Carmelita always trys to make holidays special for her little girl, like any parent would. It occured to me, this could even be THEE birthday, and instead of it ending in tears and feeling lonely, its a happy occasion.

Carmelita made her a beauitful new dress as a birthday present, and theres a party at there house with all the village kids. Its a terrific birthday, even wearing her new dress for the day.

I got Around to making Miles's Door!!

Remember, His power is the gift of memory.

It could a Good or bad memory, even Long-term or short-term. Sometimes. He asked the visitor to remember a small piece memory by a certain smell, taste, feeling, touch or sound. He would also suggest the visitor to bring something that means alot to them,like a heirloom or keepsake to make the memory more clear.

At a young age, Miles would only hold down four memories for the entire day. If He went over his limit, He would had to endure painful headaches & a bloody nose. Even when he holds a spoon or piece of his clothing, he would start making a memory. His mama made sure he stayed to his limit by requesting him to wear gloves until he gotten more of a handle of his gift.

After leaving Casita, Miles stopped using gift, only limiting to involuntary memories, & ignored any passerby who wanted a memory. He still wore gloves when he's not working, just only his palms were covered.

(Part )Over the pass year after Bruno Disappeared, Miles sadly sat by his papa's door to see if he could come back home. But his mama had help him keep busy by letting him play with his cousins. Then He was overworked by Alma, sweetly pushing him to give out more memories than his limit to keep the Miracle strong. That didn't sit well for Sonia, She intervened every time, arguing with Alma.

Miles was Sonia's first priority, so the only thing to keep her son happy & safe was to leave la Casita madrigal. They would move back to her old home with her papa, She would get her room back while Miles moved to her brother's old room. Miles had always been scared of his Abuela. He would miss his tíos, tías, & cousins, especially Luisa, Mirabel & Dolores but He didn't feel at home anymore. Abuela only loved him because of his gift & his likeness of Abuelo Pedro.

Not long after a week, They said their farewells-for-now & moved in to the Méndez household. Sonia kicked out anyone who tried to get a memory from Miles, It took a while but They finally stopped, He got to be a kid & a regular teenager while helping his mama in the pottery workshop.

Cafuné

Little excerpt from a WIP of a Papa Bruno AU story. Mirabel is four years old in this, and adopted. Just a little family chaos in the kitchen!

Casita swings Bruno’s door open and he carries Mirabel down towards the ruckus in the kitchen.

Julieta’s there, chasing Luisa with a wet rag. The little girl is covered in flour, laughing. Camilo sits at a table eating pineapple slices. Félix is dancing with Pepa, both dodging around Luisa and Julieta.

It’s typical family chaos. Bruno pauses for a moment at the door, watching it all. With a little one of his own, he can join in in a way he couldn’t before. He loves his sobrinas, but being a tío while they grew up wasn’t the same as being a papá.

Mirabel squirms in his arms until he sets her down. She runs for Pepa first, ramming into her side mid-spin.

Pepa yelps in surprise, a crack of thunder slicing through the noise. Mirabel, used to her tía’s weather, just giggles and hugs her leg. She’s soon scooped up for a hug and a kiss, before being passed to Félix for more of the same.

Luisa waves as she scampers by and crawls under the table. There’s a grunt—Camilo must have kicked her. Possibly by accident, likely on purpose.

Julieta sighs, abandoning the chase, and presses her own kiss to Mirabel’s cheek. Then the little girl is set free to run to Camilo, her favorite playmate.

He pushes pineapple her way and soon both children are sticky with fruit juice. Luisa pops out from under the table, snagging a slice. Julieta sees her chance and grabs the girl before she can escape. Soon, she’s free of flour, if grumbling.

Bruno stays in the doorway and watches it all. Life, spinning around him. The rhythm of their family played out in moments like these. Domestic life—but a miracle.

Oscar Ruiz- 7 years old (his hair is actually a coppery ginger but the picrew didn’t have that so shhhh, maybe one day when I have funds I’ll actually commission a pic of this fam)

Lupe Ruiz- 2 years old

*the kids don’t use the Madrigal surname because neither does Bruno anymore. He introduced himself as Bruno Rojas when he arrived in his new town. Diego and the kids know the truth, but when adopting them, he and Diego decided they didn’t want to have the kids ALSO using a fake last name. So they don’t use it. *shrug*

I didn’t include one of Lupe because I didn’t know how to design a child on picrew, but she looks like a little Mirabel.

okay so!!! i just caught up with lmfe and I! AM! LOVING! IT!!! I CANT EXPRESS MY UNDYING LOVE FOR THAT FIC!!! THE WRITING??? THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT??? THE ANGST???? CHEF'S KISS I TELL YA!!! i love how you write reader!!! she's not the stereotypical kind mom who went through trauma, but she's unconsciously projecting it to her kids (not that it's a good thing irl, but some write characters as strong people who just gets over the trauma, yknow?? we actually see reader going through trauma so subtly that you cant even tell it's there!) there's something about the way you write that really brings me in and it's just so poetic!!! I LOVE IT!!!

i have a few theories up in my mind about whats gonna happen, and im not sure if theyre all right but it's worth a shot! it's okay not to answer because you know, spoilers and stuff (but i hope you do answer!!!)

Mateo's going to die (I HOPE NOT). if not dead then maybe just sick???? I DONT KNOW NELLY. YOU FORESHADOWED SCARY SHIT IN THE LAST FEW CHAPTERS ABOUT MATEO AND IM SCARED

And THIS chapter!! i handle tarot cards before and I just know that these are tarot card descriptions!!! i never would have thought about it until i saw this line "he sits in all of his glory with the keys of Heaven at his feet" and i immediately knew this was The Hierophant! WHAT ARE YOU PLANNING HERE NELLY?? IF YOURE SUGGESTING ONE OF THE KIDS WILL BE REBELLING THEN IM GOING TO GO WILD im still figuring out the other descriptions of the vision because i just had to come here IMMEDIATELY before i can make sense of them!!

