did anyone ever explain to hazel that the US has anti segregation laws now? I mean, the girl went straight from the 1940s to the underworld to camp jupiter, does she know she can use any bathroom she wants or is she still looking for white and colored signs?

also, it's been a while since I read the books, so I'm not sure on the timeline, but does nico know about obergefell v. hodges? does he know he and will can legally be married?

actually, what does hazel know about recent women's history in america? does she know she can tell men to fuck off and not be arrested? did anyone tell her her employer has to provide equal pay (assuming she ever decides to venture into the mortal world)? does she know about roe v. wade and contraceptive laws??

does nico know about the immigrant and nationality act (is nico a legal immigrant? is he considered an immigrant at all? did hades somehow fast track nico and bianca's citizenship or did he just create fake birth certificates and social security cards? i feel like he'd have had to do one of those for them to go to that school)

do they know that they're considered protected classes?

do they know their rights??

Details about the DGSH AU I'm not quiiite sure I'll ever touch upon much but are very dear to me!

- Nico di Angelo played both sides of the Titan War. Not necessarily because he agreed with everything they were doing, but because he became strong friends ("Aqcuaintances, Jackson, get it right") with Ethan Nakamura in the Labrynth and had to at least hear him out

- Wade Wilson met Peter Parker during an undercover mission Peter was doing to locate King Pin's funding locations. They had a fight that ended with Wade holding Peter in place with one arm and calling Stark to pick him up with the other

- Leo Valdez taught Piper McLean morse code! They gossip together using it

- The designs I had in mind for most of the Percy Jackson characters will be a mix of the book and show! I'll maybe have designs out soon depending on my art confidence.

- Peter and Nico were actually vaguely friends before Peter and Percy met. Nico just knew Peter as Spider-Man as they met on patrol, it's why Nico paraphrased the whole "With great power" thing in.. uh... The Blood Of Olympus u think. Nico is also the friend referred to as 'Neo' in "Don't Let This Become A Thing"

- Rachel Dare went to Midtown for a year or so before getting pulled out. She punched Flash Thompson once for bullying Peter and Ned Leeds

Maybe I'm looking too deep into it but I'm not comfortable at all with Wade talking about how he touched Stephen's ass. Like "haha funny, a queer character sexually assaulting someone and it's okay because it's Deadpool and he's never serious". 🙄

Unfortunately, this is not new coming from either Deadpool or Benjamin Percy. Solem's bisexuality in Percy's Wolverine was majorly portrayed as predatory, and we needed Al Ewing to fix that. On top of that, Marvel never hid the fact that Wade's pansexuality is more of a joke (as most of his characterization in general). As a panromantic enby myself, I'm always looking for good rep in comics, that's why I'm not interested in Deadpool most of the time (Alyssa Wong's Deadpool being an exception, their run is amazing in this regading, which is not surprising since they're also enby and write this aspect of Wade with actual respect). But it gets harder to look away when it's about Stephen. Whether it's a joke or not, we need to stop normalizing this kind of humor because "they're men so it's okay". It's not. We're always advocating for minorities' rights so it's essential we do not forget that men are also victims of SA.

Anyway, Stephen appears in the book but I'm not in the mood to highlight his presence after reading this.

So in the spirit of the Percy Jackson show on Disney plus, I've been reading a lot of marvel x pjo fics and it got me thinking: what weapons would the marvel characters use?

Tony Stark - imperial gold armor

He's rich enough to afford it and it works better with his red and gold color scheme

Steve Rogers - celestial bronze shield

this one is pretty self-explanatory

Peter Parker - celestial bronze garrote

Figured a string/wire weapon would be fitting

Wade Wilson - hoards the weapons of the people he beat

Bruce banner - war hammer

He can only use it when he hulks out, think Escanor from 7 deadly sins

T'achalla - talon gauntlet

Don't know what else to give him
