Indirect light fills the bedroom with a pearly glow, reflecting off the courtyard walls outside where more of those tangling vines with hundreds of pale star-shaped flowers trail down. They must’ve forgotten to close the curtains after eating room service late in the little private courtyard covered with blue-and-yellow tiles as Bucky lounged in one chair with his bare feet kicked up on another, wearing only those dark sweats low on his hips.

Now, heavy and warm with sleep, Bucky sprawls out against his chest; Bucky, who came back to his bed at some point in the early morning.

Steve skims his knuckles down the long dip of Bucky’s spine: his walking-around miracle, his bad penny.

steve sometimes feels like his body is not his own.

like sometimes he looks down at his hands and thinks 'that's not right, they should be smaller ' with such absolutely certainty that it hurts like an ache when he realizes that his hands will never be that small again. he still buys the wrong size shirts more often than not, even after getting defrosted.

and it's not like he misses his old body — not dying every 3 weeks from an illness is so amazing. who knew breathing could feel so good? — but for all intents and purposes, it was still his body. the body he grew up with. with it's skin that bruised too easily and his wrists that looked like they would break if someone touched them a little too hard. it was that body that fought off rheumatic fever, that got through hundreds of asthma attacks, that held itself up through fights with half of brooklyn. it was his old body that got it's Last Rites 4 times. it was his old body he learned how to walk and run and live in. that made it to 21 despite all the doctors telling ma he'd be lucky to make it to 12.

it was with his old hands he patched up becca and ruth. it was his old arms that sweet baby ‘liza loved being held in, much to the amusement of aunt winnie. it was with his old arms that he gestured wildly with when talking politics with uncle george. it was his old body that still held the impressions of ma hugging him.

it was his knobby knees and weak lungs that ran after bucky through brooklyn. it was his old body he learned how to love and hate. learned how to lift up even when the eugenicists slipped flyers under their door. it was with his old knuckles he learned how to make a punch count. it was with his old voice that he learned how to speak up, learned to make his voice heard.

these days people hear him without speaking. these days he doesn’t have to punch anyone, he can just loom and glare. they’ll run off easy enough. everything comes easy to this body. this body’s never had to work a day in it’s life. never felt the deliriousness of having a fever so high, you start seeing your da again. never felt the desperation of needing to breathe — never felt the relief, the joy, the elation, the rush of making it through another life-threatening illness.

god, all of this is so fucking stupid. who complains about not having to worry about making through the winter? who fucking complains when their body gets “fixed”?

(steve carefully tries not to think about the word ‘fixed’. like there was something about him that needed to be remade. he is their personal frankenstein’s monster. taken apart and sewn back together, again and again and again, whenever the war effort needs more fuel. how long has it been since he was just stevie? just bucky’s babydoll? just ma’s stíofán? he’s so tired. he is captain america.)

but there’s no going back now. there’s no injection to undo the serum. he’s just gonna have to live with the fact that his shoulders will always feel too broad. there is nothing to change the fact that he had to relearn how to use a pencil again. that he’ll never tuck neatly under bucky’s chin again. that his stomach will never concave again. that his feet are three sizes up from what they used to be. he just gonna have to live with the sensation of his body being Wrong, Wrong, Wrong.

(he feels a lot like that boy zia rosa in the downstairs apartment used to read to him about. the one they made a picture on — pinocchio. “look ma, bucky! i’m a real boy now!” except, he was real before wasn’t he? he was someone before serum. he’s a Someone now. he’ll never be himself again.)

when his plane crashes into the ice, steve knows that this is the end. that nobody will remember steven grant rogers. nobody will know bucky’s stevie — all 94 pounds of righteousness and trouble. nobody will remember ma’s stíofán — compassionate and sweet, forever trying to do the right thing. nobody will know about becca’s second big brother, ruth’s knight in shining armor, ‘liza’s favorite sleeping spot. when his plane crashes, that 5′4′’, 100-pounds-soaking-wet, kid from the slums of brooklyn will be forgotten. what a shame he thinks that kid was better than 10 captain america’s put together.

(he sobs quietly in a darkened corner of the smithsonian when he realized he’ll never be steven grant rogers again. 70 years later and his body is still Wrong, Wrong, Wrong.)

it would've been nice he thinks to be small without the illnesses. steve doesn’t look in mirrors anymore.