Also i think Encanto is?? going?? TO WAR?? YOUVE BEEN FORESHADOWING SO MANY SHIT EVEN IN THE BEGINNING CHAPTERS THAT I FEEL LIKE IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN SOON???

i still have so many theories in mind!!! im rereading all the chapters as we speak because i am deep into this story.

Okay first of all, oH MY GOD ANON. GODDAMN. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ENJOYING AND SUPPORTING THE STORY💖💖💖 I REALLY APPRECIATE IT! I never expected this much love to go into the fic since it’s frankly my first time writing something so long and detailed! Your support really just warmed my heart in all the right spots💖

Super glad you noticed the details I put into writing! I didn’t want to write the reader as this perfect mom who just had trauma then moved on. I wanted her to try to move on but unconsciously internalized her fears until it became a part of her, therefore projecting it to her kids as she raised them. It’s unconscious and frankly unnoticeable, at least, I hope I wrote it subtly enough that it’s implied. I didn’t want to outright say it, so I wrote it through the reader’s interactions with Bruno and the kids.

The general idea of the reader's character is based on Alma’s own, as I had intended for the reader to be a mirror of Alma’s ways. @cheesy-cryptid and I joked about how the reader is an ‘Alma kinnie’, but those lines ring true; Reader is—in a way—Alma’s counterpart. Reader has been under Alma’s wing since she was a baby, and she desperately wants her approval. The way Alma raised her also influenced her way of raising the kids. If you look at it in another way, Reader is what the Madrigal grandkids would be like if they had listened to Abuela’s every instruction without fail (generational trauma amirite). This will especially be proven true in later chapters. And I think you know when it’s going to happen if we follow through the film’s timeline.

Now for your theories💖 I want to tell you everything I have planned, but you already know that a big red SPOILER is going to greet you on the face😭 But I can at least answer some of your theories!

First off, you are correct! Chapter 47 did imply tarot cards! And you got the part where one of the kids is The Hierophant! I think you already know based on the description that it’s our lovely boy Javi💖 I’ll keep the other two tarots hush hush for now until you can figure it out😏 All of the tarots have meaning to them that will foreshadow the future of the story, so do your best on deciphering them!

About Mateo…I’ll leave that to your imagination until I can reveal it in future chapters XP But u h , let’s just say it’s not going to end well for him.

And about Encanto going to war…well, the truth is— //[REDACTED]

“We didn’t want people to know.” Papá said at last in a voice that made even a whisper strain to hear. Sofia thought she’d misheard him or possibly hallucinated the sound altogether, but then he spoke again, louder yet insistently quiet. “We just wanted you.”

Me: I don't need a new fic idea, I already have so many!

My brain: But what if Bruno saves a wolf puppy and the pack basically adopts him as a member of the fam, and follow him around like puppies, and the Madrigals now have like ten wolves sitting in their courtyard around Bruno while Alma tries desperately to not have a heart attack?

Encanto Sonia AU: Introducing the first 2nd- gen child of the Madrigal family, who never came to be. Felicitas Carla Méndez-Madrigal, or Felicia for short. First born daughter of Sonia & Bruno Madrigal.

Two years After losing her mother, Sonia had to dealt w/ another loss. Her unannounced baby's door was barely forming & Sonia was only 14 weeks along when it happened. She was taking a Day off after Bruno noticed how she was more sluggish,fearing it was a cold or stress.

Enjoying her day off by reading in bed, she started having an off feeling, a sharp pain inside of her. She ran out Bruno's room to the kitchen to look for a meal to heal the pain, but as she passed the doors,she noticed the wall was bare. The edge of the upcoming glowing door was gone, that meant only one thing...Sonia had lost her baby. In shock, Sonia walked back their room & slid down the floor as she finally came out from shock. Sonia sobbed in pain, in denial & in grief. Her baby was gone & it was so sudden, Was it her who failed or was it just not meant to be?

All she knew, she couldn't tell Bruno or the family. Sonia spent weeks in their room,thinking & grieving for the child her husband never to got to know about. Bruno,Juli,Pepa,even Alma & Ciel tried to get Sonia to talk to them on why she was acting the way she was,nothing worked.

Fortunately,there was one person who had an idea why Sonia was depressed. Over the next few days,he visited Sonia. He carefully convinced her that her behavior was worrying Bruno. In time,She told Felix about the miscarriage. Sonia got to go thru the stages of grief & started to go back to her usual self but still had the missing part of her. Sonia kept it a secret from everybody but Felix until she was ready. The two happiest moments she got to experiences were when Felix announced that Bruno & Sonia were Dolores's godparents & when Sonia was safe to say of her pregnancy with Miles. Years of raising her son, nieces & nephew, Sonia still thought about her 1st baby & the Wat if's.

Felicia's gift would've been the Power of Luck, both good & Bad. She can give people small amounts of Good luck when they need it or Bad luck when they deserve it. She also gets to experience both as well. You can tell by her dress, She has small four leaf clovers to present Good luck as for the white sprinkles scattered around the Middle is symbolizing salt to ward off bad luck.

I'm finding surprising the popularity of 'Bruno is Mirabel's papa AU'

It's actually makes his actions way less sympathetic. Leaving your niece who has her parents is one thing. Leave your daughter all alone after probably the most traumatic experience in her life is another. Especially considering that most of 'Papa Bruno' AUs have Bruno as a single parent. So he just leaves her as an orphan. And five years old is enough to know that your tíos aren't your parents. Just what would Mirabel think if her dad dissapeared after she didn't get a gift?
