Doofenshmirtz and Candace are the same character here's my proof:
Neurodivergent as hell
Wants to be in charge (Doof of the world, Candace of her brothers)
Has sibling(s) that they believe outshine them and they believe people like more than them
Have an outside force constantly getting in the way of their plans (Perry for Doof, "mysterious force" [lol Doof] for Candace)
Both have a voice of reason that they usually ignore (but also sometimes those voices of reason kind of feed the fire lol) (Vanessa and Stacy)
Irritated by Perry (but not actually)
Just oodles of self doubt
Actually really intelligent but people judge them based on appearance and personality
Plans only work out in the most insane of scenarios

You know, I have to wonder how much of the hate for Feylin is genuine and how much of it is purely performative. A while back under my fic Feylin Oneshots I received one comment from a Sarah J Maas stan asking if I had tumblr or any other socials so we could fangirl over Feylin together. But her tumblr account was vehemently Pro Feysand, and decidedly anti Feylin. The problem with writing her off as a stan trying to stir up problems is that she admitted to writing some Feylin fics herself, and anonymously posting them on Ao3 due to fear of harassment.
So sometimes I wonder... how many people actually hate Feylin as much as they claim to? And how many simply are vocal about the ship being ~awful~ to avoid getting dogpiled on?

idk man frequently i talk to trans men and mascs who basically tell me that they came out as queer or nonbinary years ago, but were terrified to come out as men or transition in a way that would mean they were perceived as male even though the dysphoria was crushing
specifically bc of rejection from their communities, from other queer people, other trans people, bc men are bad and awful
like. a fella told me earnestly he read this essay about how masculinity isn't inherently toxic from another trans man and im so glad it was positive for him and gave him the courage to transition, but it was horrifying to me that he should be made to feel so disgusted by his own gender that he needed that
esp bc once you're out as queer you're already rejected by mainstream society, so other queers are all you have - the prospect of being ousted and rejected from those spaces bc you become A Man is naturally terrifying
and its literally just rad fem rhetoric of men and masculinity = evil and bad that's infected queer spaces like a festering mould. ppl do it to cis gay and queer men as well, and also just to nonbinary ppl they perceive as cis men bc they don't like their language etc, and to trans men and mascs
ppl are sometimes like. surprised. when i don't apologise for being a man and assert that loving men is natural and beautiful, and reject the appeal of womanhood or women
as if that's not queer enough when like ??? hi???? my attraction to other men IS the queerness?

I want to be clear. This behavior kills people. You do not stalk someone to another social media and publicly oust them like this without an intent to cause harm. This is violence for violence sake. Don't let Matt get away with it

I'm like, absolutely fascinated at how transfems get to have fun and subvert the weird misogyny of forcefem. Like, in cishet forcefem it absolutely is a misogynistic thing* that's predicated on "degrading a man by making him a woman," but with transfems it's given this fun new theme of forcing you to do something youre afraid to do yourself. It's less about degradation** around being a woman and more about forcing you to transition or to make you dress more feminine despite how scared you are to do so, the idea that choice is revoked you just have to do it. It's not degrading that you're a woman, it's degrading you don't have a choice. It's about forcing you to do the thing you're scared to do in this transmisogynist culture.
*since I can't make dumb little rant posts without a billion notes and weirdos on my post mad I don't cover every single thing ever. No, it's not bad to get off to wearing certain clothes. No, it's not bad for dudes to be into forcefem. Yes, a lot of transfems find themselves through forcefem and sissy kinks, no they're not bad for it. I am not calling for the death of all cishet people who do forcefem, and do not care if they do forcefem, but maybe think about how to oust the more misogynistic ideals from your play, you'll find it fun. Whatever else I didn't note I probably didn't imply it.
**no it's not bad if transfems pair this up with degradation. But I have never heard a transfem preface their forcefem as "degrading to be a woman."

One of my best friends went to college in Montana. They were part of the campus queer community. They had a friend who had been stalked and harassed by this guy on Grindr multiple times. When my friend ask them why nothing had been done, why this guy hadn't been ousted from the community, their friend simply said:
"No. We can't do that. That's the same as leaving him for dead."
And they were right for that.
There's a lot of personal reasons I found it in me to forgive my ex that assaulted and closeted me - but another reason is because they were also a hurting, closeted, queer kid who took their pain out on me. They deserve safe communities to heal in and I am not the arbiter of that. There's a reason why my best friend is still my best friend in spite of the fact that they hurt someone in similar but different ways - that I will not disclose further for their privacy. My best friend deserves to heal and so does the person they hurt. No one else is the arbiter of whether or not either one of them is allowed that.
I hate Blaire White, Caitlyn Jenner, Kalvin Garrah, etc. etc. etc. as people. I would never hold community space for them in a typical queer setting. However, if their existences as trans people were under attack? I would still hold space for them even if they would never hold that for me because that's still the right thing to do. That value stands for me personally across all marginalized people - not just trans people.
Absolutely make your personal spaces safe for yourself. Curate your own online experience. But when shit goes down, you still stand up for the queers you don't like. The queers who've hurt people. Who've hurt you even. Because ultimately you are socially the same. Bigotry is bigger than all of us and that's a tough pill to swallow, but you have to swallow it or we are all fucked.

