AITA for accidentally getting my boss’s (m) crush (f) to fall in love with me (f posing as m) while i was supposed to be making her fall for him??
so for context i work for this guy (let’s call him o) and he’s in love with this woman we’ll call v. v is super uninterested and refuses to see him ever since her father and brother died, but my boss really likes her, so, since im his most trusted employee, he sent me to tell her how much he loves her.
here’s where the problem starts: i tell her all about how much my boss loves her, and then when i run out of prepackaged things from my boss to say, i start speaking off the cuff. v absolutely loves this and starts begging me to come back every day, even going so far as to give me a ring that isn’t even mine??? now, she’s absolutely head over heels for ME when i was supposed to be wooing her for my boss.
another wrench in the situation is that im totally in love with my boss but he won’t even consider me (i’m in disguise as a man atm — long story — so despite our deep connection, he only sees me as a friend).
so aita???

hey uh. so Meredith and Orsino both had to like. take the ferry to the Gallows during the last straw to like. get in place before the real fighting started I guess. what. do you think that ride was like. did they take the same boat. did they take separate boats at the same time and just glare at each other on the way over. did they get to the docks and there was only one boat so they rock-paper-scissored over who got to go first

unironically distracted every time by how straight up cool orsino is in demands of the qun. we’re not going to talk abt his introduction because if i think too hard abt the mages dying trying to help against the qunari even when orsino told them to run and orsino having to immediately pick himself up to deal with meredith as he clearly has after mage deaths so many times before i break down a little but the scene where he distracts the qunari is like. it’s just a very cool and assured show of power in a way we have rarely seen from southern mages up until that point and i love it for him. "have confidence, knight-commander." confronts the qunari front gate absolutely single-handed. fireballs them to all hell. coolly nods to hawke to go ahead like it's nothing. incredible.
i guess they also give meredith her equally very cool if somewhat terrifying rescue of hawke so their introductions in this quest are intended to present them as Big Players and it also demonstrates the huge upgrade in hawke’s status to act 3 where they’re like, on the level with these two. i don’t know what point i’m making here i just really enjoy the scene

I choose to believe that Orsino’s fate was one of the more heavily fictionalized features of Varric’s tale. You cannot convince me otherwise. Dude didn’t deserve to be thrown under the bus like that.

🃏 ⤷ Twelfth Night Incorrect Quotes #64
Olivia: Do you ever get pre-annoyed? Like you already know someone is going to piss you off? Cesario: What? No, I— Orsino: *enters room* Olivia: *jaw clenches*

My one and only concept for a Twelfth Night adaptation is that Orsino was in love with Olivia's brother, not Olivia herself. I think it would be fun to bring out the theme of substitution (Sebastian for Viola in Olivia's case, and in some ways, Viola for Cesario in Orsino's) It would also bring out the grief/mourning/ghosts aspect more to the forefront: Orsino is pursuing Olivia only because she reminds him of her brother.
Also Malvolio should be a woman

An absolutely crucial bit of Shakespearean casting
Orsino must be hot.
Obviously there are many many different ways in which people can be hot, and (never) fuck anyone who says otherwise. But he must give an overall impression of hotness. His clothes should suit him well, his voice should be a delight, his energy should be devastatingly attractive. Bonus points if he opens his shirt at least once, which tbf he usually does. ;-) He should also be extremely bi, but I hope that goes without saying.
Orsino is... not one of my favourite Shakespearean men, and I always feel that Viola is vastly too good for him (as indeed would Olivia have been). But if he is a hot, disastrous bi, then I can at least see what Viola sees in him, which makes the entire play work far better. :D

🔥 Orsino?
they should have let him and hawke kiss i’m dead serious
okay aside from that. um orsino is my babygirl and i do see why people buy into the orsino fight not being real if you side with the mages especially bc there’s like word of god admission it wasn’t done well and hints in canon etc., but i ALSO think the orsino harvester transformation emphasises the desperation of the last straw fight if you side with the mages, which imo is easy to miss bc of like the videogame format where you know you can’t really lose. even if you side with the mages, orsino thinks you are all going to die. (as a further note, everyone who sides with you with the mages is in doing that accepting those chances, however brave a face they’re putting on it. i really think the gravity of that final stand and like the weight of the odds against you gets ignored.) i don’t necessarily mind orsino’s harvester thing but they should have written it better so it doesn’t like happen non-sensically when you seem to be winning, i think you should be getting overwhelmed. at the very least

♟: Patching up a wound for Meresino? 🥺
This prompt made me smile, because my very first Mersino fic technically fits this bill to a tee (just with, uh, more sexual activity). So, it was most delightful to have an opportunity to return to my Meresino roots! --- Scratching the Surface
Sometimes, Orsino can almost convince himself that Meredith’s hatred of mages is an elaborate façade, nothing more than a convenient excuse to gain power. But then, there are times like these.
He watches on in bemusement as Meredith stitches her wound shut, the only sign of the pain she must be surely suffering evident in the furrow of her brow, lines of her face even deeper than usual.
“You know I could help with that,” Orsino teases, gesturing theatrically at the knight-commander’s arm with his spare hand. It’s not that he even wants to lend her his assistance, not really. There’s a small part of him that revels in her pain, and not to mention an even larger part that believes she deserves it. It’s just that he could. But she won’t let him. He’s expecting the knight-commander to ignore him completely. It’s one of her favourite past-times, second only to shouting (predominantly at him, but often at others as well). Instead, Meredith surprises him. “You are helping, mage,” she answers flatly. But most importantly, not angrily. His hands instinctively clench: one forms a fist and the other, tenses against Meredith’s bare wrist, where he’d been helping hold down her arm as she’d tended her wound and had been dutifully attempting to notice as little as possible.
He tries not to think about how warm her skin feels against fingertips.
Rolls her words around in his mind instead. Mage, she’d uttered, like it was punctuation.
Like it was a curse. And therein lies the rub, doesn’t it? Even though with just a mere wriggle of his fingers, he could take her pain away, leaving her skin blemish-free as though it had never been so much as scratched before, she would never let him. Because she did truly believe him, and everyone like him, to be cursed, as though he would sooner transform into an abomination and devour the entire world than be of any use to her, or indeed, anyone at all. Magic exists to serve man, or so the Chantry claimed, but the knight-commander seemed to find even his divine purpose intolerable or lacking. “If this is all the help I can provide,” he complains, pressing his fingers down harder against Meredith’s wrist as though tempted to see just how much he can get away with, “I might as well be a doorstop.” Meredith scoffs. “Don’t be ridiculous, Orsino.”
For a moment, there is nothing but silence. Deafening silence. He can feel Meredith’s heartbeat under her skin. But any futile hopes that Orsino might have held that the knight-commander might have finally forgone her infamous obstinance are instantly dashed when she hastily snaps, “A doorstop that can follow instructions.” The words rush out of his mouth before he can stop himself and think. “I could enchant one for you.” With a hiss, Meredith pulls her arm away.
All at once, Orsino’s fingers are freezing. Freezing and empty. Why, he wants to ask. Not why don’t you want an enchanted doorstop, but rather, why are you so scared of us? Why are you so scared of me?
“Goodbye, First Enchanter,” the knight-commander says. It’s one of the frostiest dismissals Orsino endured in weeks. His question dies on the tip of his tongue as he meets her gaze and realises that he doesn’t want to learn the answer. [non-sexual intimacy prompts]
