Quando ha letto per la prima volta l'annuncio dove propongono il corso aveva soltanto undici anni, ma ricorda benissimo di aver pensato che sarebbero passati 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘪 prima che fosse il suo turno, eppure... Eppure, cazzo, i secoli erano davvero passati ma in un batter d'occhio, e a guardarli così, in un unico insieme, le sembra quasi impossibile di aver trascorso ben sei anni al castello: curiosa, davvero curiosa la percezione del tempo in base agli eventi, al momento in cui osserviamo un determinato fatto, all'emotività. Apre gli occhi, individua subito la giovane donna e fa un inchino, troppo emozionata a causa della riuscita per trattenersi. A.I. Void Ship (The A.I. Series #6) – Vaughn Heppner

Through desperate tactics and by deliberately keeping a low profile, we survived the machine assaults longer than any human or cybership thought possible. But now our luck has deserted us. The main A.I. brain-core has just given human extinction top priority. The robots are massing an armada to exterminate us.