Okay this misconception keeps coming across my dash and it drives me nuts because it means people are lumping two very different versions of the DC universe under one disparaging banner. So let me just say this to get it off my chest because I'm this close to shaking somebody:
The New 52 ended seven years ago in 2016.
That started a section of DC's history called "Rebirth" in which they started bringing elements of the pre-Flashpoint continuity back into the timeline. The first changes came in a big burst called Convergence -- which is how Jon Kent effectively manifested fully formed at 10 years old -- while other reintroductions like Kon-El, Bart Allen, Cass Cain, etc. were more gradual.
The original plan, being forced through by King of Bad Decisions Dan Didio, was that after ~4-5 Rebirth would give way to another full reboot known as 5G. I could go into detail about the plans but they're honestly not important to this post because Didio was (thankfully, finally) ousted from his role as publisher early in 2020, along with something like 80% of the higher-level editorial staff. DC had a complete creative turn-over at the start of the pandemic and completely changed directions as a result. The material being developed for 5G was retooled into the hypothetical future event "Future State" to buy the new staff time to pull together their new direction.
That new direction is called INFINITE FRONTIER. It started in 2021 and THAT is the era of DC comics we're in now. Infinite Frontier is an active push to bring back the pre-Flashpoint characters, as well as some pre-Crisis ideas and characters, while also keeping the few elements of the New 52 that people actually liked (like Jason Todd's more heroic characterization) and actively pursuing diversity initiatives both in creative staff and in creations. And outside of the big events, they're making a real effort to keep these comics short and self contained in the hopes that that'll make them more accessible. So it's actually really easy, if you read comics pre-Flashpoint and dropped off, to just pick up a series and go with the flow. Anything confusing is just a Google away.
Please, please don't make the mistake of thinking modern comics are as bad as the New 52 just because some people are butthurt their ship isn't getting canonized. There have been some really good comics made in the last few years that you should totally try! Spirit World, Monkey Prince and the entire We Are Legends line has been genuinely fantastic. The new Birds of Prey is shaping up to be a ton of fun. Dark Knights of Steel is an entertaining Elseworld. Urban Legends and Brave & the Bold have done some really fun things with shorter anthology books. One Minute War was a really fun Flash family event and everything Stargirl's done recently is liable to make you cry.
I'm begging people to give these comics a chance. It's just really sad to see them being dismissed out of hand.

arguing over whether trans men / mascs / genderqueer men / etc can be lesbians Specifically on the basis of "keeping men out of women's spaces" is harmful to All trans and gnc lesbians.
lets line up three stone butch lesbians. one is a trans woman who is pre-e, one is a cis woman who takes testosterone and binds, one is a trans man who doesn't bind but does have bottom surgery.
are you confident enough to say that you'd be able to tell, on sight, which of these three people you're morally allowed to gate keep from the lesbian bar with no risk of overlap?
if a stone butch takes testosterone, gets top surgery, uses he/him pronouns and 100% identifies as a woman is that person still allowed to be a lesbian? if a trans man never wants to (or financially/medically can't) medically transition and considers being butch a part of their identity (maybe even considers themselves to be both a man and a woman) is that person too close to masculinity to be a lesbian?
if we normalize excluding butches from lesbian spaces that aren't adequately Womanly enough for our personal taste can we guarantee the safety of butch trans women? can we guarantee that trans women Won't be pressured into changing their presentation for your personal comfort instead of their own? can we guarantee that black butches won't have their perceived masculinity presented and treated as more threatening than their white counterparts?
if someone considers themselves a butch lesbian it's probably because they have a better understanding of their identity and sense of self than a stranger does. you don't have to personally get it, because it's not about you. if you don't want to date a trans man then like. don't.
but if we Do decide to draw a line, we have to then reckon with the ramifications of that. once we decide that we're allowed, as a community, to tell people that their identities are wrong and that we can personally decide to oust them if we don't like or understand them then that is setting a precedent that Only puts other minorities at risk.
there is no epidemic of fully binary trans men breaking into lesbian bars to steal all the women away, but there's plenty of terfs and radfems that are more than happy to convince people that lesbians are supposed to look and act and be a certain kind of way. and it's trans women and women of color and genderqueer people who are punished for it.

