the notion & pace of the great paper race, it seems.
even seeping into our wildest dreams while we chase the elusive, & flee from the dreaded, the abusive - controlling when & where we're headed in a milieu wholly of our own making;
only to awaken, stirred & shaken slipping into a twilight zone
of the othered unknown. * 1/24 - lebuc - in event of an emergency

One day you will realize, it's not fate or luck that got you here but the choices you've made, the habits you've formed, the thoughts you've run in your head.

I have decided to be happy today, and let nothing disturb the beauty that blossoms in my soul at the sight of the sky and the flowers that sing of vibrant life. Why let woes and worries, regret and sorrow, dampen my spirit when the soul is made to fly?

Tomorrow
transcript under the cut
Tomorrow I turn 29 without you.
Like I turned 28 without you.
Like I turned 27 without you.
Like
the years passed us by, always
a 'see you later', but never
a 'goodbye'. Until it was. Until
something changed, and
it was something I missed. Something
that grew and grew inside you
for all those years we shared and
all those years we didn't, and
my love, my friend, that thing
will grow in me now, forever.
It won't go away. But I'll keep it,
gladly, for you. Gladly.
Tomorrow I turn 29 without you.
I'll turn 30 without you.
40 without you.
50 without you.
And there you'll be,
all the same, as
the last time we said
'see you later'.