(the day he realized he couldn't tuck himself into the crook of bucky's neck like he used to without contorting his body, he has to excuse himself into woods. he spends the next 30 minutes, hidden behind the widest tree he can find (his shoulders still stuck out slightly), trying desperately to ignore the ache in his chest. trying his best to ignore the absolute sense of certainty that he’s in the wrong body.

bucky finds him out there 20 minutes later, staring blankly into the distance. carefully, bucky leads him back to their tent, lays him down gently, and goes about making him Better. bucky always made things better. but then bucky’s gone, brain splattered across the swiss alps and steve is horrifyingly numb. what was the point of a brand new body, of being made into a Real Boy, if he couldn’t save the only person who saw him? if he couldn’t save the one he loved (loves.)?

it had always been him and bucky and if bucky’s not here, well- then steve’s not gonna be here either. 3 days later, his plane’s crashing into the artic and his eyes are slipping shut and it’s bliss. for a moment, at least.)

Instead of being asleep I’m thinking about a fic in which Bucky is a virgin male omega that had to start very early in the adult film industry in order to support his family.

An expression crosses Bucky’s face like a shadow, tightly controlled and gone fast. But he rolls his head to the side, looking over at Steve, calm and steady, worn by life and changed so much but still here, by this small fire and lit with the unsteady golden glow, under these too many stars.

“Everywhere I go,” Bucky says, “the past is this pit. But I’ve got to keep it behind me, because if I don’t, I’ll fall in. And someday I’m not going to have the strength to crawl back out. So it’s got to stay behind me, Steve—the big nothing right at the back of my feet.”

Steve stares at his walking-around miracle brought back to him by so much carnage and wretched injustice he’ll never be able to set right, not in all his remaining days.

Because here’s the truth: he’s never once caught Bucky and every time he’s ended up following, he’s been too late to save him from all this suffering—the war, the future, and the long fall into the cold that came in between.

Honesty is all he has to give, which may just be adding to the burdens of a man doomed to carry a terrible load he can’t put down.

But maybe there’s something in the old paradox: the weight that makes you feel lighter.

Maybe that’s what loving someone is.

even though it feels illegal to ship barely anything sometimes in Genshin (usually due to characters’ ages that may not match their appearance sometimes) I do have a few!

❄️Kaebedo!🏔

I was sceptical at first cause I had a different Kaeya ship but my gf spent half of our relationship teaching me how to multiship NDNDN and she managed to teach me. So yeah I think kaebedo is adorable and the chemistry might be about right here! Kaeya is into him, just how he says that in the voice lines. They have Klee too, while Albedo treats her like a younger sister and Kaeya acts like her babysitter (sort of) - they definitely hang out together. Not to mention their curious Khaenri’ah roots!!!

🏔ZhongVen! 💨

Naw man these are just. Quality. It’s a rare ship cause Venti usually ends up with Xiao and it’s way more popular; zhongven is a curious ship. First of all, it’s awesome they both have Visions that act funny with other elements - and can’t work with each other! I think it makes curious chemistry. Their characters don’t match either shdhshw Venti is a lil shit (Archon of Freedom) while Zhongli is this tall serious dude (Archon of Contracts). Second, they’re two remaining archons that fought in Archon War if I remember correctly and I believe they would have an interesting history ^^

🔥Thomato💧

DO I HAVE TO EXPLAIN THIS ONE I love these two sm. Thoma may be the housekeeper of Kamisato Estate but it’s so sweet Ayaka and Ayato treat him like part of their family 🥹 I love how thankful Ayato is, and how much he appreciates Thoma’s work around! He also claims that in his position he can’t really trust too many people but Thoma is one of them. And on the other side, Thoma is happy to look out for Ayato when he’s at home cause he feels like thats all he can do. They make me feel all fuzzy 🥹🥹

❄️AyaMiya🔥

It’s sort of a side ship, not much of any OTP, I think they’re neat! And the opposite Visions make it quite spicy too - overall 8/10!