Hello there! I've been a fan of your work for a while now and let me just say, your original works and characters have me absolutely captivated! (Your yandere outlaw is one of my top favorite fictional characters! And your yandere cult leader is rapidly rising in the ranks 👀) You put so much detail into all your writing and you really delve deep into the psychology and personality of every one of them so beautifully, not to mention how diverse they all are from one another. Each and every one has such dimension and they're so believable in their actions and reactions! (And can I just say I think it's very clever that your yandere!Milf/Dilf's names start with the acronym's initial)
And your MCs are also quite vibrant and while they remain easily relatable they still have distinct traits that the characters get attached to. Thank you for making and sharing these amazing stories and characters with us, it really makes my day whenever I see you've posted something new.
Now, I know this ask is getting pretty lengthy (sorry about that ^^" I tend to ramble) but I was going through your Yan!Dilf works again and I wanted to ask, how would Dominic react if his darling was someone who's maybe dealt with manipulative people in the past or is highly emotionally intelligent and observant who could tell he wasn't being entirely genuine? But instead of pulling away from him they try to understand what he wants from them and was open about it? Would he ever even become obsessed with someone like that or allow that kind of situation to happen or is he too cautious for it to be possible?
I know you've had a lot of asks so please don't feel obligated to answer this! But in any case thank you again for sharing your works and I hope you have a wonderful wonderful day! 💖💫
My Lovely, you have positively touched my soul with your endearing sentiments ! Truly, you have made my day and I cannot thank you enough for being such a loyal enthusiast of my work, your time is valued more than I can ever hope to express <3.
Your question is an incredibly fascinating one, my Dear; thank you for sharing it with us ! I wish you the happiest and most prosperous of days, Sweetie ^^
TW: Manipulation, Dominic Being Dominic, Vulnerability, No Pronouns Used For Reader Except 'You'.
♡ Dominic is, as you suggested, initially extremely cautious around you. However, he knows he can't just drop you like a sack of potatoes; it would be far too obvious to the people around him, which would surely cause others to find him out as the serpent he is if they ever went digging around his character.
♡ But, when you show him, gradually, like a keeper feeding a feral animal, that your endeavour is not to oust him as an un-human but rather to understand what made him like this in the first place (and all the lace and frills that come with such a monumental task), he regards you...differently than he did before.
♡ Sure, he thought you were very attractive and that you could offer him something other than the resplendence his life is steeped in, but now...
♡ He feels exposed. Seen. Vulnerable.
♡ All things he tries to push back against. Things he tries to bury beneath a grandiose tale of a childhood spent in the most accommodating of educational establishments, lavish mansions and the lap of luxury.
♡ He tries to lead you a merry dance down a version of his life that he wants you to see, rebuttaling your attempts at making him crack.
♡ You tell him you can see past that. He, feeling his eye twitch, believes you.
♡ It will take a long, long time to get Dominic even close to admitting a scintilla of how his psyche works. Or, rather, doesn't work.
♡ And it's only if you manage to grind away at his need to hide his most precious secret - the parasite that wears his skin and controls his mind - that he'll open up.
♡ Fractionally. Piecemeal. But he opens up, nonetheless.
♡ He'll grow to love you in ways unfathomable even to him.
♡ If you thought he was bad without having a background in combatting the manipulation of others, he is insidious now.
♡ You become to him what he could never be for himself; a safe haven. The only person from which he does not hide.
♡ Sure, he keeps the more...dangerous aspects of his personality hidden for a lot longer than others, but you can topple these columns, can shake Dominic from his perch forged from the ivory of a devil's horns.
♡ You can tame him in ways unimaginable. You have only to see him for who - what - he truly is.
Reblog for more content like this! It helps creators like myself tremendously and it is greatly appreciated :-)

