one of the funniest parts of the Muppets Mayhem show is how they handled Dr. Teeth

his name is a combo of the IRL musician Dr. John and the fact that he was the first Muppet to have been designed with teeth. at one point in the original Muppet Show he loosely implies that "teeth" is slang for money. the gold tooth also fits into that idea, with him claiming during some talk shows that it was melted down from his own gold records

but the Muppets Mayhem look one look at him and was like. "hmm. his full name is Gerald Teeth, Jr, D.D.S and he's a Former Dentist and the gold tooth is made from a gold floss case" which is the funniest possible answer they could've come up with I think
