batfamily as members of the madrigals? (ages do not matter here for reasons)

so abuela is bruce, do i need to explain? i don't think i do but, judgmental expectations. also. bruce. he runs the show, yeah.

one might say that luisa is dick, but dick is much more of a peppa for me. all the emotions he HAS to keep in check and serving as emotional backup. (AND WHEN HE GETS MAD, HE GETS MAD)

julietta is for sure alfred, I'm not explaining.

jason is bruno, bc for a long while we didn't really talked about bruno nor jason

duke is antonio, even though his gift is more damian-inclined, his disposition fits better with the baby of the family, also he being new into the fold.

isabella is damian, he is REALLY trying to be perfect in every way but you can see that it doesn't really work for him, also the INSECURITIES

babs is dolores, bc she hears everything.

cass is for sure camilo, it's just the personality the SHEER "im calling bullshit" all over camilo's face every second.

i think luisa is in fact tim. i shall not elaborate, but his red robin run is there for it. dick for sure has eldest daughter syndrome, but tim has "fix-the-family middle child", he is the one who puts it all back together every time it breaks

steph might be actually mirabel, bc she is the only one of them that started away from the bat (babs started independently but she was pretty much batgirl from second one), and such is the "outsider"

Encanto - Healing Generational Trauma

Encanto is a disney animated film directed by Byron Howard and Jared Bush. Starring a cast of colorful characters, we follow Mirabel Madrigal's struggles as she tries to fit into her "magical" family.

The movie hits very deep from the start. Mirabel is the only one without a "gift", all her family seems to be "perfect", working seamlessly for their community. All, except her... She feels inadequate and even though she tries, her lack of "gift" is seen as a failure in her family.

Coping with generational trauma...

The musical number starting the movie explains a lot about the family and their dynamic. About how each of the members of the family have "gifts" that just translate to real life coping mechanism.

Julieta: The healer of the family

Peppa: Controlling the weather

Bruno: Seeing the future

The first generation have a different set of difficulties, mostly being forced to parent (Julietta), handle everyone's emotions and their own at the same time (Peppa) and being neurodivergent (Bruno)

Isabella: Perfection

Luisa: Strength

Mirabel: None

Julietta's three children are there, again, shown as trying to "fix" themselves for the family. Isabella has to be perfect, and Luisa has to be strong. Their gift complements their role of shouldering the needs of the entire family on their back. Mirabel is like Bruno, different, she doesn't have a gift but she's trying. Trying really hard to fix and please even though she can't.

Dolores: Super Hearing

Camilo: Shape-Shifting

Antonio: ??? (Spoilers)

The children of the second born, Peppa, represent the present. Their mother can't control her emotions so their gift adapted to that. Dolores can "hear everything" including the storm of her mother's emotion. Camilo can shape-shift, mirroring people. He shows people someone different to please.

The symbolics of a family breaking apart

The main plot point of the movie is the magic being in danger. The house, the gifts, everything is breaking apart and Mirabel is trying to fix it. She sees all the problems and the hidden issues in the family but no one listens. She's forgotten and left to figure it out as her world is clashing with itself.

Healing...

The movie gives us a few clues on how to heal from generational trauma in it's last scenes. I won't spoil them because I feel like the messages needs to be told by people we can relate to.

TL;DR: Sometimes, we have to learn to let go...

Time for more Purple Man and his Wife and they love each other and the fact they're such different sizes and they like cuddling and are very much in love. Of course, living with a soon-to-be serial killer isn't perfect, but the only reason I can think of someone so evil having three kids that he hates is if he loved his wife. Plus, we know nothing about their actual dynamic, meaning I can ship them however I like. Not to mention that villains in love is one of my favourite tropes <3

We also know nothing about what Wife looks like, so I just drew her with four different colour pallets. TBH I'm leaning towards the yellow, and maybe red hair, but she looked too much like Peppa Madrigal from Encanto. Obviously, the blonde/pink was supposed to look like Elizabeth. I know the common take for Wife is either red or blonde hair, but I wanted to mess around with dark hair for experimentation's sake. Gave her curly hair bc C.C. and Mike have curly hair, and I wanted her to have brighter, softer coloured clothes then Purple Guy.

Speaking of Purple Guy, his shirt is so much lighter in the top left bc he's a bit younger there and I think it'd be cool if he started with a lavender colour an then shifted to a darker, more vibrant violet as he got more corrupted. Dave is in an almost muddy brownish purple to show he's both more violent then his pre-murder self, but also make the similarities in colour less obvious.

IDK why Dave is even there, I just really wanted to draw Dave and have him leaning on her and being awkward. I hc he got grey streaks in his hair after surviving the spring-locks bc the stress of recovery was too much, and I guess I wanted the chance to draw him and his pre-murder self on the same sheet to show how much he changed. I do like drawing William w/ greys (bc he's a dilf lol) but this time I guess I didn't. Maybe this is a timeline where he only goes grey after Wife dies?

IDK I'm just having fun designing them

I also hc that Wife likes to sleep on William bc he's so friend shaped, and he finds it adorable. Unfortunately, he's also evil and has no problem pushing her off when he wants to get up.

Bruno and The Theif

“Is it really necessary to have a fiesta a day after Antonio’s Birthday Surprise?” Bruno asked his two sisters as he walked alongside them.

“Of course! Anything for my corazon, Antonio!” Peppa beamed excitedly.

Julieta smiled, “Don’t worry, Brunito. We just need some food from the grocery store, and we’ll be on our way.” Julieta patted Bruno on the back.

As they entered the store, Julieta passed Bruno and Pepa a list and the three split up. Bruno stood near the fruit section when a woman in a dark hood looked over slightly, her face hidden.

“So your the legendary ‘Bruno Madrigal’ huh? I’ve heard plenty about you.”

Bruno chuckled nervously, “A lot of people have.”

The lady takes a singular apple and walks with Bruno to the register to pay for his items. The hooded lady goes first and places down a singular app down. The manager immediately seems scared. Suddenly the lady booked it out of the store, fruits and such others necessities fell out. Bruno dropped his stuff and chased after her, not ever losing sight of her. Eventually, he catches up with her and grabs her by her wrist. Her hood fell back onto her shoulders. They make eye contact. Her eyes are a nostalgic baby blue and her skin was tan.

“Please don’t turn me in..” She whispered.

Bruno looked her up and down, noticing the bruises and dirt that covered her body and hood. Bruno slowly let her go and she ran.

Peps and Julieta come towards him to congratulate him for getting so close to catching her. But Bruno didn’t listen as he looked at thief who felt so familiar.