answering asks? more likely than you think
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i have a feeling it wouldn't go too well... although, to an outsider, a mamuta smacking pom because she's a threat to the flowers would look the exact same as a mamuta smacking pom because its trying to bury her so she can grow, so i don't think any of the other officers would see anything suspect about the interaction
↓ more under the cut!! ↓
Tumblr media
HELL YEAHHHHH absolutely I will always draw more Pingo! if you ever have pingo suggestions/requests/questions, my inbox is always open💖
Tumblr media
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! WAHHH i do my best when it comes to characterizations... I try to make them all unique and interesting lol
Tumblr media
heh... the Dingo enjoyer pipeline... heh....
Tumblr media
THIS is a really good question. at the beginning, she doesn't necessarily resent who she is -- she just subconsciously wants for a place to belong, and for people to fit in amongst. she absolutely recognizes she's different but she doesn't fault herself for that, she just focuses on trying to fit in
now, as time passes and she comes to understand people more, her stance might change -- especially if she manages to spend time with people she cares about and makes friends, but ends up getting ousted or otherwise ostracized. at that point, she might idly wish she was someone else.
for the most part though being a wraith is something she doesn't dwell on, it's just a part of her that she accepts without thinking.
Tumblr media
this is wonderful news. spread the Dick "Dingo" Ringo truth.
Tumblr media
AHH THANK YOU!!! i am continuously floored by the support i receive for both the pom wraith AU and for pingo... i'm very touched that so many people have enjoyed my silly AU, and i'm happy that people like the silly pairing that ended up spawning from it 💖
Tumblr media
AUUUGHH this is the pain of answering asks super late... anon if you see this i hope you enjoyed the pom x collin x dingo pics i posted a while back. i will most likely make more in the future too because i think they're cute
Tumblr media
collin is the only normal rescue corps officer. he's SOOO normal in comparison so unfortunately it falls to him to be the voice of reason more times than not
Tumblr media Tumblr media
YOURE SO RIGHT. it's hard when your coworker is an alien species you know literally nothing about... pom will be fine, she can heal pretty big cracks in her core as long as she stays fed and rests💖
Tumblr media
AHHH THANK YOU!! (im assuming you mean collin) i think hes very neat. im picking him up and squeezing him like a stress toy
Tumblr media
AUUGHH THANK YOU!! WAH....💖
THANK YALL FOR ALL THE ASKS!!! i try to read each and every one (even if i can't respond to all of them), and i really appreciate all the support and the interesting questions and prompts!! it means the world to me that so many people wanna engage with the stuff i make💖💖
i will continue getting through asks... slowly...

