Poem: Check-list of wrongs

In a crowded home, bodies shifting round,

I stand still, lost, no light to be found.

They see my faults, judging every move,

Blurry vision, uncertain how to prove.

I try my best, but nothing seems right,

Their expectations, a never-ending fight.

As they walk by, their eyes feel like a stare,

Judged and questioned, burdened with care.

I tell myself, it's all in my head,

Ignore the noise, move on, it's said.

When I finally move, my heart feels so heavy,

Legs like cement, each step unsteady.

Thoughts weigh me down, a useless part,

In this house of bodies, I feel apart.

Only for a moment.

To anyone who hasn’t been settling too well — especially writers from ello — may I suggest a better space to which I have found more than appealing to readers & writers etc —

I used to use an app called Poetizer until they asked for subscription & we (all of the writers literally) have migrated to Writco

.

There’s subscription but not a forced one.

It’s up to you —

But i found it has the capacity to see who reads it who likes it & who actually interacts & truly intellectually interested — ofc not all but most writers I’ve encountered have been amazing so

Feel free to go to it —

You can still find me there also under @forlornalbatross

Otherwise— please be soft & gentle with yourself — because in rarity & realistically speaking no one else will 💝✊🏽

Guard your memory

Within my dark reserve

A memory preserved

An irrevocable allocation

A guarded containment

The world cannot corrupt

This image cannot be touched

Safe forever in my mind

Like a picture of a better time

Here you shall live on

And stay forever young

Before our souls were vitiated

And our hearts were tainted

When your smile was sincere

Unabated from all these years

You will live on within me

So in rest, may you find peace

Know that I will not remember

What the world made you into

I will only ever reminisce

On who you were back when

Like a stasis you’ll be in

I will evoke you memory fondly

Until my end.

Longing...

I find myself longing to be

Someone of value,

Someone who can warm

The cold spaces in your heart,

Heal the hurt that's been placed there.

I long to be the one to love you,

With my all,

With no regrets,

And with no restraints.

To show you that

Love is possible,

And You Can Trust Me.

But you do not look my way,

Nor do you think of me that way.

At the least, I am just a friend,

At best, I am your confidant,

Someone you feel comfortable enough

To open up to,

But no further.

I long to love you

Crezco, pienso y me desvanezco, ya no sé donde entro en todo esto. Si la gente desaparece, y el mundo florece, tal vez nada de esto nos pertenece. Tirada en la cama, pensando en la nada, ya no me siento nada sensata. Todo se siente un caos, no quiero leer, quiero desaparecer pero nada de esto me detiene a crecer. Los días se pasan, las horas arrasan y comienzo a perder la calma. Sólo estoy sentada, mirando a la nada con la almohada en medio de la cara.
