Mogiła

After the January Uprising in 1863 many dead insurgents where buried in mass graves near the battle site, often in the forest. There is one such mass grave near my village in Eastern Podlasie, and after hiking through the woods for an hour I ended up drawing a woman in local folk costume on the same hike i had just completed, visiting that very grave. also heavily inspired by Nad Niemnem, forever obsessed.