Decided to make a post about how most (not all) of Thingol's actions that fans criticize were justified (or at least understandable) and in the interest of his people. I'd recommend checking out warrioreowynofrohan and imakemywings for far more comprehensive meta about the tall boi. Also, no quotes because I'm lazy, but all the canon I mention is from the published Silmarillion.
*************************************************************
1. Quenya ban
I've seen the Quenya ban be described as cultural genocide which icks me out. First of all, maybe don't use genocide to describe fictional characters in a fictional universe, especially when it's happening to real people and cultures. Second of all, that term is still inaccurate. Quenya was spoken in Gondolin, probably in Hithlum and Nargothrond too, and no one was punished for it. Earendil could speak Quenya. The Numenoreans could speak Quenya. Bilbo fucking Baggins could speak Quenya.
The ban was a nonviolent way for Thingol to enact some sort of consequence for the people who murdered his brother's people, stole their ships, and then took advantage of his hospitality while keeping this heinous secret. And it was a way to make sure that Sindarin remained the lingua franca of Beleriand, because the Noldor had already proven their disdain towards the Sindar and their intent to establish their own kingdoms. I think it was imakemywings who said that the ban was also a soft power move to show how all the Sindar who worked with/under the Noldor were still ultimately loyal to Thingol and would obey his decree.
So no, the Quenya ban was not racist or xenophobic or cultural genocide. Again, don't use those terms to describe fiction, and if you insist on doing so, at least look them up in the dictionary first.
2. Isolationism
No he wasn't. He was friends with the dwarves, the Laiquendi, and the Falathrim. He made a mutually beneficial alliance with the Haladin. He was rightfully wary of the (armed-to-the-teeth and hiding something) Noldor but even after he learns about the kinslaying he says he won't cut off relations with the Nolofinweans indefinitely because he recognizes that they're in the fight against Morgoth together.
The Girdle of Melian was only put in place after the first battle when Denethor was killed and it was absolutely the right decision strategically. Thingol knew immediately what it took the Noldor 400 years and countless deaths to understand: there was no defeating Morgoth without the Valar. So he took his people and anyone else who was willing, and he created a kingdom with a semblance of peace where they could thrive. Doriath was a fortress and a symbol of hope for Beleriand. As long as Doriath stood, Morgoth hadn't won completely. No one who cared about Beleriand would have sacrificed that hope for some fanciful ideals of vengeance and glory. And don't forget, he let Beleg and Mablung participate in the Nirnaeth. The fact that only those two went means that no one else in Doriath was willing to fight.
3. Maedhros's comment about a king is he who can hold his own
The arrogance. I'm sorry, Mr. I Got Fooled By Morgoth, were you able to hold your own? You'd be a skeleton hanging from a cliff if Fingon hadn't rescued you. Thingol was filling his armories while the Noldor were still chilling in Valinor. Thingol was battling Morgoth while the Noldor were betraying each other and abandoning their home. He literally said: "...elsewhere there are many of my people, and I would not have them restrained of their freedom, still less ousted from their homes." Those are the words of a king who feels responsible for the people outside of Doriath too. Also, check out the difference between Maedhros's "we'll go wherever we want" comment and Thingol's "I don't like them but they'll be the deadliest foes of Morgoth".
His decision to retreat and put up the Girdle was strategically sound. Many Laiquendi joined him after Denethor's death and the Falathrim came and went freely. He had a choice between spreading out his already depleted forces to help the northern Sindar/Falathrim (and likely get annihilated) or retreat, recover, and wait for a better opportunity (the arrival of the Noldor was not a better opportunity; like I said, he knew only the Valar could defeat Morgoth, and Melian also sensed the Doom). Again, Doriath was a symbol of hope. "Gondor wanes, you say. But Gondor stands." Its survival was essential.
4. Attitude towards Men
Look I'm not going to defend his less-than-stellar attitude, but I do think it's exaggerated by the fandom. Before Beren came, Thingol still agreed to let the Haladin dwell in his territory. He even sent the marchwardens to aid them against orcs. And the minute he realizes Beren's loyalty, bravery, and true love for Luthien, he changes and welcomes him (and also appreciates his humor). He treats Turin like a son, and honors and pities Hurin even when Hurin disrespects him. Turgon otoh refuses to let Hurin into Gondolin even though they were actually friends.
5. Didn't join the Union of Maedhros
See: reasons above. Doriath had to survive. Elves could not defeat Morgoth without the Valar. Also, afaik he didn't actually have an army, just the marchwardens and his guard. Also also, Maedhros had subtly threatened him, Celegorm and Curufin had openly threatened him, and this was after they kidnapped and tried to forcibly marry Luthien. Also also also, he "went not to war, nor any out of Doriath save Mablung and Beleg" meaning the general populace didn't want to fight either.
6. Didn't accept refugees
As far as I'm aware, this is completely fanon. The (Noldorin, just fyi) refugees of Nargothrond are accepted into Doriath, as are the Sindar after Bragollach. Curufin and Celegorm's people join Amrod in Ossiriand I believe after the Nirnaeth. There's no canonical basis for this claim.
7. Responsible for Finrod's death
Nah dude. I'm not saying he was right in setting the quest, it was absolutely a horrible quest. But Finrod decided of his own free will to help Beren. You can say that he wouldn't have died if Thingol hadn't set the quest, but that's like saying if Morgoth hadn't stolen the Silmarils, the kinslayings wouldn't have happened. Objectively true, but missing a whole lotta nuance and absolving the Feanorians of their culpability. And I'm not comparing Thingol with Morgoth so don't start.
*************************************************************
The criticisms I don't mention are the ones I agree with. He should have listened to Melian. He should have reasoned with the dwarves instead of insulting them; honestly, his death was pretty stupid. He probably should have been a little more willing to establish relations with the Nolofinweans, but I understand completely why he didn't. He definitely shouldn't have fucked with the Silmaril but tbh, that seemed like one of the parts where a bigger force was determining things, like it was written in the Music already, because that Silmaril did play a key role in Morgoth's defeat.
In conclusion: Thingol rocked, fandom shocked.
Obligatory disclaimer: I meant no offense to anybody, and everyone is entitled to hold their own opinion on the Silm and its characters.

do you have any response to people who treat voting like a trolley problem? because that seems to be where a lot of people here are coming at it from. like no faith in electoralism no care for the process, just a decision with a level of four bad and a level of five bad. to be clear thats not the way i come at it but i do think thats how many people think abt it
i mean the response is that, like, voting is not like the trolley problem because it happens more than once and not in a vacuum. it's more like... i don't know, one of those game theory games that unfolds across multiple play sessions. there will be a 2028 election and a 2032 election and the results of the previous elections will inform democratic party strategy, candidate selection, and policy in both of those. if you pledge to always support the democratic party as long as they're better than the republican party, then they can do 99.9% of what the republican party does without worrying about your unwavering support. if you have actual red lines (and this is you, as a bloc, as a group, individual political actions never matter) then the party will in fact think twice before crossing them about whether the hit to electoral support is worth it.
obviously, i'm a communist, i don't think you will ever get anything good out of the democratic party. bourgeois elections are ultimately choices of which representatives will repress you (that's some vintage marxist humour for ya). but if you think it's worth voting at all then you should also be aware of how your vote and the withdrawal thereof can be used to play chicken/hardball with political parties that need it. the right is well fucking aware of this--right-wing labour party members in the UK ran a huge sabotage campaign against the social democrat jeremy corbyn, losing the election and using that loss to oust all the left-wing elements of the party. the tea party have been using threats like this to push the republican party rightwards for decades now.
of course, you will never get something outside of the overton window of acceptable ruling-class politics by voting but if you believe there are meaningful gradations within that window (as, if you plan to ever vote at all, you logically must) then those concessions should still matter and should still be worth pursuing if you're already making the decisions to engage with electoral politics at all

