My brother added on to my prediction with his own prediction: In the season finale, Steve will be a badass and save the day
But that like actually has merit. Cause in Old Oak Doors, Steve was the one that pushed Kevin into the DOW for saying he could "fix" Janice. He kinda single-handedly saved the day right there
So, June 15th 2024, Steve will do another badass heroic thing

WTNV quick rundown - 107 - The Missing Sky
Featuring Desiree Burch as Pamela Winchell.
Read the rest here!
The best strategy for a labyrinth is to put one hand on a wall and follow that hand around until you reach the exit. The second best strategy is screaming. Welcome to Night Vale.
There is a faint popping as well as the sound of singing coming from underground (as well as breaks in reality continuing). Carlos, Luisa and Nilanjana are investigating and figure out that the popping is fireworks and the singing is the voice of a parade coming from the tiny city under Lane 5. They are celebrating the Great Weeks of Memorial to commemorate the 'attack' on their city and years of fruitless war which followed.
It turns out that the tiny city under Lane 5, which has given up it's attempt at war, is actually a miniture version of Night Vale. It has it's own Cecil and several familiar residents but does not appear to experience any of the supernatural or strange elements the larger NV has. It is however, completely isolated from the rest of the world due to being trapped under Lane 5 which is not their natural state of being.
Tiny Cecil recounts the day Carlos stepped into the hole as a terrible and dark day.
Noted differences between NV and Tiny NV include: Josie died several years ago and she and Cecil were not close, Erika is a woman with an angel tattoo who was living with Josie, John Peters was a war hero and lived/worked with Jim Peters, Leann Hart was an intelligence officer, Steve and Cecil were best friends (before Steve died in the war) and the lines and grids that Steve could see where the floorboards of lane 5, city council is made up of actual people including Harriet Ramon and Benjamin Gold, there is constant rolling thunder (the bowling balls), this Cecil has never met a scientist, the weather is reported as actual weather, they worship Huntokarr and believe she is punishing them by cutting them off.
Although he talks of Carlos as some kind of God which caused everyone great pain and terror, the Tiny Cecil also finds Carlos beautiful, talking about his rich brown eyes and perfect hair and teeth.
Weather: "The Ends and the Means" by Robby Hecht
Regular Cecil is worried about Carlos being near Lane 5 again and leaves his show to go and offer moral support.
Stay tuned next for one of our most popular shows, Janelle Duarte’s advice show, Hey Janelle, What Did I Personally Do To Contribute to Huntokar’s Anger Against Us? And under whatever starless, moonless sky it is we have lived under since the day of the change, good night, Night Vale. Good night.
Proverb: "Top of the morning to you. The rest of the day to me. I never said this was fair."

Nothing quite like listening to the first half of Parade Day, believing with my whole heart that the entire town will join Tamika and the children in the fight against the evil capitalistic corporation that is taking over Night Vale, it cutting to one of the Absolute Best Weathers in wtnv and getting even more hyped only for Cecil to come back and say not a single citizen joined them, they just... watched. Watched as the children fought bravely and were taken away by StrexCorp.

it’s been 8 fucking years since wtnv episodes 49A and 49B Old Oak Doors came out but there’s still some extremely raw quotes from both that episode (and episode 46 Parade Day) that make me fucking cry and also make me feel a little better about living as a mortal being in this hell of capitalist decay just as much or even more so than they did 8 years ago and while we should and do talk about the gay rep nd the wide variety of other rep in night vale i think the real, rawest reason why wtnv is one of my favorite stories on earth even as it’s ongoing, and especially why the strex arc hits so hard, is that it says outright, yes, life is scary and yes, life hurts, and yes, all of this is temporary and yes, even despite all the pain and fear of life, the fact that the end of it is inevitable is TERRIFYING, but there is still beauty in that. “be proud of your place in the cosmos. it is small, and yet it is. how unlikely.” how can you hear that and not cry like a fucking baby about it? if you think that the point of wtnv is just merging horror and comedy in the magical realism style that it does, and “pretending that’s the epitome of horror” rather than recognising that it’s fucking satire, then you are not listening. wtnv is about the tragedy and beauty of the human experience. it’s also about being gay in the desert and making fun of the state of the USA, but it’s mostly about how terrifying and beautiful and painful and precious life is, and it’s about the beauty of a community of people who truly care for each other. honestly, how can you actually listen to even just the first 2-3 years of this podcast and miss that? it basically smacks you in the face every few episodes, ffs