🌱AlHaitham x Kaveh 🌱

I can’t wait until they’re out as playable characters. 🧍🏽 Their little lore sounds pretty funny, considering AlHaitham is allowing Kaveh to stay over and they both freak out at each other; it leads to Kaveh literally bitching about him everywhere in Sumeru which if you ask me, it’s just straight hilarious. I’m not sure how I feel about two same Dendro visions in a ship cause for most of the time I shipped like- one vision with something different, you get what I mean. We will see! Can’t wait till they’re here

Zukka (Zuko/Sokka), from Avatar the last airbender : they're simply idiots in love. I'm not sure I can explain why I love them so much. I think they're beautiful together and that their personalities complete each others.

SuguSato (Gojo Satoru/Geto Suguru) from Jujutsu Kaisen : AH. I won't talk about them or else I'll be writing all night. They're my current hyperfixation (since 2 years). I already made too much posts about them. They smart and idiots in the same time, they're kids who are learning how to love, they're the definition of bromance, the incarnation of gay/bi panic & awareness.

BokuAka (Bokuto Kotaro/Akaashi Keiji) AND KuroKen (Kuroo Tetsurou/Kenma Kozume), from Haikyuu : yes I have to put both because I am not able to choose only one. I know they're in highschool but they're just married. They're two married couples. They're soulmates. They are perfect for each other. They love each other so fucking much it's overwhelming. It's a captain/setter relationship that is so pure and wholesome. They're not even in the same year yet they fit each other perfectly. Also, they're sexy.

Karushuu (Akabane Karma/Asano Gakushuu), from Assassination Classroom : they're just the whole Enemies to Lovers trope for highschoolers and it's so fucking hilarious to imagine them flirting and bickering at the same time. I can imagine them in so many situations, and that's why I keep writing fanfiction about them. They have the exact same personality but just, slightly to the left, and that somehow makes them total opposite. Yet the relationship works.

EraserMic (Aizawa Shouta/Yamada Hizashi) from My Hero Academia : married couple too but they are adults and they also might have adopted a kid (Eri) or 20 (the entire 1-A + Hitoshi). It's the Sunshine/Moonlight trope, one hyperactive extravert in love with the tired emo introvert, and they work very well together. I also write fanfic about them. I had a 4 year long hyperfixation on them.

AziraCrow (Aziraphale/Crowley) from Good Omens : I don't need to say anything, just watch the show. It's on Amazon Prime. Alright, okay, I will say one thing : Genderqueer In Love.

Stucky (Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes), from the MCU : It has been a while since I've read or saved anything about them but I will never forget how much I love them. I will never NOT be mad about the queerbait. They are in love till the end of the line, they cannot be separated, they are a whole pack yet Marvel put them apart. Just, let them be together, I'm begging you.

Ahhhhh Big Mouth finally ended and what a great and marvellous drama it was 👏

I am so so glad that it did not end on a cliffhanger

It had some really hard hitting lines and I love how the theme was consistent from the start till the end.

Ep 1 :

Ep 15:

This parallel really gives you chills especially since how true it was with people still voting for Choi Doha (and we see it happening such things happening in real life as well; people electing absolute garbage or losers rigging elections to win)

Kwang Yeon's (prisoner 1503) story really makes me so sad, he was really innocent at the end of the day and that shitty old man's son was the real culprit who escaped 🤬. It is truly heartbreaking that his family knew the truth and still didn't do anything/couldn't do anything probably/cut ties with him.

I HATED THAT FAT ABUSIVE MURDERER HUSBAND OF HYEJIN SO MUCH AND THE ONLY FLAW THIS DRAMA HAD WAS NOT PUNISHING HIM LIKE HE DESERVED.

Miho's father crying really broke me too. Juhee's scenes where her heart was broken by yet another new revelation about her husband were really well done by the actress playing Juhee and you could really feel the heartbreak 💔.

I liked the big mouse org and how they were a squad esp in that fish farm scene when and how Miho commanded the squad and she looked really cool 😎 as an in charge. She really was the no. 1 in true terms and in everything 💯, babe was the mvp 🥺😪💖.

Last but not the least I loved the main couple so much and they delivered a strong chemistry and connection even without much skinship and that's really proof of good writing/acting. A power couple, and the song Him & I really suits and fits them 😭. They deserved better.

Park Changho and Ko Miho were def otp material and their power couple vibe reminded me of the main couples of Hapiness and Vagabond (another 2 awesome kdramas that you should check out if you haven't already)