I don't know how to deal with the situation anymore, on one hand I understand everyone having hope and looking forward to the server repairing, really I do, but like... I feel like every update makes me feel more and more bleak for the communication issues. I'd like to say I feel reassured when a CC comes and says "well things are being fixed up and the admins I talked to are saying it's going great," but I just don't anymore, especially when I go look at one of the said admins public twitter, and they're liking tweets talking about how everyone leaving the company and exposing the way they were treated were just "ungrateful petty pieces of shit," and like... I don't feel comforted, I feel frustrated and like no one is talking to the admins who got ousted even more. Am I supposed to just smile and nod through the fact a language is just gone from the server? Why were we expendable... Why am I supposed to know you "support the admins" because you posted once in support of them a month ago but you proceeded to go on a tirade about how useless and liars all of the now out admins are over a week. I don't know. I don't think we know everything behind the scenes. Everything feels so weird. I just want the admins who got ousted to be okay and know their part of the server meant something to me. I don't know the answer and I doubt I ever will but this last year was a delight. I don't think it could've been the same without every former admin like Léa or Ana or Lumi or Shade or Dianna or Amz3t or Rainylour or Pancks or any of the update admins who kept me up on new content or all of the coders on the backend making websites like qsmp.tv usable and the purgatory website and the elections website and the cool ARG website or all of the builders in game who made events really shine or any of the unnamed many many more admins and people who worked so hard to make the project work so well despite all of the conditions. Like the server with any of these removed is hard to imagine and I still don't think I can fully believe it.

Do you think Rishi Sunak could hold himself as PM if he gets the position after Liz Truss? Just given what a mess the current situation is. I'm honestly wondering how anyone of the Tories could want to become PM right now, it sounds like political suicide. It's like taking over responsibility for a dumpster fire while half your party tries to sabotage your efforts of controlling it.
Tbh I'm not sure anyone can at this point. It would actually be in the best interests of the Tory party right now to just call a GE and then focus on rebuilding themselves for next time - there is literally no hope of them winning right now. Last week I saw a poll that put them at SEVENTEEN PERCENT approval. That's the lowest they've ever been. They've completely disintegrated, like they were hit with a three-word Thu'um with Dragonborn Force. They are atoms. Blasted into their own shadows.
The Sunday Times, of all papers, is calling for both Rishi Sunak to take over AND A GENERAL ELECTION SO LABOUR CAN STEP IN. That is a major Tory paper, and their official stance is "Rishi is the best option for a viable stop gap but the whole party needs to be fired into the sun."
Meanwhile, the Sunday Mail yesterday tried to inject hope by running a story claiming they're trying to get Ben Wallace to stage a coup and oust Liz. Here is their headline:
Tumblr media
Here is the problem:
Some MPs are worried because while Ben Wallace is popular within the Tory party, the public don't know who he is.
And that front page doesn't help.
Because that's not Ben Wallace.
In another YouGov poll for the Times, not a single political group, age group, area of the country, gender, or other demographic said that Liz Truss was the right choice for PM. And while present dissatisfaction polling results obviously won't directly translate into election results, because a lot of people will poll their fury but when push comes to shove will still vote for the party with gritted teeth, it's nonetheless true that we have not seen a Predicted Election Graph like this in recent memory:

So we're back to the big question: how fast can we get a GE? Because it no longer matters who sits in the hot seat. The party is done.