Literally… WTNV was the first podcast I listened to. Downloaded on the podcast app of my iPod. Celios was one of the first times I had ever heard someone speak so softly about someone of the same gender. The perfect hair… the perfect teeth… my only other exposure to a queer relationship at that point had been Willow and Tara from Buffy the vampire slayer. Every tender Celios moment. Every phone call. It changed me.
exactly!! i started listening right after glow cloud came out. i remember loading episodes onto my ipod nano... it didn't host apps, but i'd put downloaded mp3 episodes of wtnv on it to listen to.
im not exaggerating when i say that wtnv has had a greater impact on me than any other media i've consumed - i was 12 when it came out, and i came out myself soon after. it was the one of the first (if not actually the first....hmm.) examples of explicitly (yet still positive!) queer representation in media i'd consumed. it changed my standards for how we should be treated (especially since i was in that whole superwholock thing... which was messy to say the least)
i mean, hell, i work at a radio station now. i am currently in the station (taking a break from paperwork) and i would have never been here if not for wtnv. it was such a magical show that made me love surreal horror and radio, but also changed my perspective on the world. in addition to the queer relationships, wtnv was the first place i'd ever heard a character use they/them pronouns. i'd come out as non-binary and had been using they/them pronouns for a bit over a year, and i remember listening to "a new sheriff in town" and hearing cecil use "they" in reference to sam and i literally froze and sat down to rewind the episode. it's just been so transformative and it breaks my heart when people don't see it as such
EDIT: wait im not done. i also want to respond to you saying it was the first time you'd seen queer love spoken about so softly and you're so RIGHT. and i feel like the show's perspective on life and the world is inherently queer and inherently optimistic, which is so refreshing. wtnv has some of my favorite quotes and exchanges in the world, and some of them include:
"Perfection isn’t real. Perfection isn’t human. And Carlos is not perfect, no. Even better — he is imperfect.
Everything about him, and us, and all of this, is…it’s imperfect! And those imperfections in our reality are the seams and the cracks into which our out-sized love can seep and pool. And sometimes we are annoyed, and disappointed, and that too is a part of how love works."
- Cecil talking about Carlos in "Condos" (also Carlos' long monologue preceding this)
"‘What’s the point?’ you ask. ’Why bother?’ you say. ’Oh, Cecil,’ you cry. ’Oh, Cecil.’ But then you remember - I remember! - that we are even now in another bit of molten wax. We are in a moment that is still falling, still volatile, and we will never be anywhere else. We will always be in that most dangerous, most exciting, most possible time of all: the Now. Where we never can know what shape the next moment will take. Stay tuned next for, well, let’s just find out together, shall we?"
- Cecil in A Memory of Europe
"...but no family member is perfect, they become perfect when you learn to accept them for what they are."
- Young Cecil in Cassette
"Are we living a life that is safe from harm? Of course not. We never are. But that’s not the right question. The question is ‘are we living a life that is worth the harm?"
- Cecil in Parade Day
"Listeners, I do not know everything about Carlos and he does not tell me everything. That is OK. We are not one person. How lonely that would be! A couple who has made themselves one so completely, that they are once again alone. We are two people, separate. Unique. And joined only where we choose to join."
- Cecil in The University of What It Is
"Everything is exciting! Particularly existence. Existence is the most thrilling fact of all."
- Cecil in Condos (okay let's just put all of Condos on this list, tbh)
and THIS is my absolute favorite exchange in the entire show:
Carlos: But I do know two things.
Cecil: What is that?
Carlos: I love you.
Cecil: I love you, too. What’s the other thing?
Carlos: You just said it.
