I made a Stanley Parable Inktober prompt list!! >< It is free to use, and remember that it's totally alright to take more breaks than those that are already in! It's all about having fun ><
I recommend using the tag #paratober or #parabletober (you can also add the year if you want :)) when posting a drawing of a prompt, to identify them better!

Stanley…
Day One Prompt: Stanley
Stanley considers his name.
Ao3
Stanley worked for a company in a big building where he was employee four hundred and twenty seven. At first sight Stanley is like any other man you could see. He is the guy you meet in the street because he dropped his change and you help him pick it all up. No the change isn't vintage coins, the coins also didn’t tumble out of his pocket declaring him strange for lack of a wallet. The coins simply fell out of a leather wallet that every man his age seems to own and none of them are sure where they got it from.
“Sorry,” he would say instead of “thank you.” as you fish out a quarter that fell in a fern.
He is that type of guy, a guy named Stanley. The problem is the name Stanley by itself does not wholly describe him. None of our names do, but Stanley didn’t understand that.
So when he got a break from pushing buttons on a keyboard he decided to do more of that and explore a new fangled thing called the internet. Now keep in mind that the internet wasn’t actually new, it was only new to Stanley. He researched with vigor what only most of us would research if we were bored. That being the meaning of a name.
“Stanley: Stony field.” Was what the internet supplied him. That wasn't quite the meaning he wanted. So he decided to ask his coworkers. They didn’t say anything.
“It's a rather simple name for a simple guy like yourself.” Stanley wasn’t sure who said that but he didn’t think that fit either.
“If you don’t like it, just change it.” Stanley startled at the voice this time around, a bit of a late reaction there. Wait, of course, it was his wife from the other room. He could hear something boiling on the stove, but when did he get home?
“I never liked my name anyways.” She said, walking by him to the kitchen, he didn't dare look.
“But I like the name Stanley.”
“Then what's the matter?”
“The meaning.”
“Well then just change the meaning, silly goose.” He saw a fiberglass foot move around the doorframe. He jolted up from where his head had laid on the keyboard, the computer screen was surprisingly unaffected. He must've fallen asleep at his desk. He’s never actually had a wife before (at least he thinks so). Nor does he speak aloud. He also doesn't have a stove. He scribbled what he remembered about the dream onto a convenient sticky note.
“Change the meaning, or add to it, see if I care what you do.” He leaned back in his rolly chair, eyeing the yellow water stain on the ceiling. Well he is quite a predicament isn't he? He knows most people’s coworkers see each other. He knows that a window shouldn’t lead to nothingness. He knows someone should know whether or not they have a wife and kids. He should probably own a stove. He also thinks that maybe when you go to Heaven you are supposed to stay there.
“Stanley Problem.” He added to his sticky note. That's not right, Stanley isn’t a problem he is just eternally in one.
“Stanley Predicament.”
“Stanley Plausible.”
“Stanley Probably.”
“Stanley Parable.”
“Stanley Parallel.”
“Stanley Preemptive.”
Wait, wait, no go back, no not the last one, the one after that last one.
“Stanley Parable.” He mouthed to himself. Yes he quite liked that.

Stanley Parable worked for a company in a big building where he was employee four hundred and twenty seven. At first sight Stanley is like any other man you could see. He is the guy you meet in the street because he dropped his change and you help him pick it all up. But the odd thing is that he is dropping that change every damn day. And before you stopped helping him you’d swear he had a different photo of a woman in his leather wallet every time. He’s the guy that if people had kept helping him pick his change up everyday, they’d realize there are thousands of dollars worth of quarters inside that fern by now.
He is Stanley Parable.