♠️♥️ Lyney x Reader♥️♠️
Synopsis: Reader has some serious escapist tendencies, no friends anymore, and lives in a shell they are too afraid to crawl out of because they perceive reality as disgusting and mundane nowadays. What happens when a certain magician shows them that reality can still be beautiful as a way to thank them for the freedom they inadvertently granted him with?
!!SPOILERS FOR THE ARCHON QUEST!!
This is kinda long! I also made it at 1 AM so if there are any errors it's cuz of that ('□`) I personally have been going through some things and have been finding a lot of comfort in this goofy ol'magician. So sorry if this has some darkers tones than my usual stuff! I tried to keep reader as gender neutral as I could by not name dropping anyone and only referring to them as "You" variations. If there is a slip up please tell me!
You're hardwired to be an extrovert, but you exist in an environment and place that shuns you and forces you into a shell.
You've had your voice ripped from your throat one too many times and you've been silenced for nothing more than a mere giggle.
You were raised in an isolated world, away from humanity and it's harsh reality.
You didn't have any friends growing up except for the occasional child of a parent's friend who would visit.
Your siblings would hide away and your father would yell all the time. Your mother was always at work. Your friends were in your worlds of fiction and your books. The drawings you began to make to see these adventures you had with them.
You don't know how real people act or how to speak with them, treating everything like dialogue in a book.
Friends you had made at one point eventually coined you as toxic because of your inability to speak with any of them properly. Perhaps you should've tried harder. No, you definitely should have tried harder.
Perhaps they would still be here if you had made more drawings for them. Maybe if you had kept your opinions to yourself. Maybe if you had just smiled and nodded. Maybe they would still be here.
You became a shell. Hiding yourself away from any possible relationships. Keeping yourself away from anyone else you could possibly hurt with your ignorance. You had friends, it's not like you were lonely. The characters you read about and drew all the time were your friends.
Yet, they began to feel empty. You began to feel empty. Focusing all your time on honing your talent and living in a world of fiction reality became bland. Disgusting even. This only drove you to hide away from it even more.
You were lonely, craving friends and love you knew you couldn't let yourself have. It was like an addiction. You had it once and now you want it more. But nothing else ever hits like that first high does, right?
For the sake of everyone else around you, you cut them all off. You were stung once. Being shelter your whole life you didn't know how to handle it. You gave up on everything and everyone.
You felt hollow.
You met him after one of his shows.
The magician was so insistent you see his next one.
You supposed it couldn't hurt.
So you arrived at his next one.
And then the next.
And the next.
Until you began to see every show of his.
He would speak to you after each one, ask you how your day was. He would tell you about his.
Even after he was ousted as a member of the fatui you still saw his shows. You still spoke with him. It was as if you didn't even care.
Something about him and his magic, the reality bending of it all was beautiful. The most beautiful thing you had seen in ages.
It didn't feel real, yet it was. It was magnificent. He was magnificent.
Nothing could change that. Especially not something as silly as a title or affiliations.
As far as you were concerned, he was wonderful.
Even after he began to show you his true colours.
He had shown you something beautiful, and for that you could only appreciate every side of him.
Everything about him was addictive, every single part and side. Every nook and cranny. Both sides of the beautiful coin.
That's when you realised you became too attached.
You didn't want to ruin something so beautiful with your thorns, so you stopped attending his shows.
Stopped seeing him all together.
You couldn't tarnish something so glorious by hurting the person responsible for it. You couldn't hurt the majesty of it all. The majesty he showed you.
He noticed you stopped attending his shows immediately.
He sought after you for ages. Since you hardly leave you house only for food he didn't find you for a while.
However, once he did he wouldn't leave.
He followed you around, asking all about where you had been.
You wouldn't respond.
All though he wouldn't speak of it, you in a way provided him with a sense of comfort.
You didn't even question him once after he was revealed to be of the House of Hearth.
All though you loved him for being able to break reality, you weren't a monster. You never forced him to keep up his acts. You knew even someone as talented as he needs breaks.
So when he approached you, his hair unstyled and in plain wear with nothing more than a mere request of comforting silence or idle chatter not regarding his work you obliged.
He felt as if he could show both sides of himself to you, both sides of that coin. He could be as flashy or as monotonous as he wished. You granted him a sort of freedom.
He became very quickly attached to you.
When you stopped showing up to his performances he panicked.
Perhaps you were tired of his antics?
It took a long time, but you eventually did open up about why you stopped showing up.
He felt a side of him ache.
You were just about as alone in this world as he was, yet not at the same time.
He had his siblings to talk to, the blonde traveller to talk to. You seemed to have no one.
To learn his shows were a break from the world you viewed of rancid initially and how it brought you to love every part of him.
How ethereal he was to you.
And how you were afraid you would grow obsessive and toxic and how you didn't want that for him.
How he had been the closest thing you've had to a friend in years and how attached you had become.
How worried you were for him, how you adored him so much you were willing to cut yourself away if it meant keeping him safe from something potentially toxic. Even if it meant sacrificing your own happiness.
He wouldn't let you feel this way, no, he couldn't let you feel this way anymore.
He assured you that he would never run away, no matter what sides of yourself you were to show him. After all, you did the same for him.
He would understand and help you learn how to make friends, how to properly interact with others. Yet, he would want you to be the same around him.
In a way, he wanted to help you build a mask to wear like he does but still provide you with people you can be yourself around.
He thinks you are wonderful and misunderstood, yet he understands not all can see that. He wants to protect you like he does his siblings.
It's the only way he knows how to help, and you don't seem to mind either. He can't change everyone or anyone's opinion of you. Those are to each their own. But you can. And he can help you find a way to do that.
He doesn't want you to change who you are, but but doesn't want you to feel isolated and alone anymore either.
So a removable mask seems as if it's the best answer, no?
He also introduces you to his siblings and a blonde traveller along with their adventuring party. You meet a large amount of kind people including a young man who visually strikes quite a similar appearance to your friendly magician with a platinum blonde ponytail and bright crimson eyes and a young woman with a long, pink ponytail that fades to a blue and eyes that seem to have seen things beyond the scope of what a woman her age normally would have.
If you begin to feel nervous making so many new friends and with things changing so quickly, he doesn't hesitate to take things slower. He isn't afraid to make any adjustments for you.
He isn't afraid to return the feeling of freedom you blessed him with, so let him crack that shell of yours and help you spread your wings to soar out of that black abyss of isolation you've been drowning yourself in.

