Imagining some time after the wreck in Nothing To Prove (and its context), life's finally gotten back to normal, and the boys are watching some action movie at home. The movie protagonist starts a car chase. It's excellent filmmaking - the kind that sucks you in. Then the protagonist's car makes a wrong turn... right into the path of a bus. There's a sudden, all-too-familiar crunch of metal against metal as the vehicles collide. A very loud, larger than life crash. Ambrosius feels a hand grip onto his. He glances to the side. Ballister is holding his hand tightly, jaw locked, staring blankly at the tv screen in front of them.

"Bal?"

"Tell me you're okay..."

"I'm okay, Bal. It's okay. I'm safe. We're all safe." Ambrosius squeezes the hand back. "I'm not going anywhere."

It's a while before they watch another action movie.
