What's your favourite scene ever from any book or series and why?

it’s that scene in lady bird where she buys cigarettes and a playboy magazine simply because she’s 18 and she can — and then stands outside the store all by herself smoking and flipping through the magazine. i think it’s a lovely scene and i love the light in.

also, a honourable mention for the scene from piku where she’s reached kolkata and is just pressing her head against the bars and looking out of the window at the kid playing outside.