I have seen a post circulating that talks about US politics and basically insinuates that in the upcoming presidential election, Biden is "99% Hitler" and Trump is "100% Hitler" and it makes me so frustrated that people can't see this as the disinformation and anti-vote propaganda that it is.
I'm intensely frustrated with Biden for how he has acted too little, too late on the Palestine issue, and how the U.S. continues to send billions in arms to Israel. And yet I'm going to be voting for him, and the analogy above is hugely dishonest. There is a massive difference between Biden and Trump:
The Biden administration and Democrats have strongly and unambiguously protected abortion rights, whereas Donald Trump appointed three supreme court justices who overturned Roe vs. Wade, and Republicans have across-the-board passed draconian abortion restrictions far more conservative than even their base.
Biden and the Democrats are strongly pro-LGBTQ rights including trans rights, at a time when Republicans are threatening trans rights in every state they control, and when even mainstream, "center-left" publications like the NY Times have been publishing transphobic drivel.
The Biden administration continues to expand healthcare access and work to control costs whereas the Trump administration worked to undermine much of the coverage we had.
The Trump administration was hopelessly corrupt and dysfunctional, with turnover in most appointed positions, scandal after scandal. Trump committed crime after crime in plain view, and incited an insurrection when he lost the election and has continued to back conspiracy theories undermining the very foundation of our democracy. Biden has been a relatively straightforward, "what you see is what you get" politician over his whole career, with a sort of level of flaws and corruption that is more typical of politics.
Trump had unprecedented anti-immigrant stances and under him, life became much more difficult for immigrants to the US as well as for non-citizens living here legally. Biden's administration has tried and worked against tough resistance to reverse many of the worst immigration changes made under the Trump administration, including doing things like giving 320,000 Venezuelans temporary protected status as refugees, trying to halt the border wall construction, and increasing legal immigration across-the-board.
Biden's rhetoric has become more critical of Israel over time, Biden has called for regime change and the ousting of Netanyahu, and under Biden the US Ambassador finally stopped voting against a ceasefire resolution and only abstained. Whereas Trump and the Republican's rhetoric has retained entirely critical of Palestinians and not at all critical of Israel, and Republicans have consistently supported draconian restrictions such as bans on BDS and some even introducing legislation banning referring to the region as Palestine. And weeks back, when public sentiment was not as anti-Israel as it is now, several Democrats voted for scrutiny to the Israeli military aid, whereas only one Republican did.
I am highly critical of Biden and I too am appalled that he's still running and that we don't have a better candidate who even ran in the primary. But it's far from truthful to say there is only a 1% difference between Biden and Trump, and even more dishonest and inaccurate to call Biden "99% Hitler", that's crazy talk and it serves only one purpose: to demotivate people and suppress voting.
There is a huge difference between these candidates. They will affect my daily life and your daily life and they will affect the whole world and they will affect Palestine.
Do you want a better candidate? Do you want to vote for an idealistic third-party candidate as a protest vote?
Support ranked choice voting first. Then, if you are in a state like Maine or Alaska that allows ranked choice for the president, vote for your ideal candidates and place Biden however low you want and then omit Trump entirely.
But if you do not have ranked choice in your state, especially if you live in a swing state, vote for Biden. And make sure to also join a movement that advances ranked choice, ideally Total Vote Runoff (TVR) as that is the best system for ranked choice.
